  1. Past hour
  2. Encore 1980's Red Copycaster. It was sitting there mocking me, with 2 to many strings on it. And so I decided to free it from guitar land. Snagged some hardwear from Jabba the Gut on here and set to work ruining fixing the Bass Guitar. My luthier skills are akin to shed building, but I was determined to make a playable shorty for grins. It plays "ok" and sounds like a weird strat, you can't dig in much, but for noodling at the open mic it works fine. intonation was a chore, and whoever designed those bridge saddles needs shooting, they look the part, but eff me! setting them up was madness 🫠. Its gonna need a string tree and the nut needs sorting, but I an happy and thats what counts. 😀 54D1E4EB-573B-46B3-965E-4F2CB0D5C9A5.heic92977FD9-899C-4EA4-8AD3-A29445A07216.heicB5E2B205-5010-4251-A4AC-3704FA41065B.heic62318513-6A3F-4D3C-BF43-F7EE1C8D791C.heicC346177B-7C03-4402-9646-C4C640611D56.heicAE13FEA8-A586-4B2E-8FE1-94F73370C923.heicC3E0E47C-44DC-46D1-BC47-F7CA5775257E.heic8BE23DF0-773A-4506-809A-D46298F59307.heic8F9A2EC3-91CE-4FA2-8B6C-E6B45860E047.heic86D4514A-6B93-42E3-8DD4-61C9D1E2A6E6.heicC9946B7E-7BD8-4C89-8F29-128DA8678DAC.heicE1D70765-1EB1-43A5-967A-C1AF6E7B81DF.heic Then I decided I was 19 again. 43301BED-8BF5-4B9E-A865-A6595E1464E6.heic
  3. Given the goth style makeup she went out in last night I beg to differ... 😊
  4. Guitar guitar have some in stock
  5. Nothing more whiter 🙂 glad it’s being used Matt.
  6. I think these words can help us all as we navigate relationships. Basschat is as much a social outlet for me as the pub was (I’ve sort of given up the social drinking now as I didn’t enjoy it). Best of luck getting back on your feet Lee. One of my best friends is going though this and a few of us are helping him any way we can. I’m a bit strapped for cash but if i can help with equipment let me know. I’ve got all manner of leads, tuners, few pedals and things I’d be happy to help you out with.
  7. Every Which Way But Loose - Eddie Rabbitt
  8. Still available if people are interested
  9. Even if the strings are new, a poor break angle / witness point could potentially cause this issue.
  10. No more messing about with flobbly wet melodic bass nonsense!
  11. Misty - Errol Garner
  12. Nice. Well I guess that settles it, can definitely get that tone on a Jazz ...or a Stingray, and probably a P! 'all in the fingers' n'all that.
  13. 34‘Scale, but a 34’ scale Adamovic plays and feels like 33‘
  14. Reposted - Thought it may have regained a use, but the slot has been taken by another! Second chance!
  15. I've wanted a white bass for a while, but didn't really want to buy another add to the growing collection. I had in mind what look I wanted though. So when @oldslapper put a white body up for sale, I jumped on it pretty quick. I transferred the neck from my Jazz Delux, black scratch plate and knob plate I already had, and added Aguitar pickups. Loving playing it.
  16. Today
  17. Marginally out with a tuner, maybe not, audiably out, yes. Not that I have ever really checked the intonation at the 12th fret, I tend to only do it at the 19th.
  18. I have used him in the past on an old Ric I had.. Black plate and TRC which he would only do on proof the Ric is genuine...
  19. "Saint Leo" only used alder because it was cheap and available but fairy wood still made me laugh 😃
  20. Aye - it's a means of saying there is push energy and pull energy going to a speaker; whilst it naturally goes back to its zero position, we want to measure the energy expended on its travels.
  21. So long as it intonates correctly at the 12th fret, it personally wouldn't concern me in the slightest if intonation at the 24th was marginally out when measured with a tuner. In fact, given all the potential variables, I'd be surprised indeed if it happened to me perfect, but maybe that's just me?!! None of that helps you at all, but what I'm saying is, I suppose, is that do you think the buyer's expectation is reasonable? It's good of you to be concerned, but you've no idea about their level of competence. Definitely check the string though!!
  22. Babicz FCH 4 Bridge Gold. Excellent condition. Unfortunately, I have misplaced one of the fixing screws, there should be five but I only have four, and the allen key Free shipping within the UK.
  23. Someone with a lathe could easily make up some bushings to fit - wouldn't take long.
  24. 33’ scale?
