  2. Oops ! You’re correct, they are 4 in line… I will amend the post ☺️
  3. A new interface pedal from EHX: https://www.ehx.com/products/effects-interface/ "Pedalboard Mode lets you run your guitar through any of your favorite plugins from your DAW and run them back into your signal chain for full hybrid rig integration. ...... The Electro-Harmonix Effects Interface Hardware Plugin knocks down the walls between physical and plugin effects, effortlessly turning your pedals into outboard gear and your plugins into pedals mounted to your pedalboard, all with a simple USB connection."
  4. I'm going to try and summarise this as a set of mathematical equations to try and work it all out. I'm not sure English is capable or sufficient. Slightly nervous I may need to either rebuild the whole of maths to incorporate this OR enter the realm of quantum mechanics to solve.
  5. Dead - Napalm Death
  6. Bought these recently here and they’re great but I decided to go with my preferred choice on a bass I’ve modded for a particular situation. In my trial with them I found them to be quiet and even with low output as described (alnico standard) but much better than stock pickups. In other words...pro improvement. My East UK active preamp has gain adjustment so that didn’t pose a problem. I thought they were vintage voiced (60’s) but even slap style sounded pleasant. I preferred the more hi-fi sound of the EMG for the stuff I’m doing (plus I have more vintage styled instruments available). I also did the series/parallel switching with them and that was great (versatile option) but you can choose either as both ways sounded great. The original post: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/518269-celinder-ss-humbucker-alnico-jazz-pickups-sold/#comment-5561431 I have epoxied the tabs so they’re much better and poses no problems to mount the pickups. I’m asking what I paid for them and this includes UK shipping.
  7. Just Like Heaven - The Cure
  8. A reasonable expectation that justice be dealt before Christmas?
  9. Ok, update on my bitsa. Fender '64 vintage pickups & Monty's J loom setup fitted. Just need to get the soldering iron fired up. A little hefty at 4.6kg but hey ho, see how it goes 😏
  10. Yeah, I think this is the one for me. Loved the QC except for the size. Honestly a Dual Cortex would’ve been perfectly sufficient for my needs at a reduced price but this looks epic. The smaller form factor combined with the v2 captures which are apparently a big improvement on the already impressive v1 is a great sell. It ain’t cheap and obviously there’s the Anagram but the ecosystem of captures out there vs NAM and ease of doing my own are the thing that’s put me off. I’ve never been a fan of the bass focused drives I’ve tried in the past, all my favourites are guitar centric so the bass-focused side of the Anagram is actually a little off putting.
  11. Drop to £2000 before withdrawing.
  12. I don't think it was this one, but still, I can hear the difference:-
  13. There's a great example video on YouTube I saw a while ago. Its very subtle but the timbre does change from one position to the other. Three of my basses are reverse P (notably the Fender Power Jazz Bass Special model) and I have reviewed a good pile Spector basses over the years with reverse P pickups in them too. Tonally I prefer the sound of my 76 precision with the standard layout but one thing that certainly does sound WAY better is a PJ set in the reverse configuration. The D&G strinsg need that distance between the coils of the P and J to sound less thin together.
  14. Seriously, so were some of the CDs, including some fairly niche compilations that were out of licence.
  15. Lovely, if I didn’t already have one I’d be checking my wallet
  16. Just released (Probably to coincide with NAMM). Looks just the ticket for us who like a few outboard pedals with a modeller!
  17. Up where we belong - Joe Cocker
  18. Today
  19. Good point, live arrangement for a studio recording to make it more dynamic, makes sense.
  20. +1 for the Gotoh. It’s now the bridge of choice for my builds. Excellent quality at a reasonable price. I have also used some of the Guyker and Wilkinson bridges if you wanted to go more budget friendly.
  21. Running Up That Hill - Kate Bush
  22. Run to the Hills - Iron Maiden
  23. Original bands often change their songstructures, why not a covers band, too. It has nothing to do with the intention to improve a "flawed" hit song. My band often moves parts, plays songs longer, give certain parts a different vibe. It simply catches the crowd´s attention, which is good.
  24. Just liberated a G&L L2000 from Jamie’s ownership. Great bass, exactly as described, and Jamie’s a pleasure to deal with - thank you 😎
  25. Love that song! Over The Hills And Far Away - LZ
