  2. There's too many w**kers running TalkBass who attack users over the dumbest things. It like a daycare center for grumpy old geezers who believe that their opinion is the most relevant. And I thought Bass Buzz was cool, until they pushed the 'we're the best bass forum' garbage down my throat. I kindly reminded them that they were not.
  3. This is one of my favourite for sale posts ever, and is leading me towards emotionally unstable decisions….
  4. I don't know who originally made it but I've had it a couple of years and added a Thunderbird neck. It's had a Rickenbacker 5 string pickup, so will need re-routing for another shape. Has a KiOgan wiring loom and the cavities have copper conductive tape. Paint job - not good - Halfords finest put on too quickly and not sanded down. Top is finished with a vinyl wrap (which doesn't hide the paint inconsistencies underneath). Great if you want that 'Rat' look.

  5. Hello! To be perfectly honest, I am not quite sure about the radius – it seems no different from other stingray 5s I had, and not as flat as my 14" or 16" Ibanez basses. I'd assume it should be 11"-12". As to why people used to stick them on Stingrays, I am not sure why they did. That said, very much as far as my experience goes, have never played a Stingray I was 100% happy with neck-wise (I am amazed they still do not have a dual action truss rod), in terms of stability, fretwork, and truss rod robustness. (I had three at different times, years ranging between 2005 and 2013.) I am sure there are lots of lovely ones out there, and maybe I could have lived with those necks. But this neck solves the issues I had and quite frankly seems to me to be in a different class.

  7. It's certainly a very straightforward option to set personalised monitor out levels on the A&H CQ desks - so I'm not quite sure about your point that most mixers don't have preamps built in or if I've misunderstood what you're saying?
  8. Thanks, Mokl. I was running two as a vertical stack – best live sound I've ever had!
  9. The DM610 is a large bookshelf/standmount speaker from renowned hi-fi brand B&W, featuring a well-braced 30-litre sealed cabinet with 8-inch mid-bass driver. The larger driver and extra cabinet space create a much better low end range than from most similar speakers. This model allows for either bi-wiring or bi-amplification. These speakers present clean tight bass response, surprisingly clear mids for such a large driver and the pleasant highs that the well-designed B&W tweeter at that time was famous for. They can be driven quite loud, enough for the physical effect of the bass to be felt without audible distortion or a sense of sound compression. Both speakers are in Very Good condition, especially for their vintage. All-original, complete with full grilles (one of which has a small hole, shown in the final photo). Only £125. Collection from Bournemouth BH6 preferred. Here comes the science bit… Type: 2-way closed, shelf speaker Colour: Ash black veneer Dimensions: 490 x 236 x 303 mm (H x W x D) Weight: 7.8 kg Recommended amplifier power: 30-150 W Frequency response: 70 - 20,000 Hz (±2 dB) Crossover: 2500 Impedance: 4 Ohm
  10. Please forgive my ignorance but I know nothing about Status necks. Do you happen to know the fretboard radius measurement on them? What's the story with sticking them on Stingrays,I've seen it before and genuinely curious 🙂
  11. I would say it's not priced too cheaply for a US model. It's in the correct ballpark based on other examples I've seen.
  12. I got a Zoom CDR 70+. Instant online Amazon purchases and next day delivery is almost too good! I have a Bass playing gig tomorrow and sold my multi-fx before Christmas so wanted something cheap and small as tuner and compressor that can also do stereo keyboard stuff. First impressions are it is pretty good. A bit annoying it doesn't have overdrive (the old ones with the hack can though - so perhaps that'll come soon). The Plethora X1 is similar size/cost and stereo, but that doesn't have a tuner and only does one effect at a time....but I do like the look of it with the colour screen and simple way of turning a knob to select the effect. I don't love the Zoom interface and fiddly small knobs though, it comes down to that thing of suddenly deciding 'I want to turn on a delay and gradually increase the rate' and needing a Delay preset somewhere quickly to access and parameters settings to access to increase rate - even if it's saved as a easily accessible preset it isn't something I want to do have to engage brain to do wiile trying to play keyboard, but if an individual Delay pedal was just sat there then obviously it is just click on and and twist the rate. The keyboard can actually do most effects itself, it is just the access to them while playing that's tricky, interface and live usability is the key thing I need. I think in the end I will end up going with a few individual pedals so I can have that 'hands-on' quick access from the keyboard without any preset scrolling or menus. There aren't a lot of stereo ones to choose from but I think: Delay/Reverb: Boss RE-2 Modulation: Source Audio Gemini Overdrive: EHX Operation Overlord (stereo overdrive is a rare thing, it isn't that I want the actual overdrive to be in Stereo - it is that it is being fed a stereo signal from the keyboard that has rotary speaker sims etc, so the stereo in/out needs to be preserved). Or there seems to be one Keyboard specific stereo overdrive Tall Fat & Wide but ideally I'd like things that have potential to work just as well on Bass and I'm not sure if that or the Overlord tick that box.
  13. I think that was the SGR800 LE. I had the SGR1000 too.
  14. No new EHBs for 2026: the ones listed in their 2026 announcement appear to be the two EHB600 series basses already announced, in the same two finishes (Walnut Flat and Purist Blue).
  15. Selling this bass for one reason only – property. The less said about that, the better. What matters is that this 2006 Ray is in excellent condition and has reached that rare stage where an instrument stops trying and simply is. No drama, no fuss – just very, very good. I don’t usually get on with Rays. This one is an exception, which is irritating. It is easily the best I’ve played and the only one I've ever seriously considered keeping. If Ernie Ball built them like this consistently, my opinion of Rays would require revision. If it doesn’t sell, I’ll keep it and pretend this listing never existed. This is a ceramic magnet Ray that behaves like it knows some vintage secrets. With sensible EQ (but even without) it does the classic Ray thing convincingly – full, authoritative, and effortlessly cool. Ideal territory if Donny Benét is anywhere in your musical orbit. Comes with the original OHSC, which is immaculate and frankly better looked after than most flats. Can be tried in North London – tea and biscuits provided, subject to the ongoing goodwill of the kettle. I work in central London, so handover there is also easy. Shipping is fine: I’ve sent instruments to Australia without incident. Pitcairn remains a hard no. Please don’t suggest trades. I have a documented history of poor decisions in that area and would like to keep this transaction emotionally tidy. Photos included, plus a video from @lowregisterhead below – shared in the optimistic hope that he won’t mind.

  18. I didn't know about the daisy chain trick either, swear when I used to run daisy chains I still had issues with ACA pedals, perhaps not though as we're going back some years!
  19. Alter Bridge, top 10, nice.
  20. Enjoy your fully-fitted Christmas! 🙂
  21. Number 8 is rather unpredicted.
  22. Could I have the dimensions please.
