Smart move. Leave them to go deaf and don't join them.

That’s been up for sale on quite a few different sites for a long time , I’ve seen it before, not one for me

It looks mostly genuine, but I'd agree with Hellzero in really not liking the look of all the cracks on the bass; all over the body, and that one on the headstock/neck too. It's probably not about to fall apart, but that body has had some mistreatment over the years. It is very cheap for a '64 but for that money I'd much rather get a late '60s CBS in good condition.

I would hate to be put in that position but yes, good call. There have been a couple of bands where my decision not to accept an offer to join has been based partly on their excessive volume.

Another day, another Legion. Used my analogue mixer for this one as the Singer likes to be able to turn himself up as we get louder later on. Quicy set up the levels on both mains and monitors. All good until, he twiddled and we got feedback. Then he commuted the cardinal sin of cupping the sphere on his SM58. Deep joy, more feedback. The analogue desk goes back in its box next week and the singer will join it if he does not behave.

What are your irrational prejudices? I have some bonkers ones...

I probably should have said "fretting hand". I'll edit that now. -

I guess that's one of the questions that is answered by "It depends." People earn a living and play some great lines with techniques that make me pull a face, good luck and all power to 'em, but I'll be listening to them, not watching their hands. -

Roger bought some strings from me. Friendly communication throughout, prompt payment and he took the time to let me know they arrived safely. Perfect!

I get that it's awkward and slow but is it actually unhealthy? -
For your personal record, it used to be my job and I'm glad I'm now retired when I read your poor attempts to pretend you're the most clever person on earth, when you are so stupid. You're now on my ignore list @JJMotown as I can't stand plain idiots unable to recognise their mistakes, and yes it's a plural.

Bygone music/bass shops you were fond of?

I'm Stub Mandrel and I endorse this message. Waiting for A Strings to open their new doors properly. -
Selling this bass as I originally picked it up as a backup to my main touring 4 string, a white MM with all the same mods. They’re both great basses but I don’t have as much need for a direct duplicate as I used to and it’s too good to be sat around not being played. I had it re sprayed with this smokey black burst which maintains the look of the natural grain. It’s picked up some nicks and scuffs which I’ve pictured. I love the way it looks and sad to let it go. The neck has a beautiful flame to it and it and the fretboard are unblemished. Fitted with a John East MM preamp, hipshot drop tuner and schaller style strap locks, otherwise all original and in great condition. Will ship in UK for £30 or meet in London area. Open to offers and happy to answer any questions. Thanks! James
