  1. Past hour
  2. That would involve me being competent 😄 Ill see if I can make a short video later this week 🤘🏻
  3. Nice one thanks, will have a look at that. My gigging basses are all active 5 strings. I did try the Aklot one with my only passive bass and it did the same thing but to a lesser extent (the odd crackle and dips in signal level), that has a DImarzio Model P in it so maybe that's still too much. May try and borrow a guitar off a mate to check it's not a faulty unit.
  4. In decent condition, just a few marks and light scratches around the body and the ding on the lower body rear edge as per pictures. All works as it should with slightly crackly pot. Nice bass. Shipping £12 UK.
  5. Sounds and looks great & I want one of those leopard skin jackets that the sax player has on!
  6. We recommend having a battery installed when running the unit on phantom power. This way if the phantom power is lost there will be no signal interruption. In general, you should not leave batteries in any effects unit for extended periods. They tend to corrode and leak over time.
  7. As some of the above really, not so much band break up .. more of the "your joking right"?. Decades ago was in a very good prog rock outfit.....Melotrone, rotos, two guitards..long hair all over the place...gnarly old school JBL, Altec, EV PA, desk etc ... tour bus and then one night after a gig I get the message that those running the show wanted 85 quid from each band member for more PA. This was 1980 and that was a lot of dosh. We'd done some demos but they werent good enough so I said, surely better to pay for more demos..."Nope, more PA is gonna make us". From then on it was never gonna work and I left....I was pretty sad cause live we were very good...just needed more time in the studio. We were Marillion before they were even a band and our tunes were more melodic and more interesting in my opinion... but hey there you go, and without sounding to smug, six months later they broke up.
  8. It appears to be a replacement because it's not neo, and the cone is polypropylene, which is typical of auto sound drivers. For that matter so is the 3 ohm impedance, and the thin metal frame. Of course it wouldn't be the first time that the advertising didn't match up with reality.
  9. Paging @Andyjr1515 Andy built me an uber-lightweight 5-string active bass using Paulownia wood - essentially it's fancy balsa wood. 🤣 His craftsmanship is very well-established here on Basschat.
  10. The City awakes from its torpor, seemingly unaware or the approaching menace. Just across the horizon, gathering pace, intent on who knows what unspeakable havoc and destruction. Where is It from..? Why now..? What to do to ward off the inevitable..? Once Seen, It can never be Unseen. The City awakes... A too vivid dream last night provoked playing around with a few scraps from my cutting room floor, snippets for which I can no longer find the original (Reaper...) source files. Messy, untidy, rather like the soon-to-be razed residences in its path, to be watched rather than listened to. Once Seen It can never be Unseen.
  11. A pair of LED - RGB Stage blinders for sale. Several options to control these, either dmx, sound activated or pre-programmed sequence. Can be hung with the pipe clamp or floor mounted so quite versatile for smaller pub gigs. I've not been able to find any spec on these on the internet so unable to provide any wattage etc. Would prefer pick-up from south Warwickshire as they the pair are quite heavy and I don't have sufficient packing materials to protect them in carriage. Any questions please ask.

I use mine routinely at jam sessions (active 4-string bass) and I used this also at a small-pub gig on Saturday (active 5-string bass). No problems at all.
  13. ................ bit beyond the budget, unfortunately
  14. Looking for a dongle style wireless to use at rehearsals, won't be for gigging as I only need it so I can move away from the provided amp and our drummer at the rehearsal spaces we use, basically to make best use of space without trailing cables everywhere. Bought a cheap Aklot 2.4g unit as our guitarist uses one for the same purpose but it doesn't play particularly nicely with my gigging basses which are all active. Seen the WP-5G models which use 5.8g and are supposed to be ok from posts on TB but wondering if anybody here has experience. Is there anything out there or are the only usable options more expensive? I always gig with a cable and wired IEMs so will just be used at practice really.
  15. Got my paws on a Status Eclipse 6 string last week, from 1994 I believe, one of the wooden neck varieties. Needed new strings as it came with flats which didn't really suit it, and a fairly robust set up, don't think the truss rod had been adjusted for some years. Everything all settled down now and it is quite an amazing instrument, really good solid fundamental bass tone, fits in a variety of styles and situations, great B, and the option of going high if one feels the need. Heavy thing though, thank goodness for comfort straps!
  16. very nice - always on the lookout for a fretless version of the four string but fairly infrequent sale items this side of the pond fretless
  17. Consider scaling the body to 95 % or so a bit like Rhonda Smith. You can't see it, but it's there. If there are any ergonomic issues, this is the place to act.
