For sale, Moving on this lovely EBS HD350 as I have just bought a TD660, mainly due to my seemingly, increasingly loud drummer! I cant imagine too many players having that issue as it isn't a shrinking violet by any means. Offered in very good used condition and perfect working order. Anyhow, great construction and quality as you'd expect and lots of easily accessible eq variables, built in drive and compressor. I found it hard to make it sound bad, i dont usually have any issues in that department 😂 runs right down to 2 ohms so many cab arrangements are possible. Bought from BC and the seller stated that it had been serviced in the last 12 months, no documents but I have no reason to doubt him. The only thing I have noticed since getting my 660 is the mesh behind the front panel appears to be missing (presumed perished)? I guess this would be able to be replaced from EBS if you felt the need. A nearly new hard rack case, and uk postage included, completes the package. Cheers.

I can't see any explanation of caremelised on Harley Benton's site, but the cheap ones appear caramelised, and the more expensive are roasted. In all the press about roasted neck instruments, they mention the neck has been roasted to give extra stability, in all the caramelised ones they just mention it is a nicer colour. If I was to buy an HB with what I see on the net, I would assume that caramelised was just like the presidential tribute spray tan version! -
Result! Looks like you got it for a good price as well so congratulations. One thing I forgot to mention in my earlier post was how good the PJB one-knob limiter/compressor is at just tightening things up. Enjoy!

Can someone with more tech knowhow/experience than me please start a proper list? I'll be bringing my Shuker JJ Burnel Signature Lite P-bass (AKA the "Nuclear Device"), a Hofner HCT Contermporary 500/1, an NS WAV 4 headless, a first-batch Sterling by Music Man one-knob Joe Dart and a 1970s hollowbody thought to be a Columbus, but it may be an Epiphone! Amplification TBC, but may include my ex-The Script Ashdown ABM Evo II 600 and a Warwick Gnome i Pro v2 and a handbuilt cab bought from The Fasting Showman and imho better than the Barefaced One10 that I had before.

Caramelised and roasted both mean that the wood has been treated by torrefaction. Harley Benton may be using different sources/grades but if those necks are merely stained that would be deliberately misleading. Has anyone actually cut a caramelised nevk to check? Orbis it just an assumption. -

Looking for recomendations on the best replacement tuners for a Yamaha bb1100s. Just after getting the Preamp fixed the G tuner has snapped (a bit like me after several decades of use it's starting to show it's ware) Ideal scenario is a NOS or original one, however I'm tempted to put some new ones on. Any recommendations for the best retro fit ideally without extra drilling! Thanks

Soundproofed basement is nearest the truth - we have a little stone barn with 2' thick walls that we use for practice. But we're moving next year and we're planning some sort of combined lounge-come-practice-room so we'll have to see what sort of house we find. -
When I ordered my 3x10 in May 2024, lead time was stated at 6 to 8 weeks, and it took 8 weeks. I'm waiting on another 1x10 at the moment, and lead time has been stated at 6 to 12 weeks. I don't know if it's the move to new premises, or just increased demand which is affecting lead times. I'm sure Scott Devine and Ian Martin Allison have had a lot to do with the increased exposure and interest for Barefaced too. Rob

Working through the ABRSM piano grades
bass_dinger replied to bass_dinger's topic in Other Instruments
Just to add, that my initial few months of lessons were spent undoing bad techniques and habits. I am currently frustrated by how unmusical I am on the piano. So, if you take piano lessons, do not be surprised to feel that you are going backwards, in terms of skills and ability to play. However, I am now at the stage of being able to improvise stuff without thinking about it. That's because the lessons have given me the necessary technique. -

Hi, someone had measured this wide range with a multimeter? what is the DC resistance? Original 70's ones were around 23-27k ohms
-
It seems to be a design feature across a few of their designs, even on the premium lines... doesn't do it for me but so it goes.

A shop in Chichester currently has one of his Rik-a-like basses. Looks normal but for 6 controls instead of 4.
