  4. I think the F# tuning is what many going for a 6 string NG would likely tune to over regular tuning to be fair! But I agree you may want to look at removing the vinyl cover (or at least checking it can be removed cleanly) as its a little niche, don't remember seeing anything like that before!
  5. I believe that the body will require routing to accommodate the new Dingwall 'minimalist' bridge. I fitted the early Payson bridge to a NG3, which didn't entirely cover the earth wire rout. A grommet was supplied to fill the gap which was just about acceptable. As mentioned above, the current Payson bridges do not have this issue.
  6. He was using his old Ibanez Blazer through a Hiwatt stack 😀 I saw them in 2020 too and he was using the Blazer and a sunburst 70's Fender P.
  7. Yeah, I actually found that out many years ago while playing about one day, add some labella LTFs and it’s the perfect reggae sound
  8. You're absolutely right yeah, my bad!
  9. Thank you very much, glad you’re enjoying the bass! 😁
  10. Much appreciated, thank you! 😃
  11. Thanks Bill, if it’s good enough for you it’s certainly good enough for us 👍
  12. Are those ports?
  13. Automatic - Pointer Sisters
  14. That That wouldn't be fun....
  15. I'd take my bass to a store to try some pedals out first hand of I were you. Personally I didn't like the mxr drive/distortion pedals with my Spector or Stingray 5. I do like a Zvex like the distortron, a tube preamp like Verellen Meatsmoke, and am currently having a lot of fun with a RAT pedal.
  16. I'd be up for a trade, anything jazz bassy, Warwicky - 4 string!
  17. Sealed cabs will explode obviously so make sure yours is ported. And keep it dry, a good flight case should do.
  18. I've owned three Classic Sabres - the sunburst and natural went to basschatters and my Sledge with rosewood board went to Bass Bros a couple of days after this one sold and then itself sold within 24 hours. These are great basses. I've owned a couple of StingRay Classics as well and there's no comparison imo. The Sabre's versatility wins out every time. I'd also have a Sabre over a StingRay HH as well. If I hadn't stopped buying 4 string basses I'd be tempted by this. GLWTS
  19. No problem at all, I used to do this when touring in the '70s. Since our gigs were usually a full week I used to hang them in front of the band if there was available rigging.
  20. If you want a cheap bass that will do the job without any upgrades or extra spending, why not get a used Ibanez SR300. They're not good for the price, they're just good.
  21. In an unexpected twist, I have to withdraw this for now. I’m sure it’ll be bank up soon-ish.
  22. A gentleman and a fine fellow indeed! A man who knows how to meticulously wrap a parcel as if it is passing through a war zone. Dave was happy to offer lots of pictures and details even mentioning the tiniest of marks (that I can't see!!) As they say on eBay, A++++++ perfect communications, would recommend.
  23. Depends if you want to risk your name/ legacy or not. If he has enough money to enjoy retirement and pass a bit on, he may not what to.
  24. Been trying to return a shirt, using Evri’s return service. Printed the label Evri emailed me, attached it and took it to two of Evri’s recommended return shops. Both times the very patient staff scanned the bar code over and over again but with no luck. In both instances they tried a number of different approaches to registering the return, even confirming that the email and instructions I showed them were correct. I took it another shop this morning by way of a last resort. Again, no joy. I did the mandatory “Evri chance it’ll get lost anyway” jibe at the top of my voice as I took back off the member of staff. To my surprise a fella behind me said “I’m an Evri driver, let me see if I can help?” We went outside to his van, he took out his scanning device and it registered without an issue. He took my parcel, and issued me with a receipt and a card with his name and contact number on. I checked my emails and there it was, registered as collected and on its way to the depot. Look, it may never see the light of day again, but I have to say that the courier couldn’t have been more helpful and at least I do have some evidence of the return being in the system so have a chance of a refund. I’m pretty sure that he went against Evri policy, so this isn’t necessarily a shout to the company, and no it’s not a £25,000 Wal that’s gone missing, more a nice story…. as you were…

  25. 5kg would be the packed weight with gig bag, ie what is on their system for shipping weight, which probably explains the reply
