Something that saves me doing the same thing is remembering that the pins point in the direction that the signal goes.

Or buy a You Rock YRG1000 for a lot less. Or an Artiphon Instrument One. -
A year later... how are you finding it? In particular battery life. I bought mine in February this year. It's died on me twice on stage, flashing red (low battery). The thing is I keep the transmitter and receiver in their charger box. The box still has power (2 bars) a week after I last used the wireless, so I expected them to be fully charged when I picked them tonight. They lasted just over two hours. I always carry cables as well, but I'm starting to lose trust on these. If they clearly lose performance, I'm tempted to open the things and see if I can replace their batteries. Seems fiddly.

I picked up a DAddario mic mute last week out of interest and used it for the first time last night. It seemed to work well and was easy to set up. Phantom power to my BV mic and a quick tweak of the proximity sensor wheel and my mic automatically muted when I moved back so my head was more than about 9 inches away on direct line of sight, or if I moved off axis to the mic. I suppose you could probably achieve similar by setting a gate but this seemed a good and not hugely expensive option at between £80 & £90 on most sites. I did go slightly boss eyed watching the sensor light go on and off 🤪 Sound guy seemed to like it and said he’d watched my channel mute/unmute on its own so maybe we need to invest in a couple more for the other BV mics. It wouldn’t work with a radio mic or entirely as intended for a vocalist holding the mic and moving

Not a bad night at this evening’s gig. Reasonable crowd. Sound was good. IEM’s set nicely and the ambient mic I put under the kit between hi hat and bass drum worked well for all the cues I needed. Bass was sounding great and everything seemed to be going smoothly until midway through the second set one of our guitarists felt unwell and left the stage to sit outside for fresh air, though he was still not 100% when we finished so vocalist who had travelled with him drove him home. I used the DAddario mic mute I picked up last week and it seemed to work well, though I do go a little boss eyed watching the infrared light go on and off. I had the proximity set quickly and as well as moving back out of range it was easy to move just off axis and for it to cut the mic. Sound guy said it worked well and was watching how it muted my mic when not in use. May have to invest in a couple more for the other two BV mics 🙂

Pleased I could help. If I had a pound for every time I plugged the feed to the pa into the expression pedal socket on the hx stomp, or for every time I had to move the singer's wiring between sub and top from 'full range' to 'high pass' then I could have afforded dummy plugs sooner.

I would literally check everything again as if you were doing a fresh set up. Level the neck(no relief) then run a fret rocker up the frets again. Check the frets in 3 places across each fret. Level any cheeky rockers! Set the neck relief again Check the nut slot heights. Set the string heights and make sure they follow the fretboard radius. I bet you still have a high fret at the bottom of the neck.

Bernard's musical taste shaped much of the Chic sound. I also think Jerry Barnes overplays which is a shame, but Nile did tell him to be himself when he joined so...there's that. -

Congrats on your recent acquisition. I have been keeping an eye on these since they were released and would love to hear more if possible on how it plays and sounds. For me it sits in a particular group with visual layout similarities to the Gibson DC bass and the Cort Action Junior in terms of scale length and pick up position though obviously a big difference in price. How have you found the tone control and the push/pull in terms of altering the sound?

High Quality 3/4 DB Gigbag - suggestions?
Burns-bass replied to Happy Jack's topic in EUB and Double Bass
I understand, but I used to own the bass you did and I found the Hidersine one to be fine! The biggest issue is lifting up stairs and the Hidersine one (to me) had the most logical handles. I also had a Roth & Juinus one which was nice but was too thick and heavy. Its was almost impossible to put on and weighed (what felt like) 8kg. Add that onto an aluminium DB and it’s a brute to carry. Whats easier with an aluminium bass is that it’s hardly likely to dent to much! -
I've had my M4 for about five years now and it's great with zero problems. It runs at very low latency as well. The last driver update was the end of last year. Also, the headphone out has plenty of volume.

The archlute looks great and very intriguing. I hope it came in a case. -
Ooh, Chorus Pedal? Best used with your dual single coil bass - solo the bridge pickup and turn the tone down to 50% and hey presto, you magically embody the ghost of Jaco Pastorius. Anyway, just off to buy a sunburst fretless Jazz... (Only joking!) A thick wha..? I don't recognize this word. Plectrum? (Oh, is that the device for people who don't know what their fingers are for, who love to make those horrid clacky clanking noises?)
