I'll keep quiet if you will. 😂

I haven’t compared them personally, but a guy who bought one of The Duke from me, told me, it sounded quite the same as Fender PV63.

Up for grabs is my Moon JJ4. Ebony fretboard, brass nut, the body looks like alder... The preamp is the legendary Bartolini TCT, the original Marcus Miller preamp. Мany scratches and dents on the body. The neck is straight, the frets are polished. 4.240 kg Hard to beat (at any price) in terms of sound, playability and craftmanship.

Ibanez LACS. Anyone got any hands on experience with one?
Hellzero replied to binky_bass's topic in General Discussion
There's a very nice one at a decent price right now on Reverb: Ibanez LA Custom Shop SDGR 5-String Fretless Bass - Natural https://reverb.com/item/92379215 -

There's a James Jamerson bass line that I return to time and time again, because it's so inventive and there's so much to learn from it. This bass line is from Marvin Gaye's classic, 'What's Going On'. Jamerson is at his finest in this iconic song and and although this bass line is full of syncopation, time displacement, chromatic ideas and enclosures, it still grooves. It just flows perfectly in and out of the vocal line. I've started a brand new YouTube series called 'Bass Lines That Changed Music Forever', and this bass line features in the very first video of the series. I'd love for you to leave me a comment under the video with suggestions of any other bass lines that you think may be worthy to feature in this series. Enjoy!

Used that with the band yesterday and it is ok, not super bright but in the right place it works well - but transport wise, anyone got a recommendation for a bag to put it in?

Thread resurrection. Following my recent Hoppus-esque Modern Prometheus build, I'm in need of another case. With Tourtech cases (or whatever they're called now) seemingly unavailable anywhere, I've pulled the trigger on a Thomann ABS case. £79 delivered. It's not going to see anywhere near the action of the the Tourtech cases, so it should be fine. Will report back. I was thinking about buying a Ritter Bern gigbag, but the ABS makes for easier storage.

HELLO Basschatters! I've joined an Alanis Morissette tribute this year, and the bass on her songs turns out to be enchanting, sometimes complex, supportive and really interesting to play. If you're a fan of her work, and you can make it to Reading in Berkshire, come and check us out tonight: Facebar is here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/wYr6u83XvQDjPjyX7 Tickets from Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/jagged-little-alanis-alanis-morissette-tribute-band-tickets-1116495962479 The band's accessible from http://jaggedlittlealanis.co.uk - CHEERS m'BASS DEERS Andy W

Truss rod adjustment - the hierarchy of horror
tauzero replied to tauzero's topic in Repairs and Technical
Which is why I said you need to know which way to turn the truss rod - I do have a 2000 Thumb but I don't think I've had to adjust the trussrod on it. -
Oh wow, a Mustang in Antigua finish... definetly didn't see that one coming 😅 I actually think it looks pretty cool tbh!

I'd agree, I like the headstock and anything is better than the sire one, even fender!

No, you want to have a good holiday, metaphorically put your feet up and relax, not have a load of stuff from back home to deal with whilst away.

jay-syncro started following USA Musicman Stingray - 30" Short Scale
-
I recently got this in a trade and as lovely as it is, I could do with generating some cash. I'm currently selling a USA P and an ACG at rock bottom prices and they haven't sold, so here we go. USA Musicman Stingray short scale in a gorgeous metallic deep red colour. The bass is very light (3.5kg/7.8lb), is exceptionally well built, feels fantastic and is so easy to play! It comes with La Bella flats fitted and some rounds in the case. It comes with the wonderful scaled-down Musicman hard case that fits the bass perfectly. Collection from Margate, or I can box it up if you'd like to organise a courier.

From Pip Millett to the OG. Part 3 features Donald 'Duck' Dunn’s bass line on Otis Redding’s version of "Try a Little Tenderness".
-
Did you reach a decision over whether to order in the end? We'll start the mould after Oct 9th (due to public holiday)
-
No. Being in a band is like being married. You have to treat each other with respect or it won’t work. You’ve been fair and honest. Turn off your phone and have an amazing holiday.

I sound similar through both my amps mid shape selected, treble boosted a bit for some snap and bass boosted a little and a little grind on the sound too Sound man at a gig I did a couple of years ago complimented my sound during soundcheck When I joined the U2 Tribe (we The Policed were supporting them one night) they all said how they liked my bass sound

Guys, on Thursday our singer dropped a message into our ‘serious’ WhatsApp group (as opposed to our regular chat which is full of memes and in-jokes). Long story short, it was ‘We need to chat, I’ve got a lot going on and I’m not in a good place. I want this to come out through me and not for you to find out later…etc etc’ Now I’m off on holiday tomorrow with my wife and we’ve been looking forwards to this holiday for literally years (we last went abroad in 2019). So I said ‘that’s cool, but we need this sorted and out in the open before I go away, because this isn’t going to hang over my holiday. 3 of us (4-piece band) could manage several dates and times, but the singer couldn’t make any of them. We offered a group call but he didn’t respond. Today, we discussed the opportunity of meeting tomorrow AM just before I go away, but once again he can’t make it ‘so it’ll have to be when you get back’ in response I left the ‘serious’ group chat with a message saying ‘I’m not dealing with this on my holiday, someone came rejoin me in this group when I get back’ I’m certain it’s p***ed him off as he hasn’t even reached out to say ‘are you ok?’ (I’m not). Unlike the other 2 guys who both checked in with me in no time. Have I overreacted?
