  2. Pedal bought from Ashdown as I love their signature range - and It's Guy Pratt - who doesn't like guy Pratt ?? But apart from testing it it has sat unused in it's box. So lets find it a great home. Comes with all the "case candy" including the unused rubber feet. Note that it requires a good quality 18v power supply.

  3. Nice, GLWTS!
  4. I have been asked how much does this weigh - I thought it was quite light and according to my (never cost me anything in penalty fees on Ryan air) luggage scale it weighs in at 4.22 Kg
  5. Thats good, hope it stays that way. https://mixmag.net/read/uk-lost-venue-every-two-weeks-2024-news
  6. Say What? - Trouble Funk
  7. Do I Have To Say The Words ? - Bran Adams
  8. Great set up. Ran exactly the same rig for a few years pre covid. GLWTS
  9. The Mod Shop experience isn't offered here in the Netherlands, and the way Fender designed their site the configurator can't even be accessed from here, as much as I'd love to have some fun with it I do own a Mod Shop Jaguar (g**t*r, sorry) but I bought it used so I can't comment on the experience of ordering one. Mine came with a spec sheet that doesn't fully match the actual build. For one, the sheet mentions a bound fingerboard but it doesn't have one - and it probably never was an actual option for lefties. It should also have V-mod pickups but the ones actually in it appear to be some kind of 1962 reissue pickup with bevelled polepieces and cloth wire. I'm pretty sure the neck is the actual one it came with, because there is no other way of acquiring a 24" scale lefty 60s spec C-shape Fender USA neck with a 9.5" radius outside the actual Custom Shop or the Mod Shop. It's a fantastic guitar by all means, with impeccable build, fit and finish.
  10. They're supposed to be enabling audio over USB soon as well. This would be useful for many modern devices, such as smartphones and tablets, that no longer include headphone sockets. It would be handy if it could supply power over USB too, to charge up a device at the same time.
  11. Yes, lots of reversed studio effects etc. I guess you could do a version but it wouldn't sound like the original
  12. It has happened to me twice over the years, involving the same guitarist. I was blamed the first time because he couldn’t take the politics created by the other guitarist about me. That guitarist then went in to join another long standing band, run by a music teacher and her husband. They were traumatised. It has never reformed. a few years later just before lockdown he asked me to join another group. After lockdown he and the bass player,(I play keys as well) advertised for a keyboard player. he has asked several times would I play with him…..he seems upset somehow I can never make it. so I join those who say walk away…. But learn from this experience mention it at the start. That band should be honest enough to have honest discussions about these decisions and why. It’s not for you if they don’t understand. My beef is the PA. First 5 piece singer turns up 15 minutes before start and walks away as soon as money given out. They still play 3-4 times a year. Now I say it should be no one leaves until everyone is packed up. It working at the moment with two other bands and some 30 odd gigs. Sometimes I not only have the bass rig but also the keys, if one of the two guitarists is absent. I then play bass in the left hand. Can sound very realistic and I have had people come and look to see whose playing bass when the bassist has sat down to play keys🤣 so your not alone, walk away but try to learn from it because, if you don’t, it’ll probably happen again…….
  13. Feel free to make offers, I'm having something of a gear clear-out at present, and if you haven't used one of these before, they are extremely useful practice tools, and with a little bit of experimentation are also good for live and recording 👍
  14. The place is about as Irish as my big toe
  15. Decided to sell individually as well as possible job lot(s) £120 for all 14 pads or £15 each plus postage. Thanks
  16. U.K. postage for this week a coming in around £110 on Shiply.com which would make the cab, 550 delivered so I’m happy to half the expense and sell for 500 delivered.
  17. U.K. postage is around 70 on Shiply so would let this go for £400 delivered Thanks
  18. I had the 2x8" combo too - really nice sound and very cool styling, but insanely heavy for a small combo. Made by Carlsbro apparently. OP amp looks a bargain for proper quality kit
  19. Talking Loud And Clear - OMD
  20. Do I need it? No. Would I gig it? No. Would I even play it? No. Do I want it? YES 🤔
  21. Yakkity Yak - Chas and Dave
  22. That might be it. We mostly play Nottingham and venues further North and as I said there is no shortage of gigs for us.
  23. That colour is cool… I reckon a HH would suit me but the house is meant to be starting soon so I’ve been told no more basses. GLWTS
  24. Al Jarreau did a very very good version
  25. When I moved to Nottingham in 1980 there were essentially 5 places for local originals bands to play: The Ad-Lib Club The Boat Club The Hearty Goodfellow The Newshouse (if you played blues-rock) The Buttery Bar at Nottingham University (technically you had to be at the university, but local bands could get a gig there if they knew the right people). Right now the list looks like this: The Boat Club The Bodega Bunkers Hill The Chapel at The Angel Microbrewery The Grove Jam Café JT Soar Liquid Light Metronome The Mist Rolling Inn The Old Cold Store The Old Salutation Inn The Rescue Rooms Rough Trade Saltbox As you can see that's 3 times as many and I'm sure I've missed a couple. The thing is, on the originals circuit, venues come and go, but here in Nottingham over the last 45 years they have been slowly increasing in number. We've lost couple recently, but the Maze has re-appeared at The Old Cold Store and The Chameleon in the basement of The Mist Rolling Inn. Getting a gig at any of these venues (with the exception of a couple which are very genre-specific), should be within reach of any well-organised and entertaining originals band - I've played most of the venues listed above within the last few years. Maybe Nottingham is special when it comes to venues for original bands? All I know is what I see, and there appear to be plenty of opportunities for my band to play all over the country. We'd be gigging every other weekend if the logistics were right. As it is we have 7 definite well-paid gigs in the next 4 months and several more that are just awaiting final confirmation.
  26. Speaking as someone who plays in a Zep tribute, unfortunately that song (with the original Zeppelin arrangement) is virtually impossible to play live! All sorts of jiggery, and indeed pokery, went on in the recording - one of the reasons I believe that even LZ never attempted to play it live.
