To each their own. That’s not my experience of the Beta. I’ve always used it as a very gentle drive and found it great. It also did lovely things to the envelope filter I had sat after it.

I've got my beady eye on something, so this lovely condition 2023 Aubergine Fender American Performer Mustang is first for the chopping block. It's been with me for a few months and is set up beautifully with 40-95 Elixirs (of course!) Plays like a dream and is in excellent condition with no scratches or dings that I can see. It has only been used for one set on one gig in our live tribute show, so it's not earning its keep and therefore has to go. Comes complete with bill of sale from original owner and the original Fender Deluxe Gig Bag & case candy. *The American Performer Mustang is also another instrument in the line (since the Highway 1 series Jazz/Precision) which utilises the 'Grease Bucket' tone control, which lowers tone without losing bass/volume.* I would record you a demo, but I'll let 'Nick Campbell Destroys' do the honours below - he does a lot better job than me! For sale at £825. (New price is £1400 these days!) Interesting trade options considered. Buyer to collect, or can meet half way at a distance of up to 100 miles from DE7.

2012 Gibson Grabber G3 70’s Tribute - Now £875

Price drop now £115! Inspired by both new and old, the AfterLife has FOUR different internal analog circuits that provide 2 distortions and 2 fuzzes. Providing plenty of headroom and a ton of gain, these four selections will cover all the distorted ground you’ve got. While the outside boasts a lone Mode selection knob and a Volume control, there’s more under the hood to this one. Internal adjustable trimpots are available for all four modes, with parameters like overall Volume, Bias, Gain and Filter. The enclosure is 100% Solid Aircraft Aluminum Machined. The artwork on the front and back is laser-engraved, and each AfterLife pedal is 100% hand-wired and hand-built. Collect from Chesterfield or add £5 for UK postage. Cheers! Sam

The Stagepas looks a good bet if you need the controls on the front and the compact size. If you are going to drive it from the PA I've used the RCF ART 310 as floor monitors for years and they are great with oodles of power.

Good god, one of those Mullard valves in working order is worth money on it's own and a working Treble and Bass....... Please don't take it to just any old repairer, this needs proper restoration and the choice of components used will affect the value of the restored amp, so money saved on a cheap and cheerful fix is going to be money lost. I'd be hoping to keep the amp and speakers together. Any sixties band is going to want that look. What a find:)

Time has come to let go of this great bass rig. Had this for gigs but only got through one before the band had issues again. If I play again will be going to a power amp/modelling pedal and In ear setup as most of the places I can practice are quiet or have cabs available. Head was a purchase through Ashdown as a last chance with the warranty etc it has some dents scratches on it but all works great and is a powerful great sounding beast. I love Ashdown have had many over the years ABMs/CTMs/LBs this one is brilliant has all you expect from an ABM a professional level amp. 600w 9 band Eq Dual UV for input and output Speakon outs Foot switch option (not included) Size 135mm x 474mm x 320mm (£400 Ono collection preferably but could post at cost) Markbass MB58R 104 PURE Bass Cab 4ohm 800watt version This is a light exceptionally portable bass cab With great bass response which is surprising after you have carried it in. Has an adjustable tweeter and is just a great cab. Weight is around 16kg so an easy one person lift. Sounds great is great would keep it but is just taking up spare room space. Crossover Frequency: 3.5 Khz Frequency Response: 40hz to 20khz Sensitivity Db Spl: 103 Db Impedance: 4 Ohms Reflex: Rear 578mm x 600mm x 470mm (£500 on its own but collection only on the cab as wouldn't have a box etc) Any questions feel free to ask.

Listen to the man. It's a very long time since I had to calculate the size of a heatsink for a power amp but every component in your amp comes with detailed notes about the heat produced and needing to be dissipated. Look at the back of any 70's/80's power amp and you'll see huge finned aluminium heatsinks and these had to be carefully calculated to keep the internal temperature of the power transistors down below the temperature at which they would fail. You now have more power packed into pocket sized amps and thought the class D amps are more efficient huge amounts of heat have to be handled by those tiny fans. Every step from the internals of the component to the surface then across the surface to the internal heatsink and out to the fan has been calculated by someone. In a way dropping a new fan into an amp is like dropping an engine into a car, have you checked that the transmission, supension and brakes are up to the task of a bigger engine? Without the calculations I think the question is "do you feel lucky?"

This is my MIK Spector Q4 pro, it’s in pretty much spotless condition, there are no marks I am aware of on this bass. I bought it from BassBros a while back and love it, however I have just purchased another (sadly, more expensive Spector ) so this has to go. It’s set up lovely, sounds just like a Spector should, it has the EMGHZ twin soap bar pickups and the EMG BTS circuit and this model has a non curved body. It’s a lovely bass. I do have packaging or collection or meet within 1hr drive of Milton Keynes. Any questions, just ask. Cheers Steve

Small "Hifi" amp head recommendations sought!
BassAdder60 replied to andyhaines's topic in Amps and Cabs
I have the MarkBass LM IV and with the newer 58R series lightweight cabs it sounds very transparent Older MarkBass cabs sounded woolly to me or dark perhaps in tone. I’ve had EICH T900 and TE1200 and the LM IV is as good in tone and can go warm / vintage with the old school control -

Got this in a trade on here recently but it’s just not got much use. Between the green Russian and the grey stache that I own I have my fuzz needs covered. This one is two big muffs running in parallel, one of them has a standard tone control, the other has a mid boost/cut. Certainly a lot to play with and a lot of sounds to be gotten out of it! No original box with this but will be packaged securely. Price will include postage in the UK
