Full disclosure, this unit doesn't work in it's current state! I bought this item on here in March (fully working then), and it was fine up until a few days when it went pop; and now (confirmed with focusrite) has a physical fault. Could be a great project for someone with electronic skills. £45 (or near offer) plus postage, or collect in Northampton. I'm offering no guarantees, sold as seen. I cheekily put out a press release for our next gig. On friday a mate had two people tell him they'd read a good band was on next week

I read that as 'Stormy'...

The bass in the vid is the Hohner B2A. I have one. It's active. I also have a five string Steinberger Spirit. It's passive. The Hohner is a much better quality instrument. Mine is strung with piano wound (exposed core at the saddles) rounds. It zings. A proper slap monster. -

Surprised there's been no mention of the Boss WL-50, they're the best wireless adapter on the market IMO. As well as the usual advantages of freedom of movement and no coil whine/hum, they've got: a lovely chonky wireless adapter that plugs into your axe with a satisfying thunk, holds 8-12 hours charge and has a green-amber-red indicator to let you know how much charge it has left a standard Boss pedal-sized receiver / charging dock that sits nicely at the beginning of your pedal chain, runs on batteries as a backup, has a 9V out socket as well as a 6.35mm input jack just in case, and has three latency settings for emulating different cable lengths (no idea why tho lol). incredibly low latency latency of 2.3ms as standard, I believe even the most finely attuned human ear can't detect latency under 10ms 14 distinct onboard channels so despite only running at 2.4GHz even if there's a fair bit of contention at that frequency you're unlikely to collide with other signals up to 65 feet line of sight The only potential downside is if you like to store the adapter in the charging dock between sets and you keep your pedalboard unplugged, you need to remember to not fully insert the adapter otherwise it thinks it's in use and drains the battery. Boss maybe missed a trick there by not having a footswitch on the charging unit to toggle between charging modes.

After getting my Competition Burgundy Vintera II back from the workshop on Friday (it was suffering from a lot of hum and turned out to have an earth wire missing from factory), I suddenly found this morning that I have a 'Tale of Two Mustangs' on show. -

@Andyjr1515 Don't be shy... post a link to your web site. The finished articles are great... but it's the work and attention to detail that amazes me. -
Agreed @eude - I prefer @stevie’s designs! I have a feeling the TE Elf 1x10 will have to truncate the top and bottom end a fair bit, focusing on mid range efficiency. And I did briefly own a BF One10 (non tweeter) but found it a bit too coloured for my taste. And not enough ‘ping’ without a tweeter. Also the low end was tighter than I wanted…but they are very power efficient cabs… The Goodwood is massive by comparison to the others. So would have much bigger low end. And the compression driver is excellent. I’m looking at a novel solution for busking power. https://www.amazon.co.uk/ALLPOWERS-Portable-41600mAh-Generator-Emergency/dp/B09M3S5H9M?th=1&psc=1

I - and I hope the majority of people here - agree with that, but unfortunately this sort of discussion will get the thread locked. And remember, you'll never reason a person out of a position they did not reason themselves into. Anyway - moving away from politically sensitive issues*, I don't pay the BBC Compulsory Subscription, but am looking forward to hearing how dear old Rod the Sod endured a hail of p!ss bottles for the duration of his set. *Oops.

I've seen that bird-decorated organ descend before. I think it may have featured in the Live Rust film. It was battered enough to be the same prop, even if the instrument inside has changed.

Last night a new venue for Nine Lives - Maud Football Social Club. Maud is a small village with an old woman's name in rural NE Scotland. Incidentally, it's also where we rehearse, so in a way it was almost like a home gig for the band! Early one too - 8.30-11.30pm, which makes a nice change. So we rock up and are pleased to find a large, empty space for us to set up in, loads of power sockets - dream start. Not an extension reel in sight. We got set up, and got going. A few folk came through from the main bar into the function area and we had folk up dancing most of the time. I wouldn't call it super busy, but with a few folk up dancing in front of you it makes it all worthwhile. We did have some trouble getting a decent sound - the area is quite wide and whilst this did give us the ability to put the PA speakers quite far forward, it created a bit of a dead spot where people were dancing, which got complained about. Sorta solved it by angling one of the PA speakers in a bit to fire a bit more in their direction and that seemed to keep them happy, but we will have to think about counter measures for situations like this in the future - perhaps have a monitor wedge, not so much for our benefit, but for the dancers! Got some nice comments after, some folk came up to chat to us and said they had a good time, so happy days. Gear was a flock of Thunderbirds into the usual Markbass modular monstrosity. And another thing... I don't want to hear about "Thunderbird neck dive" as a default from any of you so-and-sos in the future. The way some people go on about it, I must own the only two well behaved T-birds on the planet FFS! Enough! Even the headstocks are still intact! I don't want to hear it!

Does anybody else have a dodgy temp fix that has become semi-permanent? The earth pin somehow snapped off my pedal board power cube PSU whilst in its case. An IKEA pencil in the bottom of my gig bag pocket and a quick reshape with the multitool and voila! It's now fixed to the PSU with a hair tie and after six months is proving is efficacy 😃

The battery on any of my active basses tends to lasts many months, usually well over a year. Once you figure roughly how long you can go I find it simpler to just replace batteries regularly. Having part-used batteries and fully charge ones to alternate with seems like faff that can only lead to mistakes. I change my battery once a year, done.
