It amazes me how popular Blues bands still are in England. Daryl

Sometime those gigs that have " disaster " written all over them can turn out to be awesome gigs . Daryl

I did this earlier today but forgot to post it here. 'The Jet Song'. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/the-jet-song-dave-grusin/

The last of the Patitucci/Grusin charts, this is the tune 'Something's Coming' from the 1997 Grusin recording 'West Side Story'. That was a heavy couple of days but I really enjoy this recording and playing these parts gives me such a buzz. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/somethings-coming-dave-grusin/

Rarely touch the eq on my pjb rig. Maybe tweak the bass for room acoustics. My old trace certainly needed a big smile on it tho. Guess the trace was designed to sound impressive and the pjb to be flat response.

I don't blame you, I've become a real fan of Jonathan's playing over the last couple of years and think he's a real hidden gem of the bass world! Jonathan's BBs are indeed passive he has a pair of BB3000S (V-V-T control layout instead of the V-T-Pickup selector) and he strings one with flats, the other with rounds. I've been looking for one for a while but people that have them are keeping hold of them, and the one example I did find was both the wrong side of the Atlantic and out of my price range. One option I'm exploring as an alternative is the BBX, these were apparently Japan only basses but they have the same overall spec and control layout, the big difference being that they are bolt on rather than thru-neck.

Fantastic and practical little pedal this - massively boosts your volume and immediately creates a slap tone via a mid scoop and low & high end boost - works really well. This is used but in excellent condition and comes with original 12v power supply - tiny too so will squee onto most pedal boards no problem! Reduced to £50 inc UK Shipping! Official blurb below: The MB Mini series of pedals from Markbass is made to the same high quality level as our standard effect line, but uses an ultra-compact, lightweight chassis. Smaller than other stompboxes, these incredible-sounding pedals will fit onto even the most crowded pedal boards, and the 9-12V power requirement means you can use them with any standard power supply. Give your pedalboard a “boost” with the MB Mini Boost—which also features our Variable Preshape Filter (boosts lows and highs, and cuts mids). Input: mono ¼” jack Input impedance: 1 Mohm / 6 Vpp Output: mono ¼” jack Output impedance: 470 ohm / 6 Vpp Boost Gain Level: from 0 to +20 dB Power requirements: DC Input +9/+12VDC* Dimensions: 48.4 x 38.2 x 105.2 mm / 3.23” x 1.5” x 4.92” Weight: 0.51 lbs / 230 gr * 12VDC power supply included

It’s awesome. the pcb’s are separate because it’s just their regular pedals mounted in a box.

How different are the pickups in the BB434 and the BBP34 ? Other than the pickups and country of manufacture and the IRA treatment they are pretty similar aren't they ?

Fender 9050L flats are on. I guess this is why it’s worth wiping new flats with alcohol. Only had a little play acoustically and haven’t checked the intonation yet, but these strings feel so nice and smooth. Except the D, which is strangely rough and grabby and almost feels like they put a round in by mistake.

Fender Made in Japan Short Scale Jazz Bass, Piano Black. Awesome short scale bass, only selling to reduce number of basses and unfortunately not getting much use. I can't see any scratches etc on it. Imported from Japan in September 2024, around £850 new including import duties. Can include the Fender gig bag it shipped with. Description from original seller below: The Made in Japan Junior Collection Jazz Bass features a 30" scale fingerboard with traditional Fender looks, The 30" scale fretboard makes it an excellent choice for entry-level players and younger players who are just starting out. The 30" scale fingerboard makes it easier to play chords and reduces the burden on the fingers when pressing strings, The compact body, scaled down to approximately 94%, and the new body cavity design make it lighter, providing greater playability. Selling this lovely Bitmap in great shape with original box - it's basically mint apart of velcro. These received significant software update last year with additional clipping modes etc. Red Panda has also very convenient web editor for presets. Happy to trade (with price adjustments) for interesting dirt pedals. Bitmap occupies my "loose spot" for additional dirt in pedalboard and I'm just happy to experiment. Basic overdrive I'm covering with Capo. The ones I would love to try are EAE, Damnation Audio, Broughton, Bearfoot, Hiero etc. Would've thrown 3leaf in but what are the chances

I'm just home from a gig, I'm 69 next week and I love it as much as I did when I first gigged age 21. We played to a full house today, the band played pretty well and getting the youngsters up dancing knows it has gone OK. Long may it last.

Fender Made in Japan Hybrid II Jazz Bass - Vintage Natural. In fantastic condition, I can’t see any marks on this at all. Imported from Japan in September last year and only used a few times, so selling and hoping someone else gets better use. Cost over £1000 including shipping and import duties. I switched out the pick guard from the original tortoiseshell to mint green, however I still have the original (unmarked) and can include if preferred. The last picture shows the bass as new for reference.
