Help with info on Markbass little Mark 250 Blackline.

So, I can't get any particularly clear pictures because the flash is bouncing off the other cables and components, but they're both marked as 100uF, 63v, and (I think) rated to 105C, though I can't get a clear look at the last part. The person who assembled my amp was very generous with the rubbery fixing compound, so I had to scrape some of that away to see the PCB labels. Here's the C6 orientation (negative to the right when looking from the front of the amp) And the C5 orientation (negative towards the front) and a fuzzy image of the markings, just to confirm I'm not making this up. -
Damnit! So I'm tuning my NS Wav 5, as I have done many times, and 'BANG'! I thought I'd broken the E string, but on inspection it turns out the tuner has broken, the shaft has completely popped out. I had read that they were a bit substandard, but I guess I got over four years out of it. Looking at the rest there's a couple where the shaft is at an angle it probably shouldn't be. It's invaluable as a practice tool at home, so I need to get on with getting it fixed. I'm guessing I'm not the first to have this issue, so before I take it out and start measuring, does anyone know of a direct replacement off the top of their head. I don't mind buying a set, as given how much use it gets it'd be a worthwhile upgrade. Thanks in advance! -

More important IMO. My IE 400 Pro have a single dynamic driver and sound far superior to other multi driver units I’ve used. -
Yes they wil use an extension so that the heel will fit a stanrdard neck pocket for a 21 fret neck. The PEEK fingerboard is harder than wood. It'll be Fender shaped. Your six is pretty sweet. It gave me buyers remorse at one point. -

I remember quite a few music shops in my area that I bought a lot of things from. My first proper bass came from a little music shope called Nova Guitar Centre on the outskirts of Guildford. The shop was an absolute mess and run by the owner, Tony and his wife Diane who were so lovely, honest and real characters. Both smoked about 40 fags a day but were bonkers and Tony was a genius at setting up basses. He was huge I to his Japanese instruments and sold a lot of Tokai, ESP and Ibanez. I bought my first Tokai Jazz bass from him in the mid 90's and then in 97, my ESP series Jazz which I still have today and is the best bass I've ever owned. Sadly, as Andertons popularity grew, Nova couldn't compete and eventually closed, probably some time in the mid to late 2000's. My very last visit to the shop in 2004 was very unusual though. Tony had got into religion and prophecies. He said to me that in a few months, there is going to be a huge natural disaster. It will be gods way of cleansing the earth, removing a lot of bad and resetting things. It will be so big and obvious that it's a natural disaster that there will be no doubt that's it's not a terrorist attack. He then went on to say that after this has happened, God will turn his attention to the US as he's unhappy with the corruption and greed over there and again, there will be another natural disaster hitting the US and again, there will be no doubt that it's an act of nature and not a terrorist attack. Of course, I thought he was quackers but a few months later, the tsunami hit Indonesia on Boxing Day and then the following year, Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana and Mississippi. Anyway, also local to me was Andertons and I bought one of my first basses from them, a Washburn Force ABT b20 in crackle red when they were in their original location. They are still local to me so I pop in quite often. Also local to me was Kingfisher Music in Fleet which I used to buy things fro occasionally, usually for going on tour. I'm also someone who used to visit the Bass Centre in Wapping and I absolutely loved going there. It was brilliant. When we signed in 1998, I had it in my contract that I would get £5k to buy new bass gear. I headed straight to the Bass Centre and bought my dream bass, a Teal Stingray with maple neck. I also picked up a Status Energy, a Hartke HA7000 and a Hartke 4x10 and 1x15 with the aluminium speakers. The Stingray was an absolute disaster and never suited me, the Status sounded terrible so I swapped it and the rig was so big and powerful, I only ever toured with the 4x10. However, the Hartke HA7000 is still the best bass amp I've ever owned and used. Also local to me in Camberley, there used to be a music shop on the A30 in the 90's. It burnt down under suspicious circumstances and reopened in Sandhurst.

