  2. @warwickhunt what have you got incoming? And what's your stage rig? How are you amping it?
  3. Having a custom purple flake P being built by the, rather wonderful, Rob Flett - should be ready in the next week or so 😈
  4. Reverends are really cool. As a big Mike Watt fan, I'd love to get a Wattplower one day! Has anyone used one?
  5. That’s the one I used too. Brilliant book.
  6. It would be, and would address any minor hearing issues as he could have a personalised eq for his monitoring. John's problem is mainly that his singer will have no truck with modernity, I think having monitors at all was an innovation.

  8. I had the chance to do something quite different last night, and take part in a poetry jam/workshop. This involved writing a short poem (with guidance from an experienced writer), and then covering bass duties in a jam band while everyone took turns to deliver their poems in a spoken-word-over-music format. Great fun!

  10. Hey peeps, looking to get a looper and my analysis paralysis syndrome is kicking in. Has anyone used the ditto, ditto+, ditto x2 or boss rc5? If so how do they compare. I want the looper from creating ideas and practising. Not bought one before and I really think a looper will suit my creativity. The ditto+ seems cool as you can loads drums on the device and also save them. I like the idea of the ditto x2 with the two button for stop and start. Never used one so would love some input. cheers
  11. I now have a 12 string in-coming so this is now £425

  13. Reviving this topic to ask if anybody has any tips to get rid of fretting arm elbow bursitis? The scenario: yesterday I played for about 5 hours guitar and bass at a jam session the Norfolk Blue Society put on at a local fete. Not a huge number of folks turned up, so I played pretty well non-stop for 5 hours out of the 6 we were there. To show how desperate we were, I actually sang for 30 minutes of the time I wasn’t playing 😱. Anyway, back to the topic: within a couple of hours of finishing, I noticed that my left elbow (I’m right handed) was sensitive to the touch. After another hour or so, a distinct bump had developed just below my elbow and the whole area around my elbow was hot to the touch: classic bursitis symptoms. I didn’t bash it, so I can only assume that the bursitis had been caused by playing for so long. I played guitar for about half of the session, the rest of the time was spent on my very light Greco medium scale bass (ideal for long gigs). I don’t play guitar very much these days and arthritis in the base of my left thumb means that my technique is probably not ideal. Anybody had this; any tips for recovery and is it OK to go on playing in the meantime? I have a gig coming up in 5 days.
  14. That’s super useful.
  15. Yes. Good luck. I've tried all the usual electronics sites. RV16AF-41 25R 3 B150K is as much of the Alpha Tiwan part number as I can work out. The minimum order is 2000. Finding one will be like finding hens teeth. Ibanez would have ordered them in bulk and don't stock them as spares now.
  16. I'll have a look later, those ones with a long thread are specialist but I think I can find one. The end diameter matters most because it has to fit the knob snugly.
  17. You only need half of those If you got rid of everything fret wise above the octave and every part of a fret on the two treble strings, you could make it a hybrid fretted/fretless and do all the pointless noodling on the bits real bass players don’t use 👍 #joking

  20. Reposted - Thought it may have regained a use, but the slot has been taken by another! Second chance!
  21. Honestly his playing is terrifying, in the best way possible. I’m always in awe of musicians that sound totally unfettered by their instrument whilst simultaneously managing to stay incredibly musical, all with immaculate feel and time. I can probably count the number of bass players who I’ve heard who can do all this on one hand, Rob Mullarkey is definitely one of those.
  22. Thanks for that I'll have to work out my finances but I am still interested.
  23. Should try a different set if strings to rule out its not a dodgy string. Most dimarzio pups have adjustable poles, and sound great.
  24. Am getting envious chaps!
