  1. Past hour
  2. There's some comfort in knowing it was a one-off at least.
  3. Definitely US. This came from a parts bass made by a Sadowsky employee. No real markings on it to identify as such. The pickups were scrubbed out and headstock left blank for fear of repercussions. I still have the neck - Brazillian rosewood fingerboard, Graphtech nut, Schaller tuners.
  4. I’ve watched a few videos when he has collaborated on SBL and he is nowhere near the calibre of Ian, Scott or their usual guest list. At least he can play but doesn’t put out anything I find interesting.
  5. I think Santa might stretch to a wireless setup, I'm trying to convince him that I also need a new bass.....😂
  6. Another successful gig last night using the BR15. I had to turn the bass up to 5 o'clock and the treble to 3 o'clock to balance the sound through the PA and it sounded fantastic. The EQ on the mixer was set completely flat so I could check out how the pedal sounded.
  7. I didn't watch the programmes to find out all about the personal histories of the people presenting them but to have great basslines deconstructed. I realise that this wouldn't be a note-by-note analysis (which wouldn't interest the non-bass-playing majority) but might have some talk about (for example) technique (slapping in episode 2, plectrum technique in episode 3) or timing (ahead, on, or behind the beat, episode 3). It didn't matter whether I knew who she was or not, it was the content that I was watching it for.
  8. You are Charles Berthoud and I claim my £5....
  9. Unfortunately some unexpected emergency costs have come up, so price drop bump in the hope I can move this on sooner. £600 inc shipping 🤞
  10. he's alright .. it's all a bit of an act and it turns out he can actually play quite well ..oh and he hates 5 stringers ...so he isn't a total dipstick in my book.
  11. Ya know, I did give this some careful thought at the time, but I wasn't expecting the answerphone because Mr B was expecting my call. I've found sometimes no matter how carefully I choose my words, it all depends how the receiver interprets them at that precise moment. For example asking "how are you?" can get "f**k off don't waste my time" because they are not the type of person who responds to that (apparently German people hate that question as do many Northeners). Another "I'd like to talk with you regarding the band" can produce "why just not say it then!" or "you're not the BL so fo" and so on. It all depends how the person feels at that specific moment. I think my on-the-spot message was "I'd like to talk to you about recent events in the band.." As an aside I have used the "it's not you it's me" tactic and found some people REALLY hate that. My Hugarian friend (really nice young man) we were discussing this phrase and he got really animated! 🤣 He said "we eastern Europeans say exactly as we see it, if you smell we will say "YOU STINK! non of this nonsense you Brits comeout with." 🤣 I did laugh. Shoot me 😆
  12. Why is it always us who have to do the damn PA, lights, bookings and promo? Thats what I want to know!
  13. Hello. Bought this recently to add some valvey SVT type warmth to my Markbass combo and it certainly does that and so much more. This is the deluxe which means it’s programmable and you can store 3 different footswitchable tones for each of the two inputs. Also has switchable effects loop, XLR DI out which can take phantom power if needed and a separate parallel output. Unfortunately it’s overkill for me in both features and size, so I’m looking to just get back what it cost me and hopefully pass it on to someone who’ll utilise its many features more than I. No original box, manual (available on the Tech 21 website) or PSU, but price includes UK postage.
  14. You might well think that he talks bollocks, but he certainly is not a 'shite player'!
  15. Shite player that talks bollocks because he has nothing else to offer. But he understands YT, is accessible to many and has built a following to become flavour of the month. There’s far better content to spend your time watching.
  16. Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses? - U2
  17. Bumperoony for this. Just had a look, and these are £3700 new now, and this is immaculate, so save a wadge on a new one. Hit me up with any trades also if you're interested. Thanks
  18. Ride Your Pony — Lee Dorsey
  19. Thanks guys, I may give it a go to open it to a wider audience. 😏
  20. I wonder if, when leaving your message, you could have said something along the lines of 'how are you doing?' rather than leave a message that might have come across as a bit 'it's not you, it's me'. Just the interpretation I get from your reported message.

  22. I can’t believe nobody hasn’t snapped this up at this price! It’s absurd. I’ve got one for sale myself and I’d never let it go at this price. If I had the spare cash I’d buy this! Either, folk haven’t used one of these or, everyone is being more than coy with their money. You will never really need another amp or effects, this covers it all. Absolutely baffling.
  23. Thanks for all the positive feedback and huge amount of interest. Just to confirm I have my P bass sorted so not looking for any trades. i also have robust box and packing materials ready for shipping and should be able to ship within 1-2 days max. Thanks again Basschatters!
  24. As others have said a basic DI into the PA is fine (and a sound hole cover isn't a bad idea to control feedback). Most guitars have a bit of onboard EQ that does the rest of the job, otherwise the desk can EQ it fine. As acoustic guitar amplification is more about amplifying the instrument itself (in comparison to say an electric guitar) I don't think a separate amp is needed if you have foldback. I've used this setup hundreds of times without any problems. Of course if you want to start playing with toys adding a Fishman Platinum Pro and then a Strymon Cloudburst to make things more fun (as one of the other guitarists I play with has), although I would go for pedals before getting an amp every time if expanding.
