This one is primarily, but not exclusively, aimed at those of us who are in the mellow autumn of our years. The partner of our vocalist and band leader had a stroke last week. She’s likely to be in hospital for another few weeks and is likely to need lots of support when she gets home. Consequently, and rightly, we’ve cancelled everything band-wise for the rest of the year. Onwards, we’ll have to see how things go. So, while you are able, do that gig, join that band, buy that bass, climb that mountain. Whatever you want to do, while you can. And, prompted by a recent thread, don’t stick around in that dysfunctional band hoping things will improve.

I’m borrowing my guitar player’s nano cortex. Where do I find the bass IR’s - did a search on the NDSP guys but not seeing bass cab ir’s. It’s showing me everything else. I entirely blame user error on this I have updated the app etc. Any guidance appreciated.

Earlier on this year I temped for my old band. They`d decided to let their bassist go, and asked me to go back and cover, in that order, which for me is the right way. As a courtesy I messaged him to let him know that I was covering and that it wasn`t skullduggery to get my old position back, to which he thanked me for the message, and said he was aware of this as they`d let him know. I don`t see the need for all this underhand stuff, if it`s not working act, don`t plot, what my old band did above worked well, and because everything was up front there are no issues and we can all be grown-ups (well as grown up as The Inbetweeners perhaps) and get on with each other.

Agree, their material is instantly recognisable and many really like them but I just can`t get Coldplay. -
Pernambuco French frog double bass bow. Nickel Silver mounted, fresh new white hair, Lovely balance and feel in the hand. Clear articulate and a great basic professional level bow for a bargain price. Ideal for theatre, shows, orchestral and particular great value for students or persons at the beginning of their career or music college. Chosen, tested and made to specification for a UK professional valued at £350 by glen titmus, however looking for a quick sale so open to offers.

For a proper grenade-in-the-portaloo departure, I would suggest the following amendment to 2, assuming that there's a D, E and F (or even G, H , I, J, K, L and M if your band is a ludicrous monster like mine) and that they're not party to the skulduggery: 2: Leave the toxic environment completely, but throw that grenade on the way out - "I am leaving the band. For those of you who don't know, there is a secret plot to bin one of you and there is an audition already arranged for the replacement. That's is appalling. A band should be like a marriage - if it's not working you end it. Not try out a side piece first" D to M will now be wondering which one of them is the backstabbed and who the backstabbee is. Kaboom.

Anyone that gets up, gives something a try and puts themselves out there deserves respect, no matter what field they are in. That said Coldplay are still rubbish. -

Its all perspectives isn't it? Rubbish is quite a shorthand way of expressing things like "not my cup of tea" and "inferior quality compared to other options". I wouldn't say Morrisey is a rubbish singer, I would say something like I'd rather lick horse wee off burning thistles, but that's my perspective and I don't expect everyone else to go along with it. -

They are quite nice looking pedals in an understated way, aren't they! All credit to their respective designers - though I wish the lettering on the blackout compressor was just a tiny bit easier to read. The only reason I have the TU-3w was that my girlfriend asked me what I'd like for my birthday a few years ago, and specified that it had to be something that I wanted but couldn't justify buying myself as it was kinda stupid. The TU-3w had just been released; I absolutely wanted one and couldn't think of anything much more unjustifiably daft than a tuner that costs twice as much as it should.. just because it's painted black. Anyway, sticky dots now applied and re-photographed against the contrasting side of the cow blanket. Hopefully the next time I need this photo isn't for the insurance when some light-fingered type at a gig likewise finds it attractive!

Agree 100% with the OP. It's a message I have consistently given my kids as they were growing and I played them both kinds of music, country and western (kidding). They were fed many shades of the spectrum from full on prog right through to jazz (not that I have much of that), and they took what they wanted from each genre. They now have actually quite divergent tastes which is interesting. The real point of "communion" has been the Graceland album. -

When it comes to music there are two kinds: 1. Music you like. 2. Music you don’t like. /thread - Today

We have started using River Studios, near Southampton, and ended up using their EBS Session 60. Looked tiny but was perfectly adequate for the size of the room.

Far be from me to persuade @SumOne to buy more gear and multiple keyboards... However, the idea of a simpler home piano, and a more capable stage piano, and a compact "workstation" keyboard, all doing different roles, would certainly appeal to me. In terms of what to buy first, the family can probably play the Nord at home, and you can take it to gigs too. However, the ES-60 (or similar) perhaps won't be robust enough for gigging, and may pick up knocks - not ideal for a piece of home furniture. So, perhaps keep the MPC Key 37, find a suitable secondhand Nord Electro 6 73, sell the CK-61, and finally buy a ES-60 at your leisure.

You can dislike something and acknowledge that it's good work I think, but there is an inherent polarisation of any subjective call these days, everything has to be black or white, the "you're either with us or against us" crowd, Liverpool v Everton, City V United... That footballification of everything leaves no room for nuance. Can't stand Country and Western, but those boys can play and write a tune, really don't like the Beatles, whilst recognising their significance as songwriters and the quality of McCartneys bass work (and Ringo's drumming for that matter), can't listen to most Jazz, or classical. The limitation is in me, not them, I fully admit. That said, Morrisey can do one, any day of the week, muppet. -
Super rare Iron Ether Super FrantaBit - basically two FranaBits in one box, with foot switches to flip flop between them both, as well as switch between Degrade and Obliterate mode. One of the most versatile and sought after Bit Crushers ever made. Grab this now, without the painfully long wait, shipping, and a massive VAT bill when it arrives in the UK! Selling this to buy a Hologram Microcosm (had one, massive regrets over selling it), but will consider the following trades/part-exs: Hologram Microcosm, Red Panda Tensor, Triungolo Barbanera. Iron Ether Polytope, Iron Ether Xerograph, Providence Anadime Bass Chorus, Ibanez Ashula SRAS7 (Dragon Eye Burl finish).

I can’t believe nobody hasn’t snapped this up at this price! It’s absurd. I’ve got one for sale myself and I’d never let it go at this price. If I had the spare cash I’d buy this! Either, folk haven’t used one of these or, everyone is being more than coy with their money. You will never really need another amp or effects, this covers it all. Absolutely baffling.
