I do agree Tom, but without the original packaging, I'd be concerned about sending this out into courier world. I also much prefer potential buyers to confirm they are happy with the item in person before they purchase. However, if a buyer would be prepared to arrange collection by their preferred courier I could source appropriate packaging.

In that situation I’d recommend someone picking up the phone for a 1:1 chat with the singer (within hours), and easing his burden by feeding back to the others… That said, I understand your reaction, is this the latest in a long line of resent? It sounds like there are no strong friendships in this group, and no leader as such, maybe the singer has taken on more than they’d like by filling that gap & isn’t getting the appreciation & support they need? Best of luck

I like the look without the case - it's smaller, and probably substantially lighter too. But they should sell it with a gig bag, like they did with the first-gen Rootmasters. Although maybe not with the wool lining!

And maybe worth mentioning a big plus of the XS-1 is the Drop is a one way street: only down. Word on that same street is that the XS-1 not only up-shifts, but has one of the best octave-ups in the business. Looks like my OC-5 could be heading for the exit, too!

I've wanted one of these since they first appeared so seeing a used one at Guitar Guitar the other day I had to have it. Anyway the bass arrived at tea time and I took it straight to band rehearsal and unsurprisingly it acquitted itself brilliantly. What a bass - tonally its right up my street and the Neve 2EQ sounds terrific - though GG shipped it with a couple of dud batteries so I noodled around on it in passive mode till I could put 2 x9v in there. Love the magnetic battery cover btw! Love the neck too - and the fit and finish is top drawer. Whats not to like?

My worst was a blues/jazz bar. 110 mile round trip. We played to three friends, two bar staff and a couple of locals for a decent fee. They depended on students and term had ended, and live music was the chain's schtick. Worst bit... they had us booked three weekends in a row, the staff loved us and wanted us back and the deal was worth it. But... they recommended us to the chain's venue local to us. Downside access was awful so after 2 gigs we stopped going there.

Depends on the musicians. Obviously a full room is preferable, but I can play easily to an empty room if the band, the drummer and the set are good. Also, if the only person watching is the promoter then you've got to give 110%, to prove that the empty room is not your fault.

It's the only downside to my AVII.

FaitalPRO 12PR320 12" X 2
JPJ posted a topic in Accessories & Other Musically Related Items For Sale
I have a pair of new old stock FaitalPRO 12PR320 12" drivers sitting here doing nowt. This is the driver used in the Basschat 1x12” cab design (Mk1 I believe). I was going to build a 2x12 cab using these but then a lovely Vanderkley 2x12 came up local to me so the project has been shelved. I also have a complete set of good quality plywood panels to construct the 2x12 available to go with them but due to the weight, the plywood will be collection only. So £250 collected, or buyer to pay postage on the drivers. Plywood available as a package deal with the drivers for an additional £50 but collection only.-

Tanita Tikaram at an instore performance at Assai Records Edinburgh on Saturday. I loved her early stuff, went right off her for a while and recently discovered her again.

Very sensible. Most people underestimate how bad they look on a stage wearing shorts. I used to gig with a guitarist who had ultra thin, ultra white and hairless pipe cleaner legs. With his rotund torso he looked like a joke in his shorts. It was beyond embarrassing. I've done many stupid things in my life but gigging in shorts was never one of them.

Yea, I think that Daphne Blue / tort is possibly my favourite P bass finish, although sunburst / tort is always a classic as well...

The older I get the more lax I get with reading what is actually there. And proof reading, but will come as no suprise to my followers. Imagine my surprise when I did not hear The Cardigans when I pressed play.

You are a man of great taste. I don’t like to see it personally, it just looks wrong to my eyes. I did it once, during covid, for one of those livestream affairs in the middle of summer, never again.
