  1. Past hour
  2. Sorry to hear you haven't adjusted to the fiver, Freddie. On the plus side, the Elite Jazz you sold me a few months ago is stunning. I use it for the live multi-tribute shows regularly.
  3. Everyone, I'll hear offers via DM before it goes off to bassdirect 🤓
  4. Thanks! Sounds epic. Especially with the Helix SVT 4 Pro sound. Those Aguilar MM pickups really are something special. I love the one I have in my 95 Stingray. Nothing sounds quite like it.
  5. Some more Hiromi era Anthony Jackson. The tune is called 'Spirit' and comes from the 2014 Trio Project album, 'Alive'. The track features a rare Jackson solo which is challenging but, in the main, the biggest problem is having to read triplet eighths as triplet eighths as the traditional 'swung triplets' approach doesn't work. Jackson swings some sixteenths but not others. Tricksy! I played this on my 7-string. Sounds lush, as our Nessa would say! https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/spirit-hiromi-uehara/
  6. It’s about time that you implemented a “one in, three out” rule!
  7. O level physics says the answer has to be yes doesn't it, with an amp that works down to 2 ohms.....
  8. I just got a Dingwall nickel set for ease - reasonably priced and they fit well
  9. I've got an American Performer and it's a great bass. Definitely punches above it's weight. I played a JMJ and didn't think it was that different to my then Competition Burgundy Vintera II. Both of those were on flats (definitely not my thing), but I prefer the sprightliness of the American Mustang. I think (correct me if I'm wrong!) all of the Mustangs with the smaller split coil are the Japanese pickups (the height adjustment. screws have reverse Japanese threads.) The single coil J in mine is an American 'Yosemite' model.
  10. Sold my G&L L2000 to Mike today. Really nice guy to do business with. Very genuine and a real gent. Aside from the sale; he's got some great stories about gigging, musicians and the bass business. The sale was very smooth and a pleasure to meet Mike!
  11. @HeadlessBassist Sorry for the delay. I recorded a play along of one of my favourite songs: “Come as you are” by Beverley Knight. And then because I was curious I recorded did it again for another 3 takes with different amp sims. SVT 4 Pro. Dirty Aguilar Tonehammer Joe Dart heavily compressed (although new roundwounds not flats) Fat DI. Bass EQ stayed the same apart from the Tonehammer as the low was far too much so I backed it off a little, but it was only boosted a little in the first place. There’s a little playlist of the 4 on YouTube.
  12. Surely she's a bit too good to be supporting tribute acts.
  13. Sold Graham some strap locks. Superb buyer, instant payment and kept me informed. Deal with complete confidence. 👍
  14. White Line Fever - Motörhead
  15. I had a blue v-amp ii. It was pretty good for its time, but that was 23 years ago. If you can find a psu for well under a tenner (and assuming the unit itself still works) it might be worth a play, but I wouldn't spend more than that to get it working. I recall it has a weird din-style plug on the psu for some unknown reason.
  16. Boss BC-1X Bass Compressor for sale in excellent condition. Velcro on bottom. Only selling as I have too many compressors & also going analog as I use battery power (Volto) under pedalboard, however this multi comp only actually draws 90mA. Great metering & great sound .. but running out of space lol Price includes UK postage.
  17. I stack a 210 traveller vertically on top of my CMD210. Even my bandmates noticed the difference and an improvement in sound at rehearsals.
  18. I agree! Why don't you holiday in lovely Barry Island for a weekend. You could go on the Gavin and Stacey tour too 😁
  19. For sale, a Hipshot Kickass bridge (4 string) in chrome. This has been hanging around in a drawer with lots of other bridges and bits and bobs. It looks new though I suspect it's been fitted previously (but not by me). It comes with the adjustment key, 5 screws and the replacement/extra saddles shown in the image. It's a standard replacement Fender pattern. The bridges sometimes come with a couple of springs but the latter weren't supplied when I bought the bridge. I should be able to ship for around £3.00 in the UK. Any questions please just ask
  20. Cheers. I saw her again later on at the merch stand while I was on my way to the ladies 😄
  21. Today
  22. Thanks Phaedrus, yes I was playing my American Original this afternoon, and it just has the deepest and richest Jazz sound ever. @Silky999's walnut body does look a bit special, doesn't it? It's long been my favorite wood for a bass. Again, the Walnut S2 that I've had for eighteen years just has a sound like nothing else, and that includes my Stealth 2 & KingBass Mk-II.
  23. The capacitor that's leaking would be on your active preamp board, ahead of the putput volume pot. Can you attach a pic of the preamp?
  24. Hi everyone, Up for sale is this SahBro? Brass Section Fuzz. A cool Brassmaster clone in a 1590BB enclosure. It's a nice option if you're looking for that particular kind of fuzz sound, but it's not in a giant enclosure at a larger price. It's got a few dings, but it all works as it should. Here's the reverb shop I got it from: https://reverb.com/uk/item/83850271-sahbro-audio-the-brass-section-brassmaster-clone I'm asking £90 for it. Price includes postage. Below I've attached some quick sound clips too. The signal is a P bass with Chromes, straight into an RNDI. Brass Section Samples.wav Cheers!

  25. Yes, the graphite will give you that 'shimmer' to the attack/sustain, and hopefully the 'PEEK' composite fingerboard will give a very tight sound, much like the percussive 'tonk' you get from an ebony board, or from a phenolic fingerboard.
  26. Also headless I've got the Fender Pure Vintage 64 in a Jazz bass I built and they are my favourite pickups ever. Also worth saying that is an absolutely stunning piece of Walnut!
  27. The problem was that it wasn’t gloss, it was matt, made glossy by playing, which in turn made them sticky. I never regretted stripping mine, it felt and played so much better.
