  1. Past hour
  2. Dropped to £200, without the spare strings I was originally including. This bass is in hardly used, mint condition.
  3. John Fogerty looks like my grandad! And I’m 60! 😂
  4. Classic bit of w**kery in your reply, old chap. All I did was reply to balance the previous comment. Sock now put in it.😉
  5. For this gig we were supposed to play various sets around the festival site to spread our jazzy vibes (according to the site). I guess that this made us look a bit like buskers - at one point a child accosted me between tunes to offer me 50 pence. Nice that it was the bass they liked best. The audience appeared to like what we played, but it's quite accessible jazz. The weather was quite good:
  6. Bargain. Note to self: I can’t have two of them…..
  7. Old Peaveys had no trouble with 2 ohms. Back in the days of discreet transistor output stages it was easy to go to 2 ohms, you just used more transistors to increase the current capacity. It's not quite that simple with Class D modules. Sure, they can do it, but it's going to up the cost. However, note that the minimum impedance load tends to be rated at full power. You can run at 2 ohms at 1/4 power and keep the current demand within spec. But who's going to advertise a 2 ohm capable amp at 250 watts compared to 4 ohm capable at 1,000 watts? 😲
  8. Jim Marshall signed me a copy of the 'It goes up to to 11, dunnit?' poster. God know where that is now.
  9. Start a thread about The Troubles that'll get closed down before the first page is done. Meanwhile can you put a sock in it? We're watching Haim. 🙄
  10. Politics will see this thread closed. back on topic, I think the bassist in the script was playing a Tom Stenback. If it was then it’s possibly the poshest bass so far 😂
  11. I've had some posters during the 90's signed by Jim himself until they started asking money for it... 🤦🏻 Talked a few times with him too about amps and drums, he was a very nice guy.
  12. Classic bit of "whataboutery" there. Two wrongs don't make a right.
  13. Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

  14. I did indeed and it is a great bass 😁 Its price tag does not reflect how well made it is and how good it sounds either. Both my semi acoustics aren’t being used for the simple reason all my work requires Precisions and something with 22 frets.
  15. It's everywhere, but this stupid idea comes from the USA.
  16. Not all all. The limit on the Interstate north of Concord is 70/112, so they don't bat an eye if you're doing 80/129. If you want to see nuts try the New Jersey Turnpike. 90/145 is common, and most of the cars you see doing that are junkers that probably aren't safe at half that speed. And if you've ever driven in Quebec you know that the speed limits there are just suggestions that are usually ignored.
  17. I'll admit that I couldn't listen right to the end, bu there was nothing nefarious that particularly shocked me in the snare sound. It gets a resounding 'Bof' from me.
  18. I have relatives through marriage who were murdered by 'loyalist' paramilitaries thanks to the assistance afforded them by MI5. I don't like to see anybody killed as a result of war, religion or anything else. Kneecap haven't killed anyone. Long live Palestine 🇵🇸
  19. Many years ago I had a dream where I went into a guitar shop and asked to play the Aria Cliff Burton bass they had. It was on the ceiling and, by the time the guy in the shop had brought it down, it had turned into one of these. Not wanting to appear rude I had a quick play and heard the most beautiful bass tone ever... so pure and lush that a crowd gathered to hear where this amazing sound was coming from. Needless to say they've been on my mind ever since. I hope yours sounds as glorious as mine did 😆
  20. Old Shoes (and Picture Postcards) - Tom Waites
  21. Anyone else notice the bored looking munchkin in front of Ms Eavis ? I'm guessing Grand daughter, someone should tell her how many ice creams mummy's share of the take would buy.... 😎
  22. Not really. Barts and EMG soapbars are smaller. When I replaced the pickups in mine the nearest thing was get rosewood covers and load them with Warman Jazzbars even then there was a fair gap.
  23. Today
  24. ....hmmm, can't see Jools booking Wunderhorse anytime soon I get it though. I watched a bit of The Script....if U2 & Coldplay had a child! Total Blandsville.
  25. First announced in 2022. Peavey then showed some, IMO poorly finished, samples at NAMM 2023. Those disappeared for "QC" reasons and the company rolled out a "should be next month" excuse until Feb 2025 🤣 I'm thinking it's repeat of the 2017 Cirrus reissue with Peavey taking delivery of the first batch then hoping they get enough orders to warrant a 2nd production run. Doubt they'll reach that magic number as, just like 2017, none of their distributors are carrying the line. Yet again Peavey are trying to sell a non-US built product to the US market, one which costs nearly 3 times as much as an original used US version fetches.
