  2. I've just been playing around with my pedal board with the Veyron. I've a preamp pedal and a compressor pedal on it. I used to use them to for tone shaping. Absolutely redundant now (bar the tuner pedal). The Veyron sounds better without the pedals. I don't even have to adjust the tone controls on the amp either. Anyone want a pedalboard? 🤣🤣
  3. 1974-76 Diplomat Jazz bass - Made in Japan and looks to be similar to the Cimar 1905 model - but branded Diplomat who I think were a Kiwi brand? I had one of these years back and it was amazing. A really fun playable bass, that was just enjoyable to play. A mate took it off me and still uses it regularly. I've kept my eyes open for one ever since... spotted this, did it up with new bridge and fixed the wiring with two new pots and got it all set up and... It is a really fun playable bass and enjoyable to play... but unlike years ago I've got 3 other basses that do that jazz bass thing, including my main one, and I can just see this gathering dust... so offering it up for sale or trade, just to get money back £180 or trades The Good Its a fun bass to play It's pretty light weight Solid Ash body Mostly original and it really good condition for the age Nice vintage style sound The original bridges on these are evil things with sharp screws - it was also missing two parts - I replaced it with a Gotoh Sets up and intonate well Looks cool really nice neck to play Save money compared to an original 70's fender Comes with old sadowsky blue rounds AND a set of flats that came with it. The look, sound and feel like TI jazz flats I've got on my other bass but I'm only 95% sure they are - I'll set it up for you with either. The Bad From the era just before Japanese basses became accurate - so note the square heel and I think it's 33.5inch scale. Pickups are normal size but with the classic curved ends. So if classic Japanese basses aren't your thing and you are looking for a mod platform - it will do that but not be drop-in for fender parts. With where the bridge pickup was tucked close to the bridge to fit under the original cover, and with the Gotoh bridge being a fair bit longer it looks like the bridge and pickup are closer than a 34in fender bass. The bridge probably could go back a bit if you wanted. The Ugly It could probably do with shielding to get it quieter So it's a fairly cheap, fun, old bass. Anyone have any love for it? Trades... try me, P basses, Telecaster copies, jazz master, Microkorg or similar simple synth... I also seem to like trying effects pedals... .
  4. Back plate = 3D printing project?
  5. Help me, Basschat patrons, you're my only hope! My trusty Blacksmith amp took a bit of a tumble offstage, which resulted in the shearing of three of the EQ knobs and shafts. I've tried to contact TC through the MusicTribe forums but after an hour of going round in circles, im losing the will to live! Do any of you wonderful people know where I can pick up replacements? I appreciate that this will probably need new pots as well
  6. Decided to sell my Mono M80 dual bass case. Used literally twice to get me to studios and back so pretty much brand new. An excellent and well-designed piece of kit but I’ve come to the realisation that my back can’t manage two of my basses in one big case on public transport. Would really prefer to have this collected from Peckham SE15 or could meet up somewhere in London. I don’t have the original box (it was massive!). Here’s my feedback thread on here for anyone interested
  7. Yeah, thanks. I got him to send me a photos and it doesn’t have that port. Ive ordered a Plus from AliExpress. Ive gotta give it a go before i send the 60+ back (if i do). Its one of those things that I’ll always think “did it work’ lol. I can always use it with my keyboards or other things anyway so dont mind too much.
  8. Much the same as everyone else here. Learn the songs, create your own notes if they help and enjoy it. I’m doing a wedding next week and haven’t received anything yet. No songs or set list. Or even the address. This is how it works I guess!
  9. I get it, I had to buy a couple of SKB cases for my business a couple of years back the UK agent said that their stock was low due to so many units going to Ukraine (a lot of military tech is 19” rack format). SKB cases are military grade and withstand pretty much everything from extreme in temperature to humidity and moisture to shock to impact. Your gear’s safe in one of these 👍
  10. That's gorgeous - one of the best-looking Ricks I've seen - I really think they're getting it right with the current generation. Only wish it wasn't around £2500 outside my budget! GLWTS!
  11. host plus version says "host" above button B
  12. Thanks. I have a feeling it’s the standard one then. A mate has it and i could borrow it, although it’s a bit of hassle getting it.
  13. Could you engrave one on the fretboard at 12th fret position? Inlay with Luminlay? Sorry for the mad ideas, I'm just terribly jealous of your dad getting such a great present!
  14. There’s two versions - the original and the plus - both can come with by adapter - the plus version will do midi host. I’ve not actually owned one, @rwillett has…
  15. Also interested if anyone has any experience with these being Modern C and if it's a like for like to the Fender Modern C. I have that on my Squier CV and it is legit the hardest thing to move away from. Love it!
  16. Do you know if the one that comes with a BT adapter will work? I can get hold of that quickly
  17. Hi, For sale the above, in full working order and great condition. Not needed now, recording finished. Price includes UK Mainland Delivery.

  20. After a lot of stroking of the chin, I decided to try and test the tweeters using: A 9V battery A small amplifier Battery test I disconnected the tweeter input legs from the chock blocs and put a 9V across them. I could hear a distinct click as I put power on them. Nothing more. I am assuming that indicates they are probably working. Small amplifier I <ahem> borrowed my daughters little amp, looks like this. Then realised I had nothing that that had a phone input to drive the amplifier. So I 'borrowed' my youngest daughters rather elderly iPad which actually has a headphone socket on it. My iPhone and iPad doesn't have a headphone out. Connected a set of speaker wires to one side, plugged the iPad in and then realised my youngest is a massive Taylor Swift fan and that was all she had. <sigh> I disconnected the Eminence speaker and connected the wires so it went to all of the four tweeter array. I could hear Taylor Swift. However the music sounded very tinny, quite poor quality and very quiet. That is not a passive-aggressive comment on Taylor Swift. I'm not sure what it should sound like through four tweeters. I would have thought better than this though. I then connected the Eminence speaker up and tried again and it sounded fine. So I'm still unsure if I have a tweeter problem or not. Just the tweeters sounded rubbish to me. I have no idea if the tweeters would sound reasonable, it sounded like a 1950's 1" speaker in a crap transistor radio. Any comments welcomed. Thanks Rob
  21. I hate these control plates without soldered ground wires. Cheapo. If any of the screws in that plate is loose, anything can happen.
  22. hello Shan apologies, i've only just found your question from last September i was having radiotherapy treatment then and somehow missed your post i don't have experience of the 6 string Sinsonido acoustic travel guitar but i believe it uses the same electret bridge pickups and very similar electronics, so these Bass preamp circuits should work with minor changes (e.g. Tone component values) hope this helps
  23. ^This entirely. Not many of those out there and they sound great.

  25. I don't have a digital caliper to measure it with such exact precision. But I imagine those specifications can be found on the Fodera website.
  26. Wow, I’ve been thinking about getting a 5/er Precision and they are few and fat between, and that is stunning 👍
