Hi all, Now that I've finally managed to put down my newly-acquired Am Pro 2 Jazz (amazing!!!), I am circling back to my 75 Musicmaster project. It's still playable but rough enough to warrant the need to make some changes. I am happy overall with the neck (needs a buff, polish and waxing, fretboard will need de-greased and oiled), tuners (will de-gunk those), pickup and a few other bits but I will definitely be needing to completely redo the tone pot, input jack and bridge. Still debating as to whether or not I'll repaint it. A luthier in these parts is apparently very good at doing 60's and 70's Fender catalogue colours and I have always fancied the Daphne Blue look... Anyway, looking into bridges, I have happened across two viable options: 1: Halon Musicmaster bridge from Greece https://halonguitarparts.com/product/musicmaster-bass-bridge/ 2: Albridge Musicmaster bridge from Via Ampshop in the US https://www.ampshopbassexchange.com/product/albridge-parts-mms18-vintage-bridge-for-musicmaster-short-scale-direct-replacement/ Both look like excellent options. My question would be - has anyone had experience with either provider? I've heard great things about the AmpShop products but not-so-great things about communication, lead times and customer service. I've emailed Halon and have had a reply from the owner, Haris, who seemed quite nice and helpful. Keen to hear your thoughts

These seem to be getting a bit rarer but despite chasing one of these for years after selling my first i think i need to acknowledge my back needs some lighter weight gear. Here we have a USA made SVT III which preceded the current 3pro's. This one has the much famed SVT IIP preamp couples with a big old led sled solid state power amp. 3 x 12AX7's give it a nice throaty growl but there is no full on valve distortion here just a nice old school type roar. Is missing one slider cap but can still be changed with a plectrum - not that i use the graphic EQ anyway. A few of the pots could do with a blast of deoxit as the amp has been set at my fave EQ and never really changed. I dont have a rack case or anything so ideally its collection from Bolton only but could meet within reason. Possibly consider a part ex for an Ashdown Little Bastard/CTM30 Pics to follow asap

I am currently having a little bit of trouble with my KORG TM-60 tuner metronome combo. When I turn on the tuner, the tuner scale gets stuck on a B sharp or C major, and when I turn it on in a silent room it has the same issue. Unfortunately it cant pick up any other pitches, other than the one it is stuck on. Any suggestions?

1960s, I guess. The adjustment at the nut is not something I've seen before - was it a common feature at some point? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/405863005694?itmmeta=01JV8VZADF5CG7YP0KVWG9S5YD&hash=item5e7f51fdfe:g:5zIAAOSwYiNoI5Nm&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA4MHg7L1Zz0LA5DYYmRTS30nNijOSOrzkDAnLiGf1TkSPifVn13Fdn5qXFc5XQNpEIt876IXQXLIPNRw6xHmhQ7EgtRghiJ87ly5WP8xLI23VUxjM1GW7k%2B4GcZ%2B9AMuSPBWnmYhyAZdKtWh7CiKs5%2F2258QfqWB0JNP8Ts7mI27WlogEsifognBTXEqUmI63e9bXTfFPqZtGydEqIAG1Ylg10KYpSmyo1bUvAcUknsWBGz8AFHR6vRUxwY6M5o1CzGkmCF6kkajHIeXWZgjHAtJSlyT2BbomxTRU7Nn0ThMl|tkp%3ABk9SR_Cm_ZvaZQ

The story actually evolves around what comes with age. Don't ask how it happened, I don't know it just did. I didn't realize it when I left home for the show. I had put my underwear on backwards. I knew something didn't feel right by the time I arrived at the gig. I was tired and a little confused . I just said " screw it" entered the bathroom and took all my clothes off and put my underwear on correctly . Lol I guess that's rock & roll. Daryl

Did some rough basslines this evening, using garageband for a project I'm helping out with. Relatively small room with lots of gear in so I took the Squier Jag SS. Acquitted itself well. -
Slightly off that line of discussion, on Facebook today was saying they use a class D 3000W karaoke speaker for their bass at home and it sounds great. A bit of digging showed the '3000W PMPO' device as rated at 2 x 150W into 4 Ohms.

I think that if tuners have rounded ends to the notches, then they are modern ones, no matter how 'aged' they look.

I’m not from Cornwall. Sorry. however I’ve only been an Emmet once I recommend a tc electronic bh250. You can tweak it with your phone and it has a silent always-on tuner. It’s tiny and super loud
-
I wish I hadn't seen that 🫣😅 They also have a BB2025
-
Again no experience with FBTs, sorry, but I can vouch Phil's comment that the RCF 912As are good, and maybe worth adding to your shortlist if they are comparably priced? I was really happy with the sound we were getting at our last couple of pub gigs, fulsome low end without needing a sub. (Very short clip here to give you an idea of how they were sounding on Saturday night, recorded on our singer's phone).

Got back off holiday to find my Squier Sonic Bronco waiting for me. Haven't had a chance to plug it in yet, what with it being late and the neighbours likely in bed, but had a quick noodle unplugged and am very happy with it for the cash. A couple of sprouty frets, but nothing a sanding block and 5 minutes of my day can't fix. Looking forward to giving it an out-loud go tomorrow. -

I will hard pass on any strings that are priced that high, I don't use flats anymore but when I did I wouldn't have paid that. -

No direct experience with this model but I quite like what FBT are offering. It’s nice to get a wooden cab at this price. If you are looking at this the RCF 912 is around the same price and has a similar spec. Definitely worth a look as well. Generally speaking I’d say RCF are the ones to beat at the moment, both make fantastic speakers. I think @skidder652003 was using FBT’s when I saw his band in Sidmouth a few years back but that may be a false memory.
