  1. Past hour
  2. Arrived an hour ago, so just four days from order to delivery. It's a bit short on power to do Wembley stadium, but should add a bit of je ne sais quoi to the average pub gig. Definitely worth a tenner.
  3. So finally the best amp Ive ever used. It’s an absolute monster. Loads of drive and inherent tone baked in. It sounds absolutely stunning when it’s cranked. I’ve paired it with my Barefaced Cabs (also for sale) with a couple of pedals but it’s best left as clean as possible to bring through the ABM tone. it’s immaculate and has always been housed in the SKB case which is also included in the sale. Based South Birmingham near M42
  4. I like EMG stuff, I don't have any direct experience with that set. Reading the blurb it says If you want a wider range of tones that might limit you as I don't think the pickup tone would be wildy different on it's own. I'd be wondering about something with mid range boost? The pluses are that the EMG should be hum free, better the dynamic range (I think they sound better with more voltage: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/197519674095) and you probably could fit at home, even with no experience as their system is solder free. Minuses are that it will be pretty similar to your current range of sounds.
  5. She should have listened to the stage hands. They usually mark a designated area for each band to put their gear.
  6. I am selling 2 x BBII. Price is £600 each. Both are in excellent/immaculate condition with no dings or marks. Both have padded covers. These cabs are insanely good and very very loud. Can be used single or in parallel for more output. Pics to follow asap.

  7. Greatest speaker to improve any TC Electronic with 8 inches speakers. GLWYS.
  8. This is literally my dream bass and it's come at the worst timing 😓
  9. Thanks for the comment. I'm glad it sounds OK. Better to be consistently wrong than all over the place - as you say, perhaps it's partly the bridge intonation. The strings are really light gauge so I can't quite get enough relief on the neck with them as things are - once I have the new bridge installed I'll do a proper setup with my usual strings. Currently with the truss rod slackened off, there's a verrrry slight back bow giving some rattle around the first few frets. The parts are all arriving over the next few days - the bridge and decal are here, the pickup surround and loom are in the post - so we're nearly there.
  10. Velcro Fly — ZZ Top
  11. Human Fly - The Cramps
  12. Hi, For sale the above, in full working order and great condition. Not needed now, recording finished. Price includes UK Mainland Delivery.
  13. I agree. Not enough strings or note-position choices. Too thin a neck. Yet most pop songs in the past 70 years have a 4-string bass guitar on the track, and many bassists are very musical and capable on a 4 string bass.
  14. I'd definitely buy this if I hadn't bought the lovely Bryant from @bassace six months ago!
  15. Your intonation is more than correct Chris, no big out of tune notes at all, just always a bit too sharp, but don't worry it doesn't destroy the music at all. I've heard way more out of tune notes by professional renowned classical violinists or cellists, but beware of the lines as you'll start playing out of tune for sure if you rely on them (your always a bit too sharp intonation is certainly because of that). That said you can use a slight bit of chorus if you're not 100% confident with your intonation, it will level things up. Concerning the ebony fingerboard, it will take years and years of heavy playing to mark it to a no return point, but a levelling will sort it. And raise that E string a bit, it will breathe even more. 😉
  16. Line 6 HX Stomp... took in a trade to try out before buying a HX ONE for my setup. Mint condition, with a brand new Protection Racket padded bag. Price includes UK Special Delivery, not really looking at trades!

  19. PM’d Out of interest… does anyone know would these fit a JMJ?
  20. Unused, Price includes UK postage. 'The HB7 is a direct replacement for Fender® Highway One tuning machines first featured on many MIM models. It is now a popular choice for many contemporary Fender® basses including Vintage Modified Squire®, USA and Custom Shop models.'
  21. Bought this in the hope it might fit my vintage mustang but no luck. Dave at Eternal Guitars had aged it before we realised! This model fits Mexican-made fenders and would be a great drop-in for someone with a JMJ Mustang. Price includes UK postage.
  22. True, but whether the BB3 is FRFR depends on the tweeter setting on the cab. It cannot be flat at all settings and IMO EQ/Tone happens at the bass and/or amp, not the cabinet.
  23. Having a bit of a clear out. I almost always play my Sandberg or bitsa basses so everything else is going. This is an Ibanez SRMD200 4 string medium scale bass (New price £299 at Andertons) It's no secret that the stock preamp is a bit crap. This has significant upgrades to: EMG PJ-X set (New £140 ish) EMG BTC 2 band EQ on a stacked pot (New - £90 ish) EMG ABCX Active Balance control (new about £80) It also has a lovely set of Dunlop Medium Scale flatwound strings - that were a whopping £80 on their own. They should have at least another 5 years in them. It's in great condition and sounds amazing. There's a bit of dust on it that I didn't notice when taking the photos. The sticker covers the redundant hole that the original preamp used. No doubt a better sticker that was a colour match could be found! I am of course aware that modified basses can be more difficult to sell especially as the new price of all this would be over £600 (ignoring the strings), so this is up for a bargain: £350.00 Collection from Northants near J16 on the M1. I don't have any suitable shipping boxes and with the closure of the local PMT the nearest place I might be able to get a proper guitar box would need me to travel for a 2 hour round trip. That being said, I might be able to meet you somewhere in true Basschat dodgy service station tradition. Not looking for any trades as I really need to make some room in the house.
  24. 5 string basses for me now, different story. I didn't mean bass in general
  25. One of my biggest regrets is not buying the Zon Legacy Elite 5 I saw advertised for £1k about 20 years ago. And yes, Mansons are incredibly thin on the ground. I've only ever seen one for sale, and that was in 1986.
