  1. Past hour
  2. Indeed, and my suggestion elsewhere of a multimeter between the battery and the clip wouldn't show up battery drain if it only happens when the preamp is in situ. I think you could detect that with a multimeter and a stereo jack plug by checking the resistance between ring and sleeve, which should be open circuit (have been trying to work out if you could have a situation where the preamp powers up with ground and battery negative not connected to each other, and I don't think you can but ICBW).
  3. Friday is the pickup day. 😎
  4. Cheers all, I've been listening though the recommendations and added to my playlist for deeper digging. This has always been a favourite of mine: Underground Vegetables - Melting Pot
  5. Manet Rivers to Cross - Jimmy Cliff
  6. Monet For Nothing - Dire Straits
  7. I put a wanted ad on here and got it for £255 posted which seems fair
  8. That seems a little imprudent?
  9. My old instruments. Downsized the amount of 5 strings.
  10. I've been out of transcribing for a few years as the function bands I played for had everything charted, and the other bands were originals. I started learning 'I Was Made to Love Her' by Stevie Wonder a few weeks ago. I'm trying to get it note for note and by heart without writing it out. I can just about play the first half!
  11. McMillen Batt-O-Meter. Tells you what the battery voltage is under load. https://www.thomann.co.uk/keith_mcmillen_batt_o_meter.htm
  12. would also accept trade for an iPad pro T.Hanks
  13. He’s had it for decades. It’s a 1980’s refinished by a guy called Vic Vella who worked for Maiden in the early days and then went on to work for Steve. It’s a beautiful bass.
  14. Cracking job there - looks awesome. The very best of luck to you guys
  15. Water lily was here - Candy Dulfer
  16. I like it. It's like what you see when you take the cover off of a Japanese motorcycle cylinder head.
  17. He’s been using that one with bl for a good few years. I first remember seeing him use it in 2015 iirc
  18. Just sold my Warwick Star Bass to Baz, lovely chap, can talk bass for hours and hours (like the rest of us). Great coms, turned up when he said he would, ace basschatter. Would have zero qualms about dealing with him again. 👊🏻
  19. That's a very nice example of a rare bass, and I would say a very good price. Fwiw there are MIJ Washburn & Daion/Yamaki - specific FB groups where there might be significant interest in something like this. GLWTS!
  20. Today
  21. Apart from all the usual suspects mentioned, there is Joey Defranceso, who unfortunately passed away a couple of years back aged 51. A multi instrumentalist and superb musician. His Hammond playing is terrific with amazing Bass pedal playing. There is plenty on YouTube and definitely worthy of a mention on the OP's list:
  22. Possibly. There is a certain aspirational lifestyle that involves a kind of self consciously cool parody persona that only resonates with certain people IMO. It’s not particularly subtle or requiring much in the way of imagination but does seem to require a lot of money and effort.
  23. Very nice! GLWTS, Ash 👍
