  1. Past hour
  2. I've owned a few over the years, still have my first bass which is an 83 japanese Fender. Like every brand, you get good ones and bad ones. I'm less worried about what name is on it than how nicely it fits how i play. Jonny
  3. EHX Micro Pog, polyphonic up/down octave pedal, boxed with original EHX PSU and all original paperwork. Excellent condition, velcro on the back, price includes UK mainland postage.
  4. I've owned a bunch of Squiers (still have an '87-ish E serial MIJ Strat) but never owned anything with a Fender sticker on the end, and it's unlikely I ever will. I've played a bunch of Japanese Fenders, usually in shops (the original CIJ Geddy sig was superb) but have been racking my brains to think of any US Fenders I've been within sniffing distance of. Back in the very early 80s, a mate had a butchered, badly refinished old Strat, so I probably plonked around on that, and I remember trying a Jaco sig in a shop, maybe 15 years back. I think that was probably a US Custom Shop version (the price was ludicrous) but my main recollection was that it was one of the worst set-up basses I'd ever picked up, and was borderline unplayable. The Irony, I suppose, is, that if I had to pick just one bass for ever it'd be a Jazz - the sound, feel and look tick all of my boxes. Stroke of luck then, to have picked up a stunningly good late 70s MIJ copy for £60 in a pawn shop. 😎
  5. Hmm, sounds familiar.
  6. Basstalk? The one that was shut down briefly by the FBI
  7. Wow I used to tinker my best mate’s one of these before I got my own first bass. Proper blast from the past!
  8. I've got some similar low tension flats here Pete, I'll let you know how they work this evening. Either way, if I like it and report back, you buy it and don't like it, you can always send it back 👍

  12. Many thanks Chris. I was thinking TI Flats or maybe Labella LTFs, which have transformed my Epiphone Century. Can send you a used set of TIs if that would help.

  18. After two very late night finishes on Thursday and Friday at a couple of our pub residencies and back home in the small hours, which included having to deal with one of the venues that had hitherto supplied the drum kit not having one anymore, but not bothering to inform us(!), we had a real treat Sunday morning as the course band for the Hackney half-marathon for our fourth year. 8am arrive to set up and then 25,000 runners streaming passed over 2 hours which we played solidly without a break - so a bit of a marathon for us too! Made doubly special for me by having my daughter participating as a runner again this year. A complete blast and a great atmosphere! A little insta clip here to give you more of a feel for the event.
  19. Hi have you got the heel measurements please.
  20. … gets you thru the night. JL
  21. I think the F# tuning is what many going for a 6 string NG would likely tune to over regular tuning to be fair! But I agree you may want to look at removing the vinyl cover (or at least checking it can be removed cleanly) as its a little niche, don't remember seeing anything like that before!
  22. Won't get fired again!
  23. It's not very environmentally friendly. Creating trinkets that will mainly gather dust once the initial buzz has passed and the next CD is released. That's mainly what marketing and consumerism depends on. What's the objective? Raise money, or spread the band's name in the hope more people come to gigs in other towns than where your mates live, and you make money from that?
