It does depend on how much power the router actually needs <doh obviously>. I have a small travel router with wifi and a sim card slot sitting on my desk (somewhere) that is easily powered by a USB port. It's matchbox sized and I used it for hotels with a cheap local sim when abroad. Would I be able to power an OpenWRT router, no! Depends on your requirements. Rob
-
No, it's the wrong end, so as to speak. The XR12/XR16 are USB hosts, so they can supply USB power, while the XR18 is a USB device - a receiver of power rather than a giver of it.

Just a note to say that I will be travelling down from Aberdeen to the SE Bass Bash next weekend - so if you live somewhere along a rough line between Aberdeen, via Glasgow, North Yorkshire, down to the Eastern fringes of the capital, and fancy this bass delivered personally to your door then let me know. This offer does not extend to inside London - I'd rather post it than drive into London, lol. PM me if this is useful to your bass acquisition activities...

SteveXFR started following Boss tu3 semitone high
-
Im using a Boss TU-3 tuner pedal and after checking against a few other devices, I've come to the conclusion that its reading a semitone high. I checked the reference frequency by pressing both buttons together and its set to 0 which I believe means 440hz. Any ideas?

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!LeftyJ replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Bass Guitars LeCompte makes some interesting pickups, with those triple pole pieces. They were on my radar through NoTreble, who made their creations Bass of the Week several times. This one stood out to me, I love the body shape which appears to blend the offset waist of the Jazz Bass and something a bit Wal or Shergold like. LeCompte Electric Bass - SHR - Short Scale Interestingly, they spec this one as a 30.3" scale model.

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!eude replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Bass Guitars Is that better or worse than 791.972mm? Weird choice, but might be based on available string lengths, as I would guess the reverse headstock might let you have a full scale E string without any of the wound string on the tuner? I doubt the reverse headstock will make much difference if any to the tension, as the witness points on the nut and bridge are where that's determined. It's a rather tasty looking bass though, I have to say!

Absolutely brilliant band. I knew nothing about them until I watched one of those 'Behind the Music' style documentaries and became an instant fan. I'm Mandy Fly Me is a personal favourite but the hits are all great!

Nicely done - don't think you'll do much better for £120. I think I played one of those a few years ago. Was quite tempted, even at full price.

Here we have a boxed, hardly used set of schaller M4-90 light tuners / machine heads. 4 in line, Right handed. Box is marked from storage but everything’s there. I’ll consider a deal if you want to also purchase the matching 3D-4 roller bridge I have listed separately here: Currently £79 but out of stock on Thomann. P&P will be around £5 on top. Cheers!

I've never had any problems with sheet cut to size at B&Q. First half dozen or so cuts are free rest about 50p each?

https://www.crimsonguitars.com/collections/fretting/products/fret-rocker-for-guitar-bass-and-now-mandolin-and-ukulele Just over £20 for a fret rocker, the new one has expanded a bit to cover other instruments, but I have had my older style crimson fret rocker a long time (which was closer to the stumac shape) and its been great. I can't imagine importing stuff directly from the US at those prices when there are all the tools you need made just down the A37!

Vocal Microphones, what are you using?Stub Mandrel replied to Phil Starr's topic in PA set up and use I got an SM57 off Temu for £8.50 🤣 just to see what you get. Arrived yesterday. Looks right, but no Shure branding. Clearly less well made than a real one, but does appear to have rubber suspension (a bit firmer than the real one). Awful clip, decent bag. A xlr to unbalanced jack lead that looks like it's 1970s. The connector was wired unbalanced, so corrected that and it works. I have a big collection of cheap & mid price microphones. I'm thinking of a way to test them, and bexdure which are worth keeping. Possibly a cheap spectrum analyser and put them in front of a white noise source as a rough and ready approach. Would be fun to do a Microphone Shootout.
