  2. I just set it flat and tweak to taste
  3. Night nurse - Gregory Isaacs
  4. Apparently 8lbs Sterlings exist but when I was researching them the lightest I could find was 9lbs and most of them hovered around the 10lbs mark
  5. Wow! I've just had a search through the archives and have found 'photos from that gig in 2004! In one you can make out my guitar stand and no! There are no other basses to be seen! I have no idea why, but I'm definitely sat down on a stool witha broken bass ha ha! Probably learned my lesson!
  6. Absolute beast of an amp, I have mine in the same gator rack bag. Best amp I’ve ever owned . Glwts
  7. I hope so. I've played thru a couple of full fat SVTs and loved them. I'll try and get plugged in later today and give it a whirl Any settings to start with?
  8. The cheaper the neck the more work it is likely to need so sometimes that £50 ebay neck might need £150 worth of fretwork to get it playing right. Mind you, sometimes a real Fender neck will need that as well.
  9. I do own a Laney 15W Ironheart IRT-Studio Aniversery Edition, with a poweramp/transformator DI output, and build in load, so no conection os speakers is necessary for it to operate. This is how it looks (random Google photo): And an old 50W Dynacord Bass-King produced in Germany in the early 60's (my actual unit), which sound non less than astonishing, but is in need of new power tubes, and a bit of work, like cleaning pots: Currently though I use the poweramp section of an old 120W solid state Peavey guitar amp, to power my "amp-less" setup, 2 always on tube preamps, one as the very beginning of the chain and one at the very end, is part of this setup though.
  10. Yes, which is a little sad as the Ray5 or OLP Tony Levin (also 22 fret neck) would be good inexpensive donor bodies.
  11. A quick shout out to Thomas at GuitarGuitar Epsom. excellent to deal with, super helpful and they have a first rate tech there, and you get a meeting with him to get your set up done before you leave recommended
  12. Today
  13. My SVT-II non pro is from 1991 and I have the December 1994 Ampeg update with various update information. The amp makes a loud pop when engaging the EQ on the pre-amp (in and out) and I cannot find the reason. In the 1994 update the pre-amp schematic is 07S519-02. My pc-board says 06A519 01 and the SLM drawing in the 1994 update is an 07-519-01 dated 8-23-88. The 02 schematic is quite different from the 01 pc-board which becomes obvious when checking the pcb tracks. Now my questions: Has anyone an ...-01 schematic and has anyone an idea where the pop comes from and how to fix it? Thanks Jurgen
  14. Yep, I'm still quite content with my PF50T. We have a guitarist using a Fender Blues Junior and also two vocal mics, trombone and flute onstage, so we're never pushing stage volume that much that it's a limitation. It's even done a couple of small halls without PA reinforcement, through my two 1x12 cabs. It did take me a little while getting my approach to the EQ figured out again when I changed from flats to rounds a while back, but that's a me problem.
  15. Aw man, I just cleaned out my slush on my car's MOT and the bridge. Rotten timing!
  16. Alas, too much for me. One day I'll find a really light one. Probably 10 mins before my car bursts into flames knowing my luck.
  17. The seller for my neck no longer has any for sale. I suspect they may be made by a Fender/Squier manufacturer in China and one or two of them disappear out the back door. But these look like the exact same ones https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?item=177280017838&rt=nc&_trksid=p4429486.m3561.l170197&_ssn=ningbohante20231205
  18. There's a few sets of 1/2" Ultralites (USA and Lic) for sale on here at the moment.
  19. White coat syndrome. I had to look that up. It seems a fairly natural response to knowing one’s efforts are being recorded for posterity.
  20. I made this pdf i don't know if you can show it properly, What do you think of the notes for the song? Gloria a deus nas alturas.pdf
  21. When I was doing the educational music trust thing kids would get promoted up into the next difficulty ensemble and many would be very nervous. Sometimes it was quite a jump even when there was a 4th part for their instrument. Always told them to start just playing the root on beat 1 of each bar. Do that for 2 or 3 rehearsals. Then play whatever the right note was for beat 2 and so on Building their confidence until they filled the gaps. Didn't matter if it took a couple of weeks or even a term. They were counting right and adding in the notes as they got confident. They got to feel like they were joining in properly even if they were only playing 1 note in a bar. Funny how quick progress is when they are having fun and not feeling like they are making mistakes.
  22. Apologies its sold but i didnt change the header!
  23. Yeah definitely, they are great, the only time I’d get rid of mine is if a B15 heritage came along
