  1. Past hour
  2. Go on . . . . you know you want to!! I'm about to post an ad for another Trace head so you might even end up with two!!
  3. I recently relieved Martyn of a Spector Shorty (fantastic bass, by the way). All went very smoothly, with great communication, bass was well packaged and arrived safely. Thanks Martyn
  4. Just picked up a TC Spark Booster off the forum and first impressions are very favourable. It's nice and flexible depending on what you're looking for and none of the options sound straight 'bad' which is nice. As to the topic of the post, I play in 3 piece bands these days playing mainly Rock and a bit of growl fills the sound out, particularly when the guitarist is soloing.
  5. Don’t Get Me Wrong - The Pretenders
  6. OOoshh this is tempting and I am passing by pretty much en route to Kempton Park this weekend for The Guitar Show.
  7. I'd go straight for a second hand Zoom B3. Probably pick one up for around £80 and you wouldn't even need to buy a board or a power supply.
  8. You can’t wear that as hat and it’s the wrong colour.
  9. how about ERA, Bugatti and Cooper?
  10. Thermal protection only applies to the amp.
  11. Wo, hang on a minute here, people use more than 5 frets 😲
  12. "I havent ever titlted it or put it on a stand off the floor as many say dont elevate it as you lose the bottom end." And you believe that before trying this by yourself? There's lots of talk out there. You don't even need any bottom end if the noise is already unbearable.
  13. Returning from one of our trips to Germany, we got talking to a chap at Hamburg airport. He asked if we were a band, turned out he did band transport/tours. He was touting for business and swiftly established we weren’t in the league he worked in, but in chatting to him he said that his last act was making well over half a million in merch at some gigs. I won’t name them but we are talking a top act. I suppose with £50 t-shirts at large venues it’s possible.
  14. Your chance to own a piece of UK amplification history - a lovely AH250 Amp with the classic GP12 SMX Pre-amp. This one is equipped with a heat sink rather than a fan so is quiet enough for a studio but most definitely loud enough to gig with. It encompasses two pre shapes, blendable valve and Solid State pre's and dual band compression. In good order with everything working, comes in a tolex covered heavy duty sleeve. Note - one of the bolts that holds the amp in the sleeve is missing. There's some velcro stuck to the top of the sleeve. Looking for collection from Milton Keynes on this one - would be prepared to drive a reasonable distance for fuel. £250 and it's yours!
  15. For thirty years, aside from my fretless, I only had 24-fret basses. How on earth did I survive?
  16. I'm thinking of protection that predicts an overheat and reduces output power marginally rather than cutting out.
  17. Prince wrote a song about that bass.......😇
  18. I'm wondering how many 20 fret players regularly use them all.
  19. I meant the ones in @ikay's post. 🙂 The bobbin sits on top of a magnet which is glued to the base. But the bobbin itself is held on by those two screws underneath.
  20. I've loosened those screws before (just a smidge) and just coaxed the bobbin into alignment. Beware that those wires are quite fragile.

  24. This pedalboard has been never used out side my shed/den/office/hideaway. I loaded it many times in different configurations, so it show minimum signs of wear. Here’s the small one I had it loaded an then bought the large one. This is the first iteration of the big one. https://nuxaudio.com/product/bumblebee/

  25. I'm more interested in seeing the internals to get an idea of what actual circuit they're using, or how they're doing DSP. It looks like the ST-200 uses a MM74HC
