    Electronics is a lot cheaper and easier to mass produce than it was 'in the old days' Manufacturers will do market research and watch sales figures and know what sells. My first Amp in 1987 was 100w. It was just about loud enough to keep up with a drummer in a pub. But everything got louder as it got cheaper. That's not good for anyone imo. Everything is getting lighter now. It'll get to the point where everything becomes 1000W as it'll cost the same and be the same size as a 100W amp.

    I played in cover bands for hundreds of years. One of the favourite changes the drummers like to make is increasing the tempo dramatically to suit their excitement for the show. This provides a platform for the other musicians to simplify their parts, and get to the bar at break earlier, and for longer. Time at the bar slows down the second set and provides a more relaxed approach to tempo, timing, and pitch, complemented by an increase of guitar volume aprox. +12db.

    Lovely colour but I personally don't like the feel or look of open pores. If it was more 'finished' it would be gorgeous.

    I also bought some cheap Warwick strings with mine but I'm yet to fit them. After whatever grime was on the stock D'Addarios had rubbed off on my fingers, they're quite nice. Just took a week of playing it.

    Nowhere as a band, to be honest. But Eg has had a pretty stellar career since then, as artist/writer/producer. The reason I know this is that I was in a band at the time and we knew Yip Yip Coyote, went to the same gigs, clubs etc.. Plus, they were big BowWowWow fans, like my band were, so we shared common musical influences, tastes etc. I nearly bought an Odyssey bass myself back in the mid 90s (that was being advertised on Loot) , told myself I couldn't afford it, and then regretted it for months afterwards.. What a fool I was! 🤦😁

    My last pain-free day was back in October. Unfortunately, this coincided with my being in one of those mighty mega-plex malls, and I got carried away with the thrill of it all, buying a Seiko Prospex Turtle. Now, when I look at it, I'm reminded that the last day I felt decent was 5 months ago. Perhaps retail therapy isn't for me...

    I had no idea Bunde (can't do umlauts on this keyboard, unfortunately) was German for fret. I used to live near the town called Bunde in the eastern region of NRW, back in the day. Anyway, bass looks great, good luck with the sale!

    Tiny upgrade. Popped in a pair of P94s and changed the knobs to amber coloured ones (only because I shattered one of the originals getting one of the potentiometers out). From a visual aesthetic, I'm of the opinion the 90s look better than the humbuckers. I'm still staggered how good this is.

    Hi all, Up for sale is my Cort A6 bass, these are absolutely excellent 6 string basses that punch well above their weight. I'm not just saying the because I'm selling one, if you look at any thread over the years on here by anyone else selling one you'll likely see my comment about how good they are! I've had 4 of these over the years, I keep coming back to them because they pumch well above the price they sell for. One of the bridge saddles isnt original, for some reason the prior owner removed it and use the bass as a 5 string then lost the saddle! Apart from the minor visual difference, it functions exactly as the others. This was the last bass in, so needs to be the first bass out. I need a little extra cash to finish off some major house renovations we've got going on! £400 posted in the UK or £380 collected. Below is a fresh batch of photos taken a moment ago!     Agreed. If they're your brand and gauge, you're good to go. On most of my basses I usually slap on a set of 40-95 Elixirs (I like the long lasting rich tone and bendability). I recently picked up a shortscale 5-string Maruszczyk 'Mr.Tee' as a P/X which had the thickest set of flats I've seen, so they had to go. I actually found a reasonably priced set of Ernie Ball 40-95 flatwounds and added a 35 gauge for the top C. A short setup later and it plays like butter. Due to the bargain price of my own Fazley Judge Plus (aka. Kermit the Bass), I threw on a set of cheap Warwick Red Label strings that I got in the Black Friday sales. Bass £63. Strings £8. Reminds me of the cafe menus on Discworld; Rat and beans 8p Rat and ketchup 7p Rat 4p” “Why does ketchup cost almost as much as the rat?” “Have you tried rat without ketchup?!"

    Select a picture to open it. Tap on it twice. That opens up to more than the full screen, enabling you to use the cursor to closely inspect the pictures. They can actually be zoomed to pretty much life size. Perhaps LowEnd Lobster's demo bass has not had the rosewood nourished. The board on mine is excellent rosewood that is fully nourished. I maintain my basses in top condition as anybody who has bought from me will know.

    That’s the dilemma - everyone wants a really really well equipped synth with every feature known to man… but they also want quick easy presets so they don’t need to learn how to use every feature known to man. I don’t envy panda or source audio!! @Kiwi would FI4 midi out let you drive any arpeggiator you want? Or depending how it works could the midi out from pitch detector go to arpegiator and then as midi back into fi?

    I suppose it’s about money at the end of the day, if manufacturers only have practice amps at £150 then high powered gigging amps at £700 then there’s a big gap there. Anyone wanting an amp loud enough for stage use but with only being able to raise £400/£500 is then only able to go used, whereas have an in the middle amp price/power wise and said manufacturer may well get the dosh as many prefer to buy new.
