  2. Those unevenly spaced tuners on the bridge are driving me mad...
  3. Thelema Instruments website at thelema-instruments.de no longer exists. However, it's on the Wayback Machine and the Antbass is a different kettle of fish. https://web.archive.org/web/20131207080247/http://thelema-instruments.de/antbass.html So the original question still stands.
  4. so I went down a rabbit hole. Got my multimeter out and tested the Bart’s and the original pickups. barts are 8.67k (ceramic) and originals are 9.39k(alnico). My squirer pbass is 7.7k (ceramic but not in the league of Bart’s at all) when I got my bass from Bassbros I took it to a local Luthier to look at. He worked or learnt at Monty’s guitars. He told me don’t change the original pickups as they are great sounding. I was after the paul jackson sound so I did lol.
  5. Wish I was closer as I feel like getting my first "traditional" type bass! Sadly very far away!
  6. How is this only £100? I would but it is a long way from mid wales to Swindon. Postage?
  7. If you haven't seen it already you might enjoy this topic -
  8. Found a pic of it on a board. 😊
  9. I'd seriously love to relieve you of the burden of bumping this, but now is definitely the wrong time for me to be weighing out for this. I'll keep coming back to it just to torture myself though. Somebody buy it - please!
  10. My daughter has decided that she needs a bigger guitar. She has been using this one for nigh on 8 years and it has done sterling service. We did not buy it new, so I am not entirely sure of specs, but the internet is strongly suggesting the following - and I have no reason not to believe it Solid Engelmann Spruce Top Solid Rosewood Back Solid Flamed Maple Binding 5mm Abalone with Fibre Border Rosette Mahogany Neck Grover Rotomatic Gold Machineheads 2 Way Truss Rod Shadow Performer Tuner Preamp / Shadow Nanoflex Pickup Hardcase Included. The present model goes for a grand-ish. But it has a little cutaway for the widdlers in our midst. OK, ok, for the people who like different chord voicings. It is a lovely guitar, but she is not about to start a guitar collection (who would do such a thing?). So it is one in, one out. Especially as I will be fully involved in augmenting the purchase price of the next one. I think the asking price is fair and I will not be motivated to bring it down. There are one or two dings photgraphed with flash for clarity. They are not that obvious away from the flash. These are reflected in my valuation. Any cheaper and I will keep it myself. To add to my collection. Don't judge me. Let us split insured shipping costs like grown ups.

  15. I’m the same. Don’t do any jewellery at all, and haven’t worn a watch since leaving my day job 33 years ago! Incidentally, after reading how many people do wear rings on here, has anyone ever damaged the neck or other parts of their basses due to them? Must admit I’ve never seen anything that resembled this when buying s/h instruments.
  16. I'll cover the cost of shipping in the UK
  17. I remember have seen another one for sale some years ago......
  18. Up for sale is this passive Sterling by Music Man Pete Wentz signature StingRay bass in a very eye catching Fiesta Red finish. I had a change of heart and withdrew my 40th anniversary Squier Jazz ad recently, so have put this up for sale as although I love it, it's the bass getting used least with my band and I've recently bought another bass. This is a very cool, passive StingRay in fantastic condition (small scratch on the back of the headstock pictured in the only sign of wear), with one of my favourite necks I've ever had on any bass. Roasted maple, stays straight throughout all seasons and feels great in the hand for those who like a chunkier bass neck. This also comes fitted with Dunlop Straploks and crucially; high quality Schaller BM tuners to replace the stock tuners which were to be blunt, utter garbage. As a passive bass with a single humbucker with just volume and tone controls it's less versatile than a regular StingRay, but it sounds great and it's a snarling rock beast that you can also get a lot of mellower tones out of. You will get most tonal variety from how and where in relation to the pickup you play it, rather than the tone control to bring out the dynamics of the fat sounding pickup. Also comes with a good quality Ritter gig bag; has a broken handle (as pictured) but all other straps and handles are in good working order. I would much prefer collection in person or half-way meet if you're reasonably close to Brighton in the South East. However, I do have a sturdy cardboard box to send this in so could look into sending at an additional cost to the buyer, and at their own risk (as it's not in a hard case so can't be insured by courier services). Please see my feedback for assurance of past honest dealings on the forum: Any questions, send me a message. Thanks.
  19. Billy Sheehan: Advanced Bass Bass Guitar DVD up for sale: As new, case and disc in perfect condition - £10 including postage in the UK only. Here's my feedback from previous Basschat transactions:
  20. Would of snapped this up had I not bought a Gnome i pro just the other day. Good luck and I hope it sells for you
  21. Absolutely stunning!
  22. Cheers I’m an old fart with a back back but not dead yet lol
  23. The word "hacking" is more likely to describe a congregant's cough, rather than how they access an IT device...
  24. Just thinking (warning to self - stop, it leads to problems), how well would this work as a small venue pa cab (or a 2x8 version?). Following the early days of this thread I fitted one into a Laney bass combo and re-ported it. Very good imo.
  25. Thanks All! I agree, the Trace stuff isn't new and neither am I.😉 Great stuff though! Mark IV gear was the first batch of TE brought into the U.S. for distribution. Lots of good times and happy customers.

    De-Fret??

Ho had a defret done on my Yamaha. Don't know where abouts you are in the country but I thoroughly recommend Ian Malones Guitars in Billericay, Essex to get a quote on the work if you're local. Theres.pics ans a nice Instagram time lapse of the work in the sales ad here:
