  2. That’s his effort at stringing the listener along. Otherwise everyone would click out after 2 mins and he wouldn’t get his revenue. All of these fellow YouTubers that have made videos are doing so to take a slice of the audience share. They may not make money off a video if they share audio from the whatever the guitarist is called, but they get the increase in subscribers and ratings, as well as a boost for their other videos that do make revenue. And as for stealing licks and passing them off as your own, jazz soloists did this way back when. Only difference is they couldn’t transcribe them so easily note for note as most recordings were bootleg. As with any music you create, get it registered on PPL and PRS.
  3. Semi-Detached Suburban Mr James - Manfred Mann
  4. I’ve posted elsewhere that you have to ‘cold turkey’ working on the Stomp itself. No way is it practical to lug a computer to a rehearsal (or gig) to make any changes. You need to know how to do it on the unit. At least to a level of getting a usable sound (which is easy). Yes, all the knobs & flashing lights look daunting at first but it honestly becomes easier quite quickly. You just select and change one ‘thing’ (amp or effect) at a time. Yes, there are some parameters I generally leave - and I’m still not really sure what ‘sag’ is (something to do with the way valves behave). There are lots (prolly too many) help vids and several threads here. Whichever unit you buy you will need to learn that company’s ‘language’. It’s a shame you/we generally have to buy something before we can start.
  5. Old school death metal you say? Florida style (Death,Obituary,Morbid Angel) British (Bolt Thrower, first two Paradise Lost albums) or Goteborg (Entombed, Dismember, At The Gates)?
  6. Played The Lending Room in Leeds on Saturday supporting The Faces Of Sarah. It's a decent-sized venue with a great PA and lighting system, but is upstairs from a student pub. Every time, no matter what time of year, I have been here, the pub downstairs has been rammed full of students all in fancy dress getting very drunk. It's a complete contrast to the audience upstairs. A slightly smaller crowd than usual, but still very appreciative. Plenty of people down the front dancing. Fewer problems than two weeks ago. The footswitch problem appears to have been solved by a different choice of footwear and the wireless bug stayed firmly attached to my bass. However our singer managed to forget the words to the second verse of a different song to last time. Still sold a decent amount of T-shirts and CDs afterwards. We're close to selling out of copies of "Lost Souls", we have two gigs coming up in a fortnight's time and after those they may well all be gone. As usual gig photos courtesy of Oh My Goth: Next gigs are in two week's time first on Saturday 24th May in Bradford at the 1-12 Club as part of the ReVamped event and then on Sunday 25th in Nottingham at The Chapel as part of the Dot-To-Dot Festival.
  7. Something about this design just makes me think it would be great as a fretless. I have no idea why, having never played one. I've only heard good things about them, and with a fancy preamp I'm sure this is quite the versatile, playable bass
  8. Sexual Ealing - Marvin Gaye
  9. Today
  10. I had one, it was absolutely awesome. Great basses.
  11. Yep, as I thought, it looks like the builder did what they were asked to do 'Custom made to my specifications, I received it in April 2024'
  12. Harrow Goodbye - The Beatles
  13. Eton (mess) Rifles - The Jam
  14. Ah brilliant! 🤣 Thanks Mike - so cool to speak in real world albeit a little brief. Hope your shows played out as well as ours? I'll be honest,we had a great day with all the fun of the seaside including ice cream, seafood and a run out on a speed boat not to mention a lovely gig. ❤️
  15. Agreed on the iffy power. And yes usually packed and alot of cocktails flowing. Daryl
  16. Try taking the switcher out (and stick pedals in series) also the Nobel has a power supply in it, make sure it’s not too close to the gig rig power supply and rotate one to see if that makes a difference
  17. I weighed it last week for someone who asked for the weight and on my two spring based luggage hook scales, one shows between 11 & 12lbs and the other between 12 & 13lbs. I personally have not had any issue with it's weight, I guess i'm used to it.

  19. Yeah , True. But I’m more referring to the need to tweak the stomp via a computer to get the most out of the presets. I should rephrase and say ‘How do you find the initial ease of setup for the HX out of the box and the ability to edit it within the pedal’ With an amp I would spend time to tweak the EQ and find a sound that works on the amp and then adjust to a live setting. Most of the information online suggest that to get the most out of a HX. I’d need to plug it into my computer and spend hours tweaking effects to get decent presets.
  20. Hello, Yes, it comes in at 10.4lbs on the bathroom scales.
  21. I'd normally say option 2 (the full soundcheck) is the way forward. However, with my lot, we found that we just set our levels like we do normally and just tweak vocal levels slightly to get it right. This normally works fine until Charlie Rock Star decides to turn his guitar up to 12. ... then he would come out with 'I can't hear myself sing.' I wonder why.
  22. My band's CD is about to break even on pressing costs. It's not been a worthwhile exercise for me in that the stress involved in getting it finally recorded and ready to go, due to the disinterest of (and problems with) one member, made it an absolute chore and I ended up recording all of the guitars as well as bass on 5 of the songs that are on it in my home studio or it wouldn't have ever been finished. The band hasn't been able to play most of the songs on it because one person was totally disinterested in the project and we've only had three songs appear in our live set since it was released. It's put me right off it as a result. And I should be fiercely proud of it.
  23. Not sure, I just paid for install, a set up and the fret markers installed. The invoice wasn’t broken down
  24. We wants it, Precious, but we can't affords it. We wants it so badly!
  25. Great set up. Ran exactly the same rig for a few years pre covid. GLWTS
  26. The pedal board has no wiring to connect it to the organ - just magnetic reed switches.
