  2. Dingwall have been stocked there for about 4 years, just not very reliably - and more expensive than anywhere else.
  3. Just helping out my friend Mark of Classic & Cool Guitars/Limelight basses. Hope this is the best place for it but feel free to move it! It was last seen in a tweed traditional-style case. I don't know if the new owner is a member here! Hoping to make it too hot to handle... Here's what Mark has to say: On the 29th/30th December this bass was stolen on route to its new owner in Nuneaton. It was collected by Parcelforce, arranged via Interparcel. The bass is a one off completely unique instrument and won’t be easy to off load for cash. It is a custom made Limelight bass in Ice Blue Metallic, made to look like a bass used by Coldplay. An investigation into its disappearance was made, but it was declared “as lost”, and couldn’t be found. I’m not happy with this as ParcelForce know which driver was collecting that day, and the depot it should have been delivered to next. This has cost me over £1000 personally. The Police will be informed. If you see this bass offered for sale, do not buy it as its stolen goods and will be confiscated.

  4. Steel the one - Shania Twain
  5. Look at Hot Rod pickups...Dave Walsh of Eternal Guitars owns & makes them at his workshop on the edge of Chichester. He has the old Wizard pick up machines.
  6. Here I go again... Got rid of my Headrush MX5 and Boss ME-90B. Wanted to go compact and the MX5 got me really keen on touch screen effects. So it's a Boss GX10 with an EHX Bass Mono Synth and a wireless. Just want to add a page turner pedal and then that should be my gig setup.
  7. I'm winding everything back now and having a clearcut of all the stuff I'm unlikely to ever use again. I'm open to sensible offers for any of these - the £900 shown in the listing is for the whole lot, collected. Prices include postage to UK addresses apart from the Take 5 - please PM to discuss collection or delivery options for that. Given that this is a clearout, I'm not really looking for swaps but feel free to let me know if you have anything - to be honest, it's unlikely but you never know! Sequential Take 5 analogue synth - immaculate condition, boxed, upgraded to the latest firmware and patches £750 Zoom R12 portable multitrack recorder - bought to record the band at rehearsal and only used once before the band imploded. Boxed, immaculate £150 Roland VT4 voice transformer - bought when I entertained fantasies of singing backing vox. Again, used just the once and then retired along with the rest of my dreams. £125 UNO drum machine - a great little drum machine, fantastic for giving us a basic beat whenever the drummer failed to make rehearsals. Light usage, boxed and immaculate condition £100 Waldorf Streichfett string synth - surprisingly versatile little synth that does a great job of recreating the sound of 70s string synths. Immaculate, boxed £150 Thanks for looking - if you have any questions or would like photographs, please PM

  8. Oooh are they available at GuitarGuitar now? Good for them.
  9. I'm on the lookout for a nice standard, passive, Precision - Fender US or Japan ideally but also happy to consider other good quality Precision style basses. Bonus points for natural finish / maple neck! Something of similar value would be great but, a bit of cash either way is fine too 💸

  11. Rex Browns grinding, growling tone with Pantera. The most perfect metal bass tone. No effects pedals, just a Spector NS2 in to his GK amp
  12. Well i couldn't find a 32" SC headless...So i decided to design and build my own. Had a pair of Peavy VFL's 5;s lying around so one's gone in the bridge (im still looking for it's preamp..it's about here somwhere!) and id thinking of dropping an S in the middle position (maybe mod one in after it's finished) My 2.9mm stainless wire just arrived after being lost/delayed last month, not sure if i'll be going high gloss or hard wax/poly wipe on yet...i should start a build log here for this i guess.
  13. I think those Lakland/Hanson LH3 pickups are better than the Bartolini set they replaced. They're a bit more aggressive with more bite and attack. Bass Player Magazine liked them, too: I've got a 44-02 Deluxe fretless with them on and it's a fabulous bass. So many classic fretless tones available with that pickup system. If you're only going to have one fretless bass it a very versatile choice.
  14. Fe-where - Fleetwood Mac
  15. I could not turn up to a rehearsal with that. Add the fact that I don't like the TH sound and......NAH!
  16. The Ferrous wheel. Everly bros
  17. I remember reading that review when it came out! I bought my first four string Stingray a few months later.

  20. I do but your profile says you’re in California and I’m not willing to ship internationally sorry. Unless it’s California, Falkirk 🙂
  21. Absolutely bert, thank you, they really were special and such an inspiration
  22. JJ Burnel, Lemmy, Geddy Lee - in that order. It worries me that I may not have progressed particularly far in the subsequent 45+ years.