Your instructions are "correct" with a drawing, but I hope you're not into anything implying direction or mechanic @JJMotown as your instructions would be a total mess. Use simple terms like clockwise or anticlockwise. This is also the same problem with people talking about front and rear pickups instead of bridge and neck pickups, because I have never seen a pickup at the back of an instrument...

We've just done the first of two gigs today... We had the 1350-1420 slot at Rebellion Festival Arena. We played there two years ago and the sound was awful, boomy, feedback and generally horrible. So now they've put the stage facing across the room, and it's now the best sounding room at the Festival! For the first time in many years I went directly into the PA from my Helix. Our other bass player used the supplied AmpegSvt and Fridge. As a result, he was happy with trousers flapping indistinct mush, and I was very happy with a slightly slappier JJ Burnell-esque tone which suited my far too many notes style. We played ok, a number of mistakes due to nerves from our two new members and also a serious lack of rehearsal, but I shall eventually beat the songs into them good'n'hard. However, audience of 2-300 seemed happy (we were up against 4 other bands in the other Winter Gardens venues, plus the Typhoon and Red arrows flypast at Blackpool airshow. Afterwards we didn't get a kicking, and even sold some merch... Gear- Sandberg Basic, Helix, PA. Shoes - TUK zebra creepers. T-shirt - original UKSubs Another Kind of Blues from about 1978-9.

It depends on the church doesn’t it? I think the grindy bethel style bass makes little sense unless you’re in a setting where there’s a big stage and band. Personally it’s my opinion that some of the vibe led, minimal melody songs we have been using in the last few years just arent amazing for communal sing worship unless you go big and loud and very front led - which I’m not sure would work for the majority of U.K. churches and I would question why we would want to as part of our worship (other than the PA team want a big new PA and the guitarists have all gone bought that new big sky mx and want to use it) So short answer - if you can do synth stuff and it adds to the music - go for it!

When I played, I did so without effects (and indeed, without effectiveness). It felt unnecessarily complicated to add layers of effects to so short a setlist. Indeed, I never even touched the pickup selector or tone controls. Any variation that I wanted, I could achieve with different finger-placement on the plucking hand.

I joined a tribute band a couple of years ago. We do about 40 gigs a year all over the country - Scotland to Cornwall - and we get decent pay per gig. I’m the sort who likes to be open and honest so I called my car insurer to tell them I had taken a part-time role as a musician and needed to amend my policy for business miles. I had heard of a friend’s friend who had difficulty claiming when his car was smashed up on the way home from a gig as he hadn’t mentioned his gigging so I wanted to avoid any such hassle and was prepared to pay a bit extra to avoid it. My insurer’s reaction to my call was to establish whether this was really work or a hobby. Their cut-off seemed to be no more than two gigs a month and little or no overall profit would be a hobby. I confirmed it was a bit more than that but I wouldn’t be getting rich. They then asked when my next gig was and told me they would cancel my policy from the day before as they didn’t insure musicians or entertainers! It was very difficult to get new insurance at short notice. All the household names refused to insure me as a musician but eventually, through a specialist broker, I got some at twice the price of the previous policy. The broker specializes in entertainment clients but could only find one obscure company willing to insure me. This policy is now coming up for renewal in a few months and I am considering my options. Clearly, many people will be within the hobby definition and that’s fine. Some others may be making a profit but not telling their insurance company. You guys and gals don’t need to reply to this. My question is to those of you who are making a living/profit of some sorts from gigging, especially other tribute band members, and have declared this to your car insurers: Who insures you? If you are feeling especially helpful, a DM with some idea of the cost of your policy plus the car you have, annual & business mileage would be appreciated. I’ll happily share my details with you. I understand not everyone will want to make this public and I will keep all such data confidential. I’m guessing there must be more than one company out there insuring working musicians so I’m hoping you can help me find them. Thanks in advance!
