  2. I think you’re right. I also think we’re at the mercy of fashion and how fickle bass players are. Mark Bass used to be the go to for cabs but now you can’t give them away.
  3. No, I don't get this at all. Mrs. Neepheid supports my hobby. Occasionally she encourages me to buy a bass I like - genuine conversation: "Do you like it?" "Yes." "Then you should buy it." She's even bought me a bass before. The kind of nonsense highlighted by the OP makes me sad, because unfortunately for some other people it might be true
  4. Thanks. It’s mad isn’t it? I’m selling it for a friend’s widow along with some other stuff. I’ve sold a few pedals from a large collection for her, all at knockdown prices compared to their true worth. Got loads left, so not sure how to sell them without giving them away. I guess with backline the effect of IEMs must be one reason the market is so static, along with the holiday period and money worries for many folk.
  5. That’s it, still good fun, and for me it’s the taking part that counts, and hearing what others have made of it. I genuinely can’t imagine anyone other than me wanting to hear one of my tunes more than once anyway, so maybe it’s best they are spared the experience in the first place? 😂😊

I thought they stopped the binding on latest ones. It doesn't look bound when you zoom in to the pic. I prefer not bound.
  7. Just One More - Nickelback
  8. No - I'm divorced - but I gave up buying basses in 2017.
  9. No, the worst I get will be an eye roll or 'another one?' a 'thats ugly' - the basses are mostly paid for by my gigging money, so it is largely self supported, and most of the basses hang on various walls.
  10. Really tough market out there at the moment. I’m selling the exact same cab and a 15 and had pretty much zero interest in two months. Not even silly offers. EBay and Facebook are no better. Hoping it picks up soon. Good luck with the sale - these cabs have to be worth more than £250 - they’re awesome bits of kit.
  11. 99 Luftballons - Nena
  12. Mine fairly supportive but she doesn’t get involved. As long as it’s kept fairly clean and doesn’t take up too much space she’s fairly happy. However I don’t buy much and anything I buy and don’t like I sell for same that I paid or more money
  13. Flake Of Fire - Nirvana
  14. Nope, Mrs Axe is unreasonably supportive of my musical endeavours and the profligate gear acquisition that goes with it. The latter is (mostly) funded by gig money, and the bills all get paid, so the main sticking point is the space required - at present, an upstairs room, a downstairs cupboard, a chunk of the loft, and most of the space under the spare bed. I consider myself lucky.
  15. this is a particularly nice example
  16. Your Latest Twix - Dire Straits
  17. Oh yeah, I've been to shows at Glastonbury with five people at them. There are just so many artists, so many small stages, and not enough time in the day. On my second visit I was still discovering entire areas of the festival site with multiple stages I'd never even seen listed on a timetable. Lots of them were just vendors or art groups throwing up a riser in the corner of their location or similar. It's not your standard "main stage and two big tops" festival setup. That works both ways though: there are punters who go to hang about Strummerville/Arcadia/Shangri-La for the entire weekend and will never even be within earshot of Pyramid, so there are built in crowds for some of the more niche stages.
  18. Drifter Way - Michael Bolton
  19. Of course, it could read 'husband' or ' partner' instead of 'wife'. My bad.
  20. Thanks for taking the time to answer. Due to the sheer scale of the event and numbers who attend, are you guaranteed an audience or do some bands end up playing to virtually no-one on a stage tucked away in an unpopular corner of the site? Has anyone who has attended as a punter witnessed this? I have to admit I'm not a massive fan of festivals in general, but the more I hear about the festival the less impressed I am from a band's PoV. Like so much in the current musical climate the artists who appear to be able to make it work are those who already have some success and a following.
  21. Here is an observation. I am still selling on there, using the free account, but here is what i have noticed... where an item im selling might have normally 50 80 100 views my good items are getting 15 20 views my lesser wanted items are getting 5, to 0 views. so my sales are right down. Now... you can click "promote you items",, here is what you get... ---------------------------------------- General 100% more visibility, on average. Basic access to ad placements across eBay Pay per sale - only pay a fee when an item sells Accelerate sales on any type of listing, especially useful on low quantity listings or,,,, Priority 200% more visibility, on average. Preferential ranking in ad placements across eBay Pay per click - only pay for clicks on your ads Multiply sales on multi-quantity listings, especially useful in highly competitive categories Exclusive access to the top of search ad placement -------------------------------------------- so im thinking its not hard to see whats going on there... all the time my items will be bumped to the bottom of a search list topped by people willing to pay for there ad to be "promoted" and also by all the traders that pay to have that priority as part of their package. that's all if you use the default search "Sort, best match" so if you use the sort by "ending soonest" this would put everything in line with no advancement to anyone paid or business account. that's just the way im thinking of it i may be wrong ? anyone ? i know your all thinking "what do you want for nothing", and fair enough, i get that. just an observation.
  22. Last bump before payday on Friday..yay!
  23. Welcome to the Starstream owners club! I love the artist Starstreams, I've got 3 of the buggers now, 2 A1H with the MM style pickup and 1 A2S with the jazz config. I've got short scale EB Cobalt flats on one A1H, and they're perfect for it. They basically sound like played in rounds, with enough tension to work well at 30" scale but not too stiff either. That particular bass has become my goto for almost everything. Can highly recommend them.
