Might be worth noting that "standard" IEM systems are designed to plug into aux outs from desks in the same way as you would a powered wedge, hence having a xlr input, but I've noticed some of the cheaper IEMS are essentially just wireless headphones, given away by having a stereo jack input. I suspect these latter units might need a headphone amp to work.

It's a Zilla 212. Lovely sounding thing. They'll make just about anything on request, but they've got a fun configurator on their website for tolex, piping and grill cloth options. The cabs are all made down in Cornwall these days. https://www.zillacabs.com/

I’ve gone back to using a head and cab, so my Markbass combo is up for grabs. It’s a great amp, deceptively loud for its size and in good condition (although the handle is looking a bit worse for wear). Looking for £425 collected from Haywards Heath, or I’d be happy to meet halfway within a reasonable distance. Better photos, proof of ownership etc to come but here are some for starters.

Relisting this as, try as I might, I am not A Jazz Bass Guy. Original thread below, the only thing that’s changed since May is the bass is now wearing a nicely worn in set of La Bella IMA Super Polished strings. I’m in the market for a JMJ Mustang so would be interested in a trade involving one of those (plus cash adjustment on my end). Collection from Haywards Heath preferred, or I’d be happy to meet within 30 miles or so.

I had a Session 4x10 combo which I put on top of a 15" JBL scoop bin. I ruled. -

Wish they would do a maple version on the 6.. I am totally sold by the white 6 jazz spec

I think these vintage reissues are better than genuine vintage ones as playing instruments for gigging musicians. I spent 20 years playing my 66 jazz bass, but for the last 5 years have been playing one of the FSR USA models. Just beautifully made instruments.

I purchased one of these too, for a first try at double bass. (No shipping hassle as I'm in the Netherlands like Bax shop, so the huge f*cker arrived the next day already.). As already had been mentioned in reviews, the action from the factory is very high and needs to be worked on. I took about a cm of the top of the bridge piece and reconstructed the curving and slots. I also lowered the nut slots a good bit. It plays a lot easier now, though I might lower the nut slots another bit in the future. The stock strings are high tension steel strings, of which the G broke when tuning. Bummer. But Bax is sending me (backorder) a complete new set to replace that string. I'll keep the set as a backup though, as I invested in some Presto nylon strings with a looser feel. They're easier on the fingers too. Once set up with the light gauge Nylon strings and playable low action, I really enjoy fiddling around with it. I can't compare the sound to other double basses as I have no reference or anything, but it sounds decent to my ears. I'm still finding my way on the fingerboard, but it's fun to find out positionings by ear. Once I have more spare time I'll search for some YouTube lessons to get the basics right. Funny thing, how an electric bass neck feels in you hand after playing a db for a good hour. It's a full blown tooth pick experience. Fat baseball bat profile precision bass necks don't exist anymore to me.

Picked up this 2025 NG-3 5 string in Ferrari Green. Bit of overlap with my John Taylor 5 but the different characters come through when you start turning the controls. A nice touch is the neck binding 🙂

@rwillett - Don't want to mess with your numbers, but I just noticed #97 Paint It Black is shown as being released in 1996 😬 -

Having spent a week with this, the retriggering with hammer-ons in certain settings is just about the only negative I have. It sounds brilliant, and now I'm learning how it wants to be played, it's tracking very, very well. Having everything adjustable by twisting knobs is just wonderful, can't be a coincidence that the only two synth pedals I've ever got on with have not involved PCs or apps. Fat fingers will struggle a tad though, i can see some finding it hard to adjust knobs without knocking others, which would be especially frustrating when adjusting saved presets. Did I read somewhere that there is a way of setting the pedal to work as a filter without any of the synth voices in the mix IE a filter affecting Dry signal only? It's not something I've spent long looking for but it isn't immediately obvious to me how.
