I have a set of SE425s and they do give a lot of attenuation, more than my ACS earplugs which are 'up to' 26dB. They also come with a range of tips in different types and sizes - bear in mind you may need a different size in each ear.

Roland Cube 30 Bass Amplifier (Combo):....... represents an incredible value / features in compact bass amps.10-inch speaker with 30 watts of punch with 3-band EQ, COSM Guitar Amp Modeling and built-in DSP effects. The COSM modeling gives you 8 distinct guitar amp sounds, while the EFX section offers chorus, flanger, phaser and tremolo. There’s even independent Delay/Reverb processing—and the EFX section is controllable via optional footswitch (NOT incuded, of course). The Roland Cube series offers quality entry point into the world of amps, with built-in effects and amp modeling. In excellent condition (see photos) with all aspects / features working fine. The only issue I've had is that there appears to be a faint crossover when engaging the 'Octave' effect, so that when switched off there remains some faint(er) 'echo' of -8ve. The other 'amp' options work fine (as do all oter FX / features etc.). Unit is c. 13kg and c. 40 x 40 x 30 cm (so not actually a 'cube').

First off, well done getting the job with the new band. Nice to hear that and all the very best with it. That's a nice neat little bass rig. Would love to hear it. I'm a recent convert to Barefaced altho its pretty close to my Mesa cabs but a one cab fit with the BF 212 cab. Dave

It's only really 12 bars long repeating with a few fills. You'll get it in no time.

And I know it's way too soon to be thinking about Xmas! But if you want a change from the usual fare, the bass line on this one is arguably the best of any Xmas song? -
Nice to see a Dingwall. Wish i had kept my NG2 5er. Would quite like a 4 string one tho. Curious what bass rig you were using there. ? Yes i'm a geek. 😂 Dave

Full disclosure:I make some of my living from teaching people how to play the ukulele. Not kids as a rule, and not generally beginners. It depends on the kid, of course, but I think there are various types of ukulele depending on what she likes, and how much time you are willing to spend with her. She can start off with any of the cheapo wooden ones and these are fine if you pick a good one but about 10% of them are completely unplayable. As a guitarist, you will be able to spot an unplayable one as it will be like an unplayable guitar. If you can't find one secondhand, I like these Junior Rockstar ones at Smyths Toys: https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/toys/arts-crafts-and-music/musical-instruments-and-karaoke/musical-instruments/rockstar-ukulele-junior-pink-50cm/p/168154 Because they're moulded plastic they're totally reliable and all have perfect intonation and action, as well as being very tough. They need a lot of tuning (the tuners are awful but they do work) and if you ever leave them in a car on a hot day you'll find they melt - when you take them out of the car the action will most likely be about an inch at the 12th fret! If you are near Derby I have a nice purple one that you can have for the £2.50 I paid for it in a charity shop.

Cheers Rob that's a nice tricky wee bass line going on there. I'll need to have a better listen with decent headphones to get this one. Dave

Gotta be one of the more iconic bass lines! (Apologies to @itu who I've just seen already gave this a mention!) But definitely a fun one to play and these guys do a decent cover. -

There are some really nice basses out there that I'd take off the owners hands in a heartbeat (one in particular that's graced these pages and Facebook Marketplace), but loads of people have been taking hallucinogenics when it comes to pricing these days. It seems to have really accelerated since COVID, but not come back down to earth. The basses remain unsold for months, if not years, on end.

I'm looking at iems at the moment and is a bit overwhelming especially being a bit neurospicy, can you really get decent sound attenuation from a set of in ears? I was looking at a set of Shure SE215 and it says up to 37db of attenuation, I am sceptical but hoping I am wrong Also do you normally get a selection of different size tips? I am a little reluctant to fork out for iems only to find that they don't fit and are letting in a load of outside noise Thanks
