  1. Past hour
  2. Here's one of my current builds...... The body is made from an old hardwood door and old floorboards with another mystery veneer on top...... I'm going to handmade the bridge on this one out of polished aluminium..........👍🏻🤟🏻
  3. In that case, it’s a bloody lovely bass and you should buy it immediately. Seriously, mine’s really good!
  4. Now fixed! Also further improve'lences: (1) Changed the tone cap in my D-Roc from 47nF to 100nF for more range on the tone pot. (2) Added a passive tone control to my NG2. At first I tried a dual concentric volume and tone but it never looked right (wrong finish for a start) and was fiddly. Then I fitted a push-push pot to engage a dark tone by shunting the output to ground via a 47nF cap. This meant leaving the knob sitting well clear of the body or else it wouldn't work. I didn't care for that, so I fitted a push-pull pot instead - the knobs are plenty grippy! Here it is with the passive treble cut engaged:

  7. These are ideal strings for a short scale danelectro — I put a set on my blueburst longhorn well over ten years ago and they still sound full and punchy.
  8. Great set up. Ran exactly the same rig for a few years pre covid. GLWTS
  9. Big bottom? Talk about bun cakes my girl’s got em! sorry…. Couldn’t resist…
  10. In this exact same position, feeling like do I pull the trigger on one of the online courses to get me going. Bassbuzz or SBL were my main ones but il check out that talking bass as mentioned above
  11. It's a different bass, different pickups, different preamp, even if the basis is a TRB-6P, and it's called a TRB-S. The TRB-S was quite close, but not exactly the same bass. The TRB-SII was a bolt-on iteration and the only one available in white.
  12. The original g3 I played was sooo nice. Weird as it was smooth and powerful but had a presence to it that I’d not heard before.
  13. Not everyone has a glass back - with a 10lb bass I only get a little tired after about 2hrs with it on me standing up. This will be fine. 😊
  14. that’s how I set my capo up with the GT1000core, very fun setup!
  15. I went with the extra lights. I'd read on another forum the heavier gauge were primarily for drop tunings ( not sure of the validity of that claim.) Unfortunately I put them on a new bass which is a Xmas present - it was confiscated 5 minutes after the set up so didn't get a chance to test them to make a proper opinion sound wise but they sounded great through the Spark Neo and certainly good enough to want to put them on other higher end basses
  16. There are some genuine white TRB's in the wild, as there were two generations of Tetsuo Sakurai models. However, on the most basic level they can be identified by his signature on the headstock.
  17. And sound it too!
  18. I played there a few years back, great venue. Afterwards the rest of the band got tear-gassed by the police when outside for a (very inefficient it turned out) breath of fresh air.
  19. selling my incredible 1975 Musicman HD130 amp. Bought this back in 2021 and had a flight case made it for it straight away. Was serviced just before I bought it as well. Sounds amazing.

  20. Nice one. How did you manage to get that gig ? Bet the drive home was a bummer 😂 Dave
  21. Guaranteed they make it some FOMO rush to buy an expensive Epiphone. The natural is far nicer. Guess less chance of getting one. They are pricey and my god, HEAVY!
  22. Most likely everybody knows that NS means Ned Steinberger, the designer of the bass. The first basses were available with two pickup brands (the other was DiMarzio) and with 1 or 2 pickups. NS-1 was the first unit (1 meant 1 pickup).
  23. All well and good, but... what about the sound? Flatwounds tend to have issues with cross string consistency; how are these. BTW, which set did you buy?
  24. You Can Get It If You Really Want - Jimmy Cliff Too slow, ignore me 😁
