  2. Colour me interested. I always wanted a graphic neck for my various Stingrays, but then I found one with the most amazing neck ever and sort of got over it. I'd either try and get this one recreated for the Ray or I'd buy a standard sized one and build a bitsa around it. Good work though!
  3. Bass amps and "sexy" do not inhabit the same universe...
  4. Why isn't there a "None" option in the questions?
  5. Thanks for the replies. I had considered orange but thought it would be too…. Orange. That purple one is definitely sexy though. I love Aguilar’s gear but it is overkill for my apartment. The Laney is a nice looker. My first bass amp when I was a teen was a Laney and it was weak as hell so I’ve always been a bit of a snob towards the brand but should see if I can try one of those. An original Ampeg B15 would be the dream! I’ve been looking at the micro ampeg VR stack as I think they’re pretty and power doesn’t really matter for at home. Ashdown, similar to the above have a nice looking micro stack. Tone is probably a bit warm for my tastes though. I used to have an ABM combo and traded it for Hartke gear that eventually got traded for Mark bass. Not heard of Hevos and can’t find anything online after a quick search? PJB is definitely a contender. Did not know Barefaced did requests. There’s a green colour in their ad on their website that would be perfect with a silver cloth grill. Will be seriously looking at their 110 or 210. Not heard of GR Bass, but they look really nice! Will be checking those out more for sure.
  6. Is the truss rod 2-way, and what kind of a adjustment does it have? Wheel/nut?
  7. I’m in and my deposit is paid. We’ll sort out the details as the project moves forward, I reason.
  8. Appreciated. At least I can have a look and maybe I can do it..
  9. Drunk Again - Reel Big Fish
  10. had a rehearsal with the Church Band last night (we're not really a church band, it's just that the vicar lets us rehearse in our local church - who knows why as none of us are at all religious!)... Drums sound great in there though, wot with it being large and Norman! Annoyingly, singer couldn't make it as she currently has no car and being rural, public transport is non-existent (we'd go and pick her up, except she's 1/2 and hour away!). It's slightly alarming as I may have got us a charity gig (our first gig!)organised by a local Actual Rock Star next month and she's only done two rehearsals with us. However, we seem to have got over guitar-man's inability to be funky and his constant pentatonic noodling - now there's far more rhythm and solos actual stand out. I've also settled on a slightly overdriven envelope follower sound on the Helix which makes things even funkier. Not only that, but we've done a blues GoGo song in the style of Trouble Funk, and a Sly Stone style blues.
  11. That's quite a story, and a great song. U2 seem to get a lot of stick these days, but in the 80s they were really revered by young people, at least in my experience.
  12. According to members of a couple of bands I know who've auditioned bassists, not as far from the truth as it should be .....
  13. No. Edit not with the pups at or near max volume.
  14. I'm not convinced those differences would be very obvious in the context of a live performance.
  15. I Can't Stand Up For Falling Down - Elvis Costello
  16. Dizzy - The Wonderstuff with Vic Reeves
  17. These are excellent instruments - great tonal variation & just sooooooo easy to play. Good price too - GLWTS 👍👍
  18. Great for home recording or podcast. Fostex PMO.3 powered monitors. With separate Fostex PC1 volume control. Great little monitors. The power unit has recently been repaired, and they’re good to go. £50 T.Bone SC400 condenser mic, boxed and unused with cradle. £30 Studiospares mic isolator cube. Clever little thing. Never used. £20 Focusrite itrack dock Lightning connection but adapters available for usb-c, etc £40 iPad not included. £100 for the lot. I'll throw in a mic stand too if you want it. All packed in a neat wheeled suitcase with extending handle. £100 collected, or delivered/meet up round Bath/Bristol area.

  19. My bad, i meant the 50's gold/burst/maple one, one of my favourtite P bass colour combos. Assume it was called a 57?
  20. I’ve been looking on Keisel’s website. Some VERY tasty options on their bass builder page… 😎
  21. The downside is that it adds another potential point of failure where the two cables join.
  22. Fantastic clean sounding active DI box. £45 including UK postage.
  23. Price dropped to £25 including UK postage for a fantastic high quality Di box that is only 3 months old with very light use.
  24. Willing to hear offers on price, please reach out if you're in the UK and interested, perhaps we can work something out. Still sale only though, no trades
  25. My MB58R 102 Energy arrived and my first reaction was wow how light it is one hand lift of a 2x10 cabinet is possible ! Its nicely built and more robust than I thought ( some reviews say it’s not tough enough but I disagree it’s robust if you take care of your gear ) Looks very smart too and I like the size of it, narrow, very deep and tall enough. 400w RMS rated which is good for a single cab Patiently waiting for my amp to arrive before I can try it out
