  2. Get a load of THIS! Impossible! Jeff Berlin's complete bass performance of the tune 'Porky And Beans' from his 2008 album, 'Aneurythms;. I have been at this for days and I can't see it now. It's as good as I can get it for now. This is the bass part and does not include the distorted bass solo. It is very indistinct and, if I am honest, I don't like it when JB does that (or anyone else, for that matter). I like to hear the BEHS! https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/porky-and-beans-jeff-berlin/
  3. Mine has a low 2 digit S/N and I was told by Status it was 1984. There's an older one (sold) on Reverb with 388 S/n advertised as 1988 by BassBros, whom I think are pretty good store.
  4. I fitted a Tonerider TRP1 in my Squier mini P Bass a few weeks ago, also making a new loom using mini CTS pots and other quality parts. I thought the stock ceramic pickup sounded okay, but the tonerider made a much bigger improvement to the sound than I thought would be possible.
  5. Great to hear Andy, I’ve said to hell with it and thrown caution to the wind. I’ve got one being built as we speak 😊
  6. Pubs? Check for a freezer or a light dimmer switch.
  7. These are iconic Fender's and what a bargain.
  8. Erm, Status Graphite and Steinberger... I'm not sure what date mine is.
  9. Today
  10. Yours if you want it…
  11. I like the look of them; a headless 5-string could be a goer for me. I'm not sure about locking jacks - I thought they'd been and had their day in the 80s.
  12. Two guitar capos, both in great condition! £8 delivered?
  13. These are fantastic basses. So good that I got both the blue and the black one! GLWTS!
  14. Slowly and difficult! You have top play the stick through an amp; it doesn't really work not plugged in. (But plugged in it sounds really impressive.) I'm finding the fattest bass string gets in the way of the next one, which is a hindrance. I have done various bits of tapping on the bass, so I'm either really impressive doing those things I have muscle memory for or really useless searching around for notes. I play guitar, but fretting notes with my right hand and playing scales seems to go against the direction my fingers want to go. All-in-all, it's interesting...
  15. Nerina Pallot, Sunday night in Woking!

  17. Thank you for your comment. it is true. it is a very very good precision with an amazing neck. i m entering in a amateur band and i have to buy other music gear
  18. A slight variation tonight. GK Legacy 800 head for a slight change 😆. The Fusion 550 is off the road for a small repair. Sounded good at sound check through the LFSys.
  19. They are lovely when you blend them.
  20. Chop Suey! - SOAD

  22. There are some very talented upright and fretless players out there, but few if any could bring the magic that he bought. I remember the first time I heard him play, with Martyn, it was a definitive moment at which something inside me changed forever. I didn't especially like the music to be honest, but was completely drawn in by the magical sound. It was hypnotic. RIP Danny, you will be remembered by many and missed by many, but what a life and what a contribution ❤️
  23. Does anybody know if the bolt-on Yamaha BBVI has the same pickups as the through neck BB1200? I'm really taken with the idea of a BB1200 but the weight of them (and the price now) makes it a no go for me unfortunately. I'm wondering if the cheaper and a bit lighter BBVI would be a good buy instead? Thoughts appreciated...
  24. I have an Epiphone Embassy which I really like the sound of..
  25. Yup, I’m in that camp too. I’ve been more than satisfied with all the lightweight amps & cabs I’ve had but whenever I’ve used a bit of old heavy gear there’s just been something “more” to the sound and the feel of the sound on stage. Especially if it’s a big stage.
