Pub gig payment methods.. online, boooo!

Me too. Have you ever worked in tax? 😁 -
Whats the best way to clean beer out of a mixing desk? Probably says enough about how our gig went last night! 🙄 Our guitarist will need to give his pedalboard a good clean as well. This is not the first time we've had 'problems' at this venue so I'm going to suggest that we cancel the remaining gigs we have there. It's really not worth the hassle.

That system was called Invapay. Very unpopular with all bands, as we had to add the website's cut to our requested payment. Several years ago they moved to SAP Concur, which sort of works once you know how to deal with it. Except its terminology is absolutely arcane and I'm still wondering if that's because it's been transliterated from German or simply because it takes the p1ss. (It calls an invoice a receipt, etc. which I really hate.) -
Ah, I wondered that! Is there any guidance on what to look for in a preamp? In my last acoustic group I went from my pedal board via a mixer to the PA, maybe a small (eg 2-3 channel) mixer would solve the problem ??

I believe it's for an American address only. However, there is a way around it, and it works, my youngest boy tried it earlier and received the code. If you head on over to VI Control and look at post one: FREE Native Instruments Komplete 15 Select @sweetwater - for limited time | VI-CONTROL If you have not been to that forum before, they regularly update many of the free VSTi's and VST's that are released: It was started in 2012, so it might be worth jumping ahead a page or two... They pay little enough. Sod paying them!! -
Not all pedal preamps are created equal! I've got several preamp pedals that happily drive an active speaker QSC K10 but I've recently become aware that not every pedal will be guaranteed to do this. I know the word 'impedance' is the incorrect term to use but effectively the output of the pedal needs to have enough juice to drive the amp section; you'd think being a preamp that this would be a given but apparently not!

Wombat started following Single PA top rather than amp?

Not a cheap solution but we have a pair of Bose F1s which ‘the whole band’ go through and I no longer need an amp. Had some nice comments about sound too from other bassists who have seen us play - when I was expecting ‘why haven’t you got an amp’. This is for a ‘pub situation’ so I can’t say (yet) if any of the ‘bassness’ would be lost in e.g. a larger hall.

Fender Classic Player Rascal Bass - Shortscale - PRICE DROP £875

For sale is my ’89 Music Man Stingray. It’s a rare light one, weighing in at a bit less than 3,9kg. The body is finished in the classic honeyburst, and the lacquered neck has some nice birdseye figuring. As you can see, the bass has a lot of usermarks/damages (especially on the back), but technically all is good. The neck is straight and the truss rod works well. The frets show some wear, but it doesn’t affect playability. All hardware and electronics function like they should, the pots could be a bit scratchy though. No case or bag included, but will be packed well if shipping is necessary. Asking €2500 Tradewise I am looking for a good Rickenbacker 4001, Fender strat or offset guitar (vintage specd), a light player grade pre-cbs Jazz Bass or precision (with added gear from my side).

I was thinking of going a similar route, as I’m also looking to get a back line solution for playing with a band again, but am also wanting a PA solution for potential solo acoustic guitar/singer performances and I’d rather not duplicate gear. Would a pedal board preamp work straight into an active PA speaker as a solution for bass? TIA

Running a Phil Jones Double Four BG75 from USB power
itu replied to lemmywinks's topic in Amps and Cabs
20 000 mAh = 20 Ah, which is quite a lot. I think the biggest issue is can you get all the current you need through the bank and the cable. There may be internal limitations in the bank how big a current is possible. If the manufacturer does not give you reasonable specs, you just have to try and find the limits by yourself. USB is not that flexible system that it looks. I would consider a battery pack of the right voltage, and a suitable charger.
