  1. Past hour
  2. I have one of these on my little board and I'm very fond of it. Glwts
  3. Hi, many thanks for your thoughts and experiences with the SR505. TBH I've always liked the look and feel of the SR's right across the range but never been a fan of the tones from the stock bartolini but most of all the tight spacing on the 5's. Had the same problem with the spacing on a Sterling 5 Stingray so moved it on.
  4. The certainly work well on my Lee Sklar copy.
  5. These are essentially the same as the fender ones in different packaging - D'addario make Fender's strings for them; so yes that';s my experience of these strings too (in Fender guise). I also have two identical Daphne blue tuners - one branded Fender and one branded D'addario.
  6. I'm a bit late but Guitar Workshop was a small/medium music shop in St Michael's Hill (number 159 IIRC but I could easily be wrong), Redland, Bristol. I used to frequent there in the 1980s but I'm not sure if it was a chain or a single shop. They sold a range of new instruments from cheap (like the guitar I bought - the headstock snapped after about 2-3 years and I didn't even gig with it - not GW branded BTW) to expensive and out of the price range of a 16-year-old FE college student with big dreams and a terminal shortness of cash. Wow, that was 40 years ago and that's all I remember so sorry I can't be of more help.
  7. Yep, I think so too. Either that or grab an M5/M7 then sell the M2. I'm also a sucker for a maple fretboard.
  8. I can only get my head around this by seeing it on a graph. Power (W) vs. output (dBA)
  9. I see Yamaha have done some nice colours on the new Pacifica SC. Would be nice to them on a BB. Then again, I’m skint…so. Meh.
  10. That doesn't seem unreasonable - 10 years ago stuff was much cheaper, and second hand amps have always been a fraction of new ones.
  11. Likewise Colin! Enjoyed the chat and banter! The bass is superb! Looking forward to gigging with it soon!
  12. Aargh I sold mine and still regret it. Sorry to hear about your situation. Amazing preamp.
  13. If you already have the M2, I would suggest an entirely different 5 string to give some variation tbh.

I had wondered about that, but do not know if it would actually sloooowww ittttt doooooooooowwwwwwwwwwn or just pitch it dow.
  15. An excellent 6/12-stage phaser, being a clone of the revered Moogerfooger 103. I’ve just received a brand new exemplar from Andertons today as a replacement for one I bought a few months ago that had a loose connection. I’m on a drive to raise money due to unemployment so don’t even want to put this on my board. As yet I haven’t even opened it. I’m happy to leave it unopened or to open to test and photograph for the buyer (once payment is received) if desired. Price includes recorded UK postage. Stock photo for illustrative purposes.

Thanks. I shall hunt them all down.
  17. Downtuning, if you've never done it and like a bit of filth and swagger, is life-changing.
  18. I had an Ibanez SR505 which was my first 5 string, never looked back. I loved the both-on tone but it felt less impressive when the blend went towards the neck or bridge pickup. Lovely rich, burpy, almost R&B tone, I think I’d categorise as 90s bartolini. Very slim neck with tight spacing so fast but I could not slap or pick. Good bass. Light. Fast. But not for me.
  19. Google AI implies Reclusiarch Records is just a single person who does electronic mixes (ie, "band" is a heck of a stretch): "Reclusiarch Records appears to be primarily associated with Reclusiarch Aurelius, a user on SoundCloud, a platform for sharing electronic music, particularly mixes and tracks with a retro or trance/techno vibe, referencing iconic mixes like Global Underground 006 and Global Underground 010. While not a formal record label, the name evokes the Reclusiarch (Chaplain) figure from Warhammer 40,000, suggesting a thematic link to solitude, lore, and perhaps dark, immersive electronic sounds. Key Aspects: SoundCloud Presence: Reclusiarch Aurelius is the main entity, known for uploading mixes and remixes. Genre/Style: The content leans towards electronic, trance, and techno, with specific references to classic mixes. Thematic Naming: "Reclusiarch" draws from the grimdark universe of Warhammer 40k, implying deep, perhaps solitary or intense musical exploration. In essence, think of it as a personal music curation identity rather than a commercial label, focused on deep cuts and nostalgic electronic sounds."
  20. Women: kingaglyk.com Alissia Benveniste Mohini Dei Men: Tom Kennedy Richard Bona charlesberthoud.com I don't think you lost a thing. These are flashy players but I still think most of the bass work is done in half or first position and with roots and fifths. Good timing is still the key.
  21. Michael Puble (Pronounced the same way, just with a 'P'....try it!)
  22. "Our band is launching a new album and we are in need of a lead, rhythm and bass guitarist as well as a drummer with and electric kit" Our band aka singer
  23. I had one as a monitor and noodled through it at home a couple of times. Was impressed but never used it as an amp with other players.
