Now we’re moving away from musical equipment in general: Thanking. Yes, thanking. Singers that thank everyone and everything in between every darn song. My thanks are when you shut this shyte up and just play some songs. -

Lozz196 started following Recommendations for the John Deacon Sound

Thread resurrection time! Just watching Queen at Wembley on Sky Arts, and it’s great how when Brian May is soloing the songs don’t drop. I think this down to obviously good song arrangements with bass & drums really working well, but the bass tone as well, it not being particularly low down bassy or overly toppy but that more mid-focused sound you get from flats and a Precision.

Basses where the upper horn thingy is a slab with no gap. It's just WRONG ok! Too long gaps between songs on stage while the drummer adjusts his kit, retrieves his sticks and banters with the audience. Ok this is not irrational at all but it REALLY winds me up. People who use CAPITALS randomly in typing Ashtrays and pick up covers on P basses. JUST TAKE THE FERKIN THINGS OFF why don't you. Sound engineers who don't have a clue Shorts worn on stage unless it's a festival but then only if absolutely necessary Singers who roam out into the crowd and flirt with the audience. The band is on stage, the crowd aren't and the lines must not be crossed unless there's a fire .....I might have forgotten to take my meds today so it's back to the padded room for me

It's only 140W into 8R from memory, true, but the built in compression makes up for a fair bit of lost headroom. -

Cool. White decals are so hard to source.

I've always found CCR songs harder to pull together than you'd imagine from a casual listen, good luck 👍

The 600w Warwick Gnome iPro is also an option, about £350 as well which might be appealing if you're using it as a stopgap: -

I've just taken delivery of a Mustang bass from them and there's a section of finish missing from part of the truss rod route, I thought about keeping it as it's a cosmetic blemish but every time I look at the bass it bugs me, especially on a brand new bass. Anyway I contacted them to request an exchange and they told me it's normal and within the manufacturers standards😡 I emailed them back and asked them to please arrange exchange or refund, fingers crossed but I am not impressed so far
-
In this case, a Warwick Gnome i Pro V2 would be better as it's even a tad cheaper and more powerful.
-
So the tone pot is broken but it’s so subtle that it’s barely noticeable. My instinct is to replace the pots and wiring with a standard set up, something akin to a Gibson EB0 or similar

Hohner "The Jack" Restoration
Mediocre Polymath replied to Mediocre Polymath's topic in Build Diaries
Thanks for the tip. I got a full A4 sheet of logos printed, so I have plenty of material to practice with. I just need to find things to stick decals to. The logos are mostly the one I use for my home-built guitars, but I did get four of the Hohner logos printed, plus another four in white (because I wasn't sure how the red would come out). -
It could have been HOHNER It's Back because of your effort.

Further to my recent post about our newly purchased but used rcf 710s.We used them for only the second time today but outside at a small venues summer season.2x vox, banjo, double bass and suitcase bass drum were handled with ease.Although not blasting but still reasonably loud the sound remained crystal clear and punchy.Just like phil starr thought they would.we definitely prefer these to our previous srm450s.Small sweaty pub next week so see how they go there

Long ago it was 3 h/d, but nowadays maybe 6 h/week. Not much, should be more.

Yep good idea TE Elf is very good but may struggle into only 8ohms ? -
If it's not too late, you can use warm water with a drop of washing up liquid in it to make the decal slide around on the surface of the paint so that you can position it more easily.
