  2. The '96 being used to run a little rehearsal for friends, SOD a few months back.. 👍 The 'classic' being used here for a few test mixes of the Barflys from a live recording at the Eleven Club. It's funny, I also did a few ITB test mixes which sounded pretty good but out of all of them, I still preferred the ones done on the 02R. Maybe it's evidence of me over thinking and complicating things within the software or simply the tactile, physicality of a real console causing me to make different choices - who knows.. 🥰
  3. I saw this just after you listed it - oddly the other night I had a dream about it. I can't remember much of the dream, and I don't have space on my board for it... but have a super random bump!

  5. Thanks I don’t think Viv made many long scale basses.
  6. Acoustic Lounge 6 Feb Promo (1).mp4
  7. Selling this nice octaver from Sonicake. Sounds well into the Boss OC2 territory for cheap. £20 posted mainland UK, can be collected from Aylesbury.

    I love this thing..
  10. I'm watching an old episode of Jonathan Creek and it made me think of this thread. Maddie walks into a studio where a band are rehearsing and a minute or so later three guys walk in with four pizzas. They were the drummer, bassist and guitarist and the singer had replaced them in the 20 minutes it took for them to go out and get the pizza. 😄
  11. Ohhh, I’m down in a few weeks for a family dinner, if it’s still there…

I know we’re here for the Jazzes but that P looks very nice 👀
  13. M-Wave AnnBlackBox is an update on the BlackBox. Key Differences and Shared Features: Version & Evolution: The Annblack Box is considered an evolution of earlier M-VAVE models (like the Cube Baby or original Blackbox), offering a more complete feature set and improved sound. Renaming/Branding: Some discussions indicate that "Annblackbox" may just be a name variation to avoid legal issues, although it generally refers to the newer, updated unit. Features: Both devices offer 80 editable presets, Bluetooth connectivity, USB audio interface functionality, and a built-in battery. Sounds: The Annblack Box is noted for having improved, more "natural" sounds and better-modeled amps and cabinets compared to earlier, more basic iterations. App Connectivity: The Annblack Box features, or is used with, updated app software for managing presets. In summary, the "Annblack Box" is effectively the newer, slightly refined version of the "M-Vave Black Box" product line. I have the M-Wave Cube baby for bass which is cheaper still and its a great little unit for the price of a Donner/Rowin single micro pedal

  15. I saw the Scorpions at the NEC with Winger opening for them back in, crikey 1990/91 maybe? My copies of Worldwide Live (VHS and cassette) were both worn to the bone too.
  16. New venue with a new band last night, our first solo gig together. Enjoying playing with a keyboard player again, not done that since the 90’s. Crowd seemed to like it and venue said we’ll be invited back, so a good start to the new venture. Different stage presence, being just the bass player at the back and a frontman in front of me. Having spent two weeks in bed this year, so unfit and ribs were killing me, with the weight of the bass, so was wilting by the end of the night. Any advice on how to get fitter is appreciated.
  17. To paraphrase Frank Zappa “talking about (how a bass guitar sounds) is like tap-dancing about architecture” looks nice, but it seems like a pointless video unless we can hear the thing!
  18. The V-Type pre-amp is lovely - not to everyones taste, agreed as mentioned above but it gives a certain tonality that's hard to recreate with pretty much anything else. I don't have the stand alone pre, I do, however have a V4 MK2 and a V6 - both are glorious. I supplement them with additional EQ and compression (typically a Yamaha NE-1 and Boss LMB-3 or Ampeg Opto comp) but I feel they're of a clean 'open and bold' character - some say they're Fender style but I don't strictly agree with that as my Bassman 135 has very little in common with the Trace Elliot.. There's no real distortion or overdrive from the front end so if you're after that, it's probably not ideal for you.. Here's a review I did a while back.. ^^
  19. Agreed. He is also partly the reason that I bought a Warwick Streamer 😜
  20. Needs to be mint, pristine white for me. I don't do aged/roadworn instruments....
  21. Go into "My Attachments". Open the particular image.png that you want to rename (I use Irfanview) and save it as a named file (preferably a .jpg), resized if desired. Then look at the right-hand side of the "My Attachments" page, open the post that the image is in by clicking on it, and edit it - replace image.png with the named file, then remove that particular image.png. A bit laborious but you get it done in the end.
  22. The bum - puckering drilling done today in @HeadlessBassist graphite neck sourced from @Kiwi. My advice for anyone doing this for their own neck…..pillar drill set at slowest speed, new sharp cobalt drill bit which was 9.5mm to fit the supplied threaded inserts. I did some test holes into scrap wood to get the drill size and technique. Make sure the drill bit doesn’t get hot and clear the swarf regularly during drilling as this can generate heat. Holes are slightly chamfered/countersunk so the inserts are under the neck surface to make the joint completely flat. The machine screws supplied with the neck are M5 but are torx headed. A couple of these rounded off so I am replacing with M5 x 40mm Philips head. Tuner mounting screws and tree string screw should also be machine screws and into inserts.
