Paper actually! Before I get deeper into the layout I’m waiting to see whether the custom chassis I ordered can be made 1cm bigger front-to-back.

These seem to be getting a bit rarer but despite chasing one of these for years after selling my first i think i need to acknowledge my back needs some lighter weight gear. Here we have a USA made SVT III which preceded the current 3pro's. This one has the much famed SVT IIP preamp couples with a big old led sled solid state power amp. 3 x 12AX7's give it a nice throaty growl but there is no full on valve distortion here just a nice old school type roar. Is missing one slider cap but can still be changed with a plectrum - not that i use the graphic EQ anyway. A few of the pots could do with a blast of deoxit as the amp has been set at my fave EQ and never really changed. I dont have a rack case or anything so ideally its collection from Bolton only but could meet within reason. Possibly consider a part ex for an Ashdown Little Bastard/CTM30 Pics to follow asap

Price drop - £295 It says it's an EastCoast but it is identical in every way to the Stagg version, so I assume they were made in the same factory at the same time. Very good condition. Comes with arm rest, stand, case, bow and roisin. Since injuring my hand earlier this year it's too difficult for me to play now, so I'm hoping someone else can make use of it. Type: Electric upright double bass Size: 3/4 Top: Solid maple Neck: Solid maple Bridge: Ebonized hardwood Nut: Plastic, black Machine heads: P-bass style, diecast, nickel Electronics: Volume and bass control Low battery indicator 3.5 mm (1/8") stereo mini jack input for phone or MP3 player 3.5 mm (1/8") mini jack output for headphones 6.35 mm (1/4") jack output Accessories included: Gigbag, bow, roisin, stand Colour: White/Cream

Intermittent faults are the worst. You so often find that they disappear as soon as you get time to look for them only to come back at the least convenient moment. To be fair you've located the problem to the mains input so this time it shouldn't be too tricky or expensive to fix. Have fun

Call me a convert. I bought a 4 string set to try out and was quite impressed. Well worth the price and compare favourably with some name-brand alternatives that cost 3-4 times as much. -

Apparently I joined in December 2007. Hardly seems possible. I don't think I was on Bassworld, but I used to hang out on News Groups like The Bottom Line in the late 90's/early 2000's - anyone remember them??
