  1. Past hour
  2. The headstock will be doing a lot of heavy lifting in the distraction game. Private joke sounds good - this certainly hasn't been a "piece of cake", lol
  3. Apocalypse in 9/8 - Genesis
  4. Yes. The whole awards thing is a joke.
  5. Happy 1st of meteorological Autumn A very tight call for August , 1 vote splitting the pack, and with what looked like me giving that vote, congrats to @Chiliwailer, now on a double, seeking the elusive hat-trick I guess, Anyway, back to the business in hand , with the chosen image for your delight and delectation, he explains... "Autumn is coming in with it's stunning sunsets, so given that my photo-choosing creative mojo has dropped under the horizon here's a nice pic that even has some Northern Lights, sea, stars, rocks, and a pensive dude for your muse..." ✅ Entries must be <5 minutes and recorded between now and the deadline. ❌ No illegal samples, copyright infringements or other snide goings-on ❌ No Bagpipes, Please, I think they would suffer from the magnetic radiation and sound a bit off. ❌ No voting for your own entry. We'll know. And we'll shame you.. Deadline-wise, we will go for Midnight on the 24th September ... Which in reality, means teatime on the 25th. A line or two of blurb as usual for the vote thread will be super duper smashing lovely. Good luck, Have fun must dash , Victoria Coren Mitchell is holding a pose for me in the kitchen .
  6. Thanks for all replies, I’ve dug out a couple of local businesses that do amp repairs so a few phone calls tomorrow I think. And thanks ajkula66 I’ll take your advice and see what happens with the app and then get in touch with the music locker. Have a good evening. Ta
  7. Lol... I've seriously considered taking a battered Squire, relicing it, spraying it Sherwood Green and relicing it again! Unfortunately the bass I fancy is an Adsm Clayton signature...
  8. How about deliberately not matching the wood? Cut the piece to a triangle like a piece of cake, and paint it in the same high gloss black of the headstock. If you were to take the patch through to the front the black insert would tie in nicely, keep it invisible from the front then it's a private joke for you.
  9. I went down a “hypothetical” rabbit hole a few years back… There’s a UK Blues Federation ( link https://www.ukblues.org/ ) which seem to look after their own & I’ve noticed a huge crossover with acts on their awards & festival lineups If you do a bit of digging into this, you’ll find a few streaming/radio shows & venues If you get your faces known in a few such places, I’m sure the rest will come much easier
  10. In good used condition (with a few superficial scratches on the front). Comes in/with original box and packaging. Happy to post at buyers expense, and can even deliver locally - but collection preferred.
  11. The originals were Squiers, only the reissues are Fender Japan. My Brother had a Katana six-string.
  12. The SEO Pistols
  13. Not at the moment. Ive recently joined a alt rock band in Langport. We're writing and recording at the moment. Gigs later in the year hopefully. I was in a doom metal band in Devon before. My oldest daughter plays bass for Butane Skies, they're playing in Frome (and everywhere else) pretty regularly.
  14. Another fascintating video into the world of an in-demand show bassist at the top level. Ian King covers his gear, preamps, settings, mics for his double bass and a discussion with the show's audio designer. It's not that Overwater bass though, he's got a cool grey one, maybe with a maple neck (?), with black metalwork. The tone he has is fantastic and his playing sublime.
  15. Here's how it could've sounded... https://www.instagram.com/share/reel/BAf_Sc1ELn
  16. ….or maybe Troy (TJH3113 on YT). I think he’s a fan. I thought he was a member here, but I can’t seem to find him.
  17. Have you tried it in a different electrical socket ? Mains hum perhaps ? Presumably it makes that noise with no input ?
  18. Cover Solutions might be an option. You might have to go via the Patreon route, but could be worth it.
  19. Clip of the bizz. Will have to turn it up a little. It's more quite in the clip than live. ABM.mp3
  20. Build one or two and circulate them around a select few chosen basschatters for an honest critique. Ideally those that already play the kind of basses you're intending on building. That'd be a nearly free way to test for viability in terms of how your build stack up against those with a great deal of experience playing similar basses. It'd be important to ensure that those testing your build aren't just going to be 'yes men' and that they will give you very honest and candid feedback. Being polite to save your feelings will only do damage to any business longevity.
  21. Just bought a Yamaha Stagepas 100 for use as a monitor for small band . FOH is taken care of by Yamaha DHR10 . The Stagepas is a great and easily transportable monitor with 2 channels , one can be used as a Hi impedance for instruments and also has aux in . I just feed channel 1 from the monitor feed on the mixer . Can be stood on floor and tilted or mounted on mic stand . Also bluetooth . Worth a look and works a treat .
  22. I played this bass the day Paddy picked it up as he did a round trip to drop a bass off with me straight after getting the OW. I was super impressed with it, it's a quality bit of kit. Deal in confidence with Paddy as well, he's a top chap and seller!
  23. You mentioned holding the mic' to test it. Don't. Just touch it with one finger. There's a chance that you could freeze and not be able to let go if you get a shock. Phantom power is 48v. Too low to give the feeling of a shock. Don't use your gear until it has been properly checked over and invest in a tester, as others suggest. Faulty extension cables are an obvious suspect. Does it only happen at one venue/place? If so, their wiring may be faulty. I've found faulty wiring in several pubs over the years, thanks to my mains tester. The landlord had probably got a customer to do a bit of electrical work in exchange for a few pints. It happens.
  24. The original Fender Katana bass was pretty weird. This is a nice talking point but I don't think I will ever see one anywhere.
