Bassman666 started following Clover apeiron jazz 5 GOLD!
-
Hi folks, putting this beauty up for sale. It's SPARKLY GOLD! It's a clover apeiron, I believe made in Germany. This has a MM J layout, with a switch that goes from passive JJ vol/blend/tone to active jmm treble bass. In my opinion the MM pickup sounds nothing like a stingray but very useable. It's SPARKLY GOLD! I fitted a set of hipshot lollipop tuners to add some extra coolness. Can come with then schallers that were fitted however they are not original anyway. I can knock £100 off if the lollipops aren't wanted. It's SPARKLY GOLD! Plays and sounds great, has a few small marks from use and some of the headstock logo has come off. Comes with a used but fitted original hardcase. Weight is 10.5lbs and did I mention that it's SPARKLY GOLD! Viewing welcome, 5 string trades considered. Thanks!

Ground wounds / Pressure wounds
Jean-Luc Pickguard replied to Duroc17's topic in Accessories and Misc
I've not used ground/pressure wounds as far as I remember, but Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats are way brighter than D'addario Chromes, and they stay bright. Maybe not as bright as fresh rounds, but certainly a lot more so than all the other flats I've used. I love 'em and so do my 4003 & thunderbirds. I have not tried them on a precision yet, but I have a set on order ready for when I get my bitzer back this week from the gallery where it is having some work done. -

Bassman666 started following Dingwall AB1 6 string
-
Hi folks, putting this beast up for sale. It's an amazing bass that I really want to keep, however none of the music I play needs a 6 string so figured I'd try find it a new home! It sounds incredible with the neo pickups, so much punch. It is fully passive with a vol/4 way/tone controls. Incredibly light for a 6 at 8.9lbs, balances perfectly and is currently fitted with a fresh set of stainless dingwall strings but will also come with some worn in Payson nickels. I believe it is alder with a 5 piece maple neck and wenge board. There are a few scratches and marks that I've tried to photo however the combination of gloss black/crap camera make it difficult so viewing welcome or can try get better pictures. Not really interested in offers as have been offered strong part ex money, however may take a 5 string trade or part ex depending what's on offer. Meet up or collection preferred however can box up at buyers risk. Thanks!

Warwick tuners 5 string black

Yes, I believe they did a series of these in the E-serial period (1984-1987). I've always wanted one. I once found one local to me. I made an offer and the seller accepted, but between all emails he got about the bass he lost mine and he sold it to someone else. I found out from their NBD thread on a Dutch forum Those 1980s MIJ Fenders and Squiers are fantastic. I have little experience with the basses, but a 1985 E-series Squier Strat has been my number one for many years. Best €175 I ever spent.

There's a lot of truth in this. I meant to type more alike than different. Edited my post.

Based on the dopamine hit I get from every bass I try in a store there's truth to this. I want them all 😂 When viewed philosophically though a bass is essentially just two pieces of wood (neck thru and set necks excepted) attached with a few screws and then seasoned with some more pieces of metal and some magnets. They're all more alike than they're different. This mindset helps me to stop buying more 😁

Jack started following MM Stingray graphite necks - a feeler

Assuming we can 5+ bassists to agree on anything, is there a rough indication of price? I think around £500 for a 'standard' one was mentioned in the other thread? Never mind, just seen the £480 in the thread titles. Otherwise, I'd like mine as much as possible to be a normal Stingray neck, just graphite. 3+1 tuners, normal nut width, etc etc. Whilst I don't feel super strongly, I would tick a luminlay option box if such a thing existed, but that would be the only difference I'd want and even then not really that much.
