  2. Here’s a set of original boxed wizard pj pickups that are surplus to requirements from a project bass that didn’t happen. These are from the Andy Blake Wizard days I’m looking to recover the £150 I paid for the set last year. UK postage included

  3. We aren’t local … see league of gentlemen “Edward and tubs’ local shop”
  4. Old thread from 2014. Time we updated it. What's on your 2025 Setlist? Make it an easy cut and paste format so I can drop it into excel and sort. ==========2025=========
  5. Fender American Professional Classic Jazz Bass (or in other words, "We redid the American Professional II in satin faded poly finishes, omitted the High Mass Bridge & through body stringing, and added '62 'Coastline' Pickups, a Grease Bucket tone circuit & '66 Lollipop Tuners.") Nothing to see here, then! Those new pickups based on the Pure Vintage series do sound good, though...
  6. Its black, the pics aren't great ill get some more up! Its bolt on neck!
  7. Astonishing that Barry Gibb, Barry Manilow and Barry White are all from your home town... Three legends all from Barry. You must be very proud.
  8. *thinks* I don't know how much longer I can keep this in... wish I hadn't gone overboard with the hard boiled eggs at lunch...
  9. Is this black or trans-purple? Also, what's the neck construction? Set, bolt on, through? Any photos of the rear would be great! 🙂
  10. Used but 9/10 condition Allparts Jazz neck that came attached to a bass that's since had a different neck installed, Jazz necks not really being my thing despite the fact that this one is VERY pretty! Previous owner applied a Fender logo. Couple of small dinks in the headstock, a slight but not functionally significant chip in the nut, and a slightly messy screw hole at the heel (all photo'd), but nothing to write home about and otherwise a rather nice neck that retails around £450 without nut or tuners. I rate Allparts necks as the same league in quality and playability as good US Fenders - not quite as good as the FCS standard of Warmoth, but significantly better than for example MIM and Mighty Mite. No idea re the tuners BTW, they do the job but I doubt they're Gotoh/Hipshot/Schaller level. Price includes insured UK courier

  11. Sold a pedal to Shep. Super smooth transaction. Great stuff 👍
  12. The biggest obstacle is the PubCos makong unrealistic demands on the publicans to make larger and larger profits - and then having a high turnover of publicans. It takes time to build a reputation for a pub be that good food, real ales, welcoming atmosphere, good entertainment. Mostly it's word of mouth rather than any social media promotion. My friends are just not interested in going out of their way to watch a pub band. Unfortunately too many bands are just playing pretty much the same setlists of songs chosen from about 200 standards. Somewhere there is a thread with the top 40 songs played by basschatters. Probably worth a dig out to see if its changed much.
  13. Purchased another pedal off my favourite pedal dealer. Addictive stuff this man is selling Flawless transaction as always! Thanks!
  14. Purchased one of Luke’s Intermodulator pedals. Great comms, well packaged, arrived super fast. Very happy.
  15. Purchased a Darkglass Pedal, arrived quickly, well packaged, and exactly as described! Many thanks!
  16. Thanks! I wasn't too happy with the single coil pickup sound so had a new pickguard made to house a warman dual rail which has a much fatter sound, a reversible mod as I could return it to stock easily.
  17. There was someone on the Rickenfakers FB group a while back who got a Chinese builder to make them a one-off Kip Winger Spectorbacker copy. I think they mentioned that it was subsequently available as a 'standard' model! I'm strangely OK with the gold bling!
  18. IMO anyone who hasn't yet seen/played that glorious black Epiphone LP of yours really needs to. One of my favourite basses at the SWBB.
  19. Excellent 👌 I love a matching headstock. What's the story with that pickup?
  20. It's in the diary!
  21. Brilliant and very underrated basses if you like old school............ GLWTS Paul.
