  1. Past hour
  2. Only just seen this, sounded like a brilliant idea.
  3. Deeply saddened by this news. We all knew it was coming but I didn't expect it so soon after the Back to the Beginning show. An absolute legend, who lived more of a life than most of us could ever imagine.
  4. I felt a bit jaded after the 11:49 transcription so wanted to try something in a higher register that didn't keep me down in the region of the low B. This came up on my mp3 player and I thought I would have a go. It is not a bass part at all but the melody to a Ralph Towner tune called 'Ecotopia' from the 1987 Oregon album of the same name. Something very different. The melody does some lovely things with the rhythms so have a go and see where it takes you. A nice exercise. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/ecotopia-oregon-melody-transcribed-for-bass/
  5. Bartolini 6RC Pickup. This is a direct drop-in for your Rickenbacker bridge pickup. Only selling as I am using an alternative in my 4003. Just a bit of shine on the top of the pup where the string rubs a little. Bass Direct have these new at £118 < only asking £75, UK postage included. PM for any more info, thanks for looking! SB 😀
  6. RIP Ozzy. Legend. Certainly went out on a high.
  7. Bought my first fretless in 1978 - still have it today. Others have come and gone in the meantime. Most gigs unless it's a cutdown set for whatever reason I will have a fretted and a fretless bass with me. I like the contrast in tone and the audiences usually like it too. This is the current three and most unlikely to change now.
  8. Being passive isn't the only factor - my Laklands are just more up my street, as I mentioned. It's still a lovely bass, but perhaps stands a better chance of being moved on unadulterated! 😉
  9. Oh my, I think the bass gods are really toying with me; I was looking out for a Tune 5-string a while back (I have the TWB-6 and a couple of the later Korean models). Sadly, funds won't currently allow me to go for it but I can certainly vouch for the quality of these basses. Absolutely! GLWTS. 👍😎👍
  10. Thorn Tree In The Garden - Derek & The Dominos
  11. Up for sale is a MM Stingray 5 Special, with an ebony fingerboard and a rather fetching Smoked Chrome finish, now discontinued I believe. I bought it last year, but despite the fabulous build quality and finish, being light for a fiver at 4.3kg with great balance, fabulous Stingray tones, and being so easy to play, I find myself reverting to my old Lakland 55-94, which just feels like home. Immaculate condition, complete with MM branded Mono semi-rigid case. Specs are here: https://www.music-man.com/instruments/basses/stingray-5-specialhttps://dingwallguitars.com/bass/sp1/ Collection preferred from near Woking in Surrey, but I can post within the UK at the buyer's cost and risk. Sorry, no trade offers please.

  14. "Hello, friend" - a vain attempt at gaining your trust.
  15. Got this in a trade on here recently but it’s just not got much use. Between the green Russian and the grey stache that I own I have my fuzz needs covered. This one is two big muffs running in parallel, one of them has a standard tone control, the other has a mid boost/cut. Certainly a lot to play with and a lot of sounds to be gotten out of it! No original box with this but will be packaged securely. Price will include postage in the UK
  16. Whistling too... ...except for in that movie.
  17. A Good Year For The Roses — Elvis Costello
  18. Hmmm...not the first time I've looked at this...even though I am without a Spector I really can't justify another bass. GLWTS
  19. I'm only going for the wrestling!
  20. Hi, Can I also have the bass tab please if that's alright? There's literally no other tabs anywhere online so I'd be very grateful for any tab, even if it's not 100% :)) My email is: [email protected]
  21. It's hard to find gig video and pics of us ( Maple Road). I don't think anyone in the band except me has any interest in pics or video. It's too bad because we have a theatre gig coming where you could shoot some nice footage. Daryl
  22. This one is a bit special. Started as ebony/black special edition. Now has: Aguilar preamp. (vol, blend, stacked B&T) 2 x Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders. Hipshot lollipop tuners. Routed for weight reduction. Now 4.3kg or 9lb 7oz. Anodised pickguard. Fully shielded. Case. All work by actual luthier, not me! Can ship 4 string trades possible, but only posh ones 😂🛳️
  23. I told them to put you above the puppet show!
