Seriously, just buy a neck from a Chinese seller on eBay. I've recently picked up Jazz/slim profile and Precision/chunky necks. Both around £80.00. Both great.

It may be a bit of a 'Dahu hunt', looking for the cause. I have noticed many times a 'slipping' of synchro, on my own and many other more professional videos, which I attribute to You-Tube itself, and for which there is no cure that I know of. It's not much of an issue in your video; it's more troublesome when trying to match what a drummer is doing, especially after twenty minutes of drift..! As for the video itself, I'll admit to not being an uber-fan of whatever brand of metal this is, but it certainly respects its genre. I have several audio systems here, and even through the 'big speakers', it's very difficult to distinguish the bass notes, as you're tuned down so low. This is not criticism; it's part of the genre. I expect, 'live' through a decent sub-equipped FOH system, the walls would tremble adequately. I'll admit, too, that I could distinguish little of the lyrics, but, that, too, is part and parcel, and anyway, I'm old, so... A Good Video, then, all the better for being your first (of many..?). Good Stuff, well done. Douglas

With a screen name like that, I think the DoI needs to beware of him. -

THE SONS OF ILLINOIS operate out of Chelmsford, Essex. We play exciting, crowd-pleasing Chicago Blues and we very urgently need a bassist who plays both upright bass and bass guitar. We have a good book of really decent gigs for 2026. We have a strong social media presence, with more than 2,000 followers on Facebook and a YouTube channel too. Band line-up is: Vocals/Harmonica Lead/Slide Guitar Lead/Rhythm Guitar Upright/Bass Guitar - the vacant position Drums/Percussion Please call Mark on 07885 858158 immediately if you're up for this!

Phew... I had a sudden worry having said 21 when what I have is 20, so it'll fit a 20 pocket with an overhang -

Honestly, you'll let anyone in. I've been playing bass on and off for about 15 years in various genres and have fallen into a rock covers band over the last couple of years. I'm looking to get more into modding, and broaden my horizons in instruments and playing techniques. I've owned and played a fair amount of tat over the years, this is what I currently own Basses 2024 Gretsch Streamliner Jet Club Bass (this I plan to bling) 2023 Music Man Sterling Stingray Short Scale 1979 Peavey T-40 2004 Fender Aerodyne II Jazz Bass El Cheapo Squier Tele (guitar) Amp 2010 500w Markbass CMD 102 Pedals Laney Black Country Customs The Custard Factory compressor Laney Black Country Customs Blackheath Distortion Tech21 SansAmp Bass Driver DI V2 Preamp Pedal Electro-Harmonix Nano Big Muff Pi Electro-Harmonix Bass Clone chorus Boss TU-3 tuner Boss ME-80b multi effects

@PaulThePlug, the original Steinberger tuners are really smooth, not like the licensed ones. It's not an L2, but an XL2 made when the factory was moved to Newburgh, so after 1984, but remember that the company was sold to Gibson in 1987. You have to search for the serial number under the tuners on the side to date it, or if it's a transitional model (1984~1985), in the battery compartment. Check this to have all the data needed: http://www.steinbergerworld.com/L-series.htm And the intonation on this one is totally wrong...

Some new colours & styles announced today...rainbow sparkle DP and Merc 4 and 5 string in blackout.

The Real Deal Composite / Carbon go for £€$STUPID... It's an Icon. For use and smoother tuning I recommend fitting F4-10M thrust washers to the tuning screws (as a replacement for the 3 nylon washers on each, but keep em as original bits) like on my Hohner B2 - 4 for about a tenner.

Always been a fan of Moo. They do some interesting ones that the likes of Vistaprint, etc don't do.

It's Bandcamp Friday again. ☺️ Just these two for me today. Mark

Help with buzz from Tonerider pickup on Ibanez SRMD200 bass
shoulderpet replied to Brim Taika's topic in Bass Guitars
It can't hurt to try, if that doesn't imply things it is also worth checking that the ground wire is making contact (I had mine years ago so can't remember what the wiring was like but I would assume that like most basses there is a ground wire under the bridge) single coils are noisy but they shouldn't be unusably so. -
It's fair to say it's an absolute plodder of a song. Even if the bass tone were fantastic I doubt I'd listen to it twice.
