    Weird as it seems, the Hidersine gigbag was the best one I found to use with the aluminium bass.

    There was a plectrum thread on here a while ago and I bought a whole different bunch, just to end up right where I started. At least it wasn't a big outlay!

    I bought mine from Bass Direct several years ago. They might be able to order one in. I customised mine beyond recognition with a Mike Pope preamp, upgraded Bartolini pickups and Hipshot hardware. I also took a router to it and changed the pickup positions and installed Luminlay dot markers on the fingerboard and side of the neck. You wouldn't recognise it as the same bass.

    It also doesn't look wide enough to cover the two existing outer holes so they may be visible if you fit it. Guyker hardware usually has proper diagram showing the dimensions and screw pitch etc, check other listings to see if they include it or message Guyker themselves. Looks like a nice bridge though.     Very nice. I tried to learn lute but without a teacher I didn't make much progress and ended up playing mandolin instead. One day I will build a lute though, and learn to play it!

    The problem - well, it's morally bankrupt. I always smirk when I see "that pdf" which shows all this top end equipment listed. There's always the narrative "top end system", "sounds amazing", "no complaints ever"... lies lies lies. Anyway, these "great" setups dont mean anything... pricey setups don't defy physics. I think the golden era of making a living via being in a function band is well and truly over. Or maybe it's just cos I got sick of it all... Dunno. But it was definitely getting less enjoyable every gig I did.

    Three spare basses. I tried to go for an obscure make and model, to make it difficult to find spares and duplicates, but I still have 4 Washburn Bantam basses. Dual humbuckers, Dual single coils, dual Bartolinis. Fretless Dual bartolinis. Green. Natural. Zebra. Wacky blue-turquoise burst. Actually, they are a good thing to have - fun to play, easy to use. But I should have got rid of some of them earlier. A chorus pedal. I wonder what it sounds like - I must try it one day. A thick plectrum. I wonder what it sounds like - I must try it one day etc etc

    In reality, most punters wouldn't know what a good or bad sounding band at a wedding sounds like. And if it sounds rubbish and the punters notice, they won't say anything - they are guests at a wedding and unlikely to have picked up the bill. Nobody will tell the bride or groom, cos nobody is going to be that person that potentially ruins their day... hence the problem goes unchallenged, the venue is paid, the band gets paid... and everybody is happy... kinda. Lets face it, for most couples and guests, it's a one off event.

    PRICE DROP NOW £220!!! Here’s my TC Electronic RH450 in used condition. Everything works perfectly - this is a proper workhorse of an amplifier, and small/light enough to use as a backup when gigging.
