  1. Past hour
  2. Gimme A Bullet To Bite On - AC/DC
  3. Phew, it did fit (just). All wired up and yes, series sounds much better (to me anyway) than parallel. Success! After I had to swap the top and bottom terminals because I got the fifty fifty decision wrong and got my north and south the wrong way round. Typical!
  4. I have a 2016 version. Sounds and plays excellent.
  5. F4-10M Thrust Bearings on my B2 (4 for about £5 on the bay)
  6. I have a related Squier, a MVM Jazz 5 which has been defretted, and I do rather like it. I had a play on a Harley Benton 5-string Jazz at a bass bash in Derby a few years ago (can't remember who brought it) and was also impressed by that, though it was a tad heavy. So I'm not being in the slightest bit helpful. Still, everyone will tell you you need a Precision, and a PJ means you can have one without the horrible Precision neck, and with the possibility of making a bit of difference to the P sound, so the HB might be the one to go for. Unless, of course, it's got the horrible Precision neck.
  7. Just loving Adrian Shaw's walking line on this.
  8. The RM800 unexpectedly arrived early today, so I've tried it out at very low home levels. I'm liking what I'm hearing so far through a Barefaced One10. The Compressor and drive are OK actually, but on low settings. Not sure about the sub yet! I'm looking forward to trying it out through my LFSys Monaco in the new year.
  9. Now that Sub Zero has finally moved out, it's taken weeks of airing and spraying to remove the smell of teenage-then-20s youth from his former bedroom. And yes, he was a Lynx abuser.
  10. Well, Steve Parrish did once relate the story of when he was team mates with Bazza, he came into the garage one day to find a young lady (not Mrs Bazza) kneeling in front of Bazza checking how far down his zip would go. Must have been fresh enough then.
  11. I've not had an Ashdown amp with a built in compressor The Sub is ok IMO but an OC-2 is better The Drive is ok as well but again there's a plethora of Bass OD pedals available now In the late 90's I would sometimes boost the drive ( and mid eq) if I was jamming using a plectrum
  12. And the different things that they like cost different amounts of money!
  13. Today
  14. The Behringer one looks as if it will do the job. You'll need something like https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/186880321395 to go in the back of the piano, then a USB-C to USB-C cable to go from piano to HOST socket, and a USB-C power supply to go to the POWER socket. It's annoying that manufacturers keep penny-pinching by not putting DIN MIDI connectors on devices that have the room to fit them. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/388956055978 offers straight or right-angle adaptors and is UK based.
  15. I've used all 3. Compressor is on half. Drive to be used with caution, only a fraction but does the job. Sub is your typical Ashdown and is OK in small measures.
  16. Very kind. We’ve got three albums to listen to that you can find on bandcamp, Spotify etc. It’s all instrumental, self produced, different themes, very prog and a bit pretentious 🤣 I really like From sea to sky and the 3rd one we put out on a label. “Phantasia on the high processions of the sun, moon and countless stars above”. All a bit silly. I miss the band a lot.
  17. One of Janek’s favourite pedals and it’s 100% chaos. I have one!
  18. Merry Christmas everyone Sonny Rollins and Coleman Hawkins - "All The Things You Are"
  19. I like the HB B550 progressive series. I rather like the tone of it, and it has both active/passive(on mine there isn't much difference), although I rarely use it. I'm not entirely sure but I think string spacing is about 16.5 or 17mm and it's very lightweight.
  20. Shoot Shoot - UFO
  21. Yes, I second that emotion.
  22. Shaped, sanded, black grain filler and first coat of Liberon Finishing Oil.
  23. cheers Mark , it’s lovely just needs playing
  24. Although Neutrik do make superb products, they have had a few duds over the years. I haven't heard of any problems with Speakon sockets, but as @Chienmortbb says, @agedhorse is the man with the experience here.
  25. Mister Bang Bang Man — Little Hank
  26. Here is a pre Ernie Ball Musicman Sabre. Serial number C0003xx which dates it between 1979-1981. AlI original except the d-tuner ( original is in the case). All electronics and the truss rod working as they should and the neck is straight. Pretty decent condition given its age. See photos for the few flaws; scuffed headstock (actually not too bad, the picture is worse than the reality!); aging on the tuners; mark on the fretboard and the worn section of the neck. Frets ok but a couple might need repair, burn mark on the bridge humbucker, small scratch on the body, scratching to the pick guard (obviously) and a couple of rusty screws. Hiscox case included is fully functional but there are a couple of scratches. Neck: Bolt-on maple, 34” scale, maple fretboard with 21 frets; 3-bolt, nut width around 1.625”–1.67”. Pickups: Dual humbuckers with exposed pole pieces (large 3/8” alnico magnets on bridge pickup. Electronics: Active 2-band EQ (bass/treble boost/cut), master volume; 3-way toggle selector, phase switch (for out-of-phase tones), and treble boost switch. Powered by 9V battery, 3+1 headstock tuner layout. 19mm string spacing at the bridge. Weight between 9-11bs. I can take a more precise weight if anyone wants it in a couple of days. Price excluded shipping. Currently I don’t see one of these cheaper online. No trades, unless you got a very good Yamaha. Merry Christmas to all fellow Basschatters. Keep playing and in good health. I wish you all well for the New Year. Regards David
